Snow was training inside a gym chamber when her phone suddenly began to ring.
She stopped twirling the long staff in her hands and walked over to a flat bench where her phone had been left. Picking it up, she tapped the answer button and held it to her ear.
"Hey, Uncle. How have you been?" Snow greeted.
A man’s voice came from the other end of the line. It was the same person who had visited her at the cafe a few days earlier.
"There’s no time for pleasantries, Snow. Something bad has happened."
Snow’s brows furrowed. "What do you mean?"
"The boy you wanted to be assigned to the same squad with... Leon Bale."
"What about him?" Snow’s expression immediately turned serious.
"He has already entered the Red Horn’s Nest."
"What?!" The staff slipped from her hand and clattered onto the floor.
"Yes," her uncle replied gravely. "Considering the astonishing regenerative ability you mentioned, I believe he’ll survive the volcano itself. But..."
"But what?" Snow pressed anxiously.
"Many people have already learned about the situation and are heading toward the Red Horn’s Nest. Especially Sylus Moure. Even if Leon manages to obtain the treasure... the moment he comes out... he’ll be walking straight into his own death."
The moment Snow heard the name Sylus Moure, her expression turned ice-cold. "I’m going there," she said without the slightest hesitation.
"Snow, have you lost your mind?" her uncle exclaimed. "You know he was the one responsible for your mother’s death. If you confront him now, you’ll die."
"Then come and help me," Snow replied firmly. "Leon has the highest possibility of getting the Blood Dantian Pill. The very treasure my mother was murdered for."
Her grip on the phone tightened. "There’s no way I’m letting Sylus get his hands on it. Even if it costs me my life... I’ll stop him."
Silence lingered on the other end of the call.
After several moments, her uncle finally let out a weary sigh.
"But he’s a Disaster Class hunter, Snow. One of the only five mages in the world to have reached that rank..."
His voice grew heavier. "And he’s the strongest among them. Once Sylus sets his sights on something, he won’t stop until it’s his. If you go now, you’ll only be throwing your life away."
"So... You’re not coming?"
Another sigh came from the other end. "Fine. I’m coming. But don’t do anything reckless before I get there."
"Got it." She ended the call, rushed out of the training room, and sprinted toward her house. Moments later, she jumped into her car, slammed her foot on the accelerator, and sped toward the Red Horn’s Nest.
Meanwhile, a jet landed a few hundred meters away from the mountain region where the Red Horn’s Nest was located.
Three figures stepped out.
Two of them were none other than Hazel and Wren. The two demon hunters Leon had met earlier.
The third was a woman with long, dark navy-blue hair flowing down her back. She exuded an aura of power and supremacy, while her mature charm gave her a subtly seductive presence.
Although she appeared to be in her early thirties, it was obvious that her true age was far greater. She was merely maintaining a youthful appearance. It was none other than one of the five elders of the Demon Slayer clan.
"Are you certain the information is accurate?" the elder asked. "That brat really entered the Red Horn’s Nest?"
"Yes, Elder," Hazel replied.
Wren let out a sneer. "Do we really need to personally come here for this? If he really jumped into the volcano, by now, he’s probably been reduced to ashes."
Hazel shot him a cold glare. "Do you think he’s an idiot? Why would he jump into the volcano if he knew he was certain to die? If he did it, then it can only mean one thing. He has a way to survive down there. And if he truly survives... and obtains that treasure..."
Her voice grew solemn. "Do you understand what that means? Give him enough time to grow, and no one in this world will be able to stop him."
The elder nodded. "You’re right. He may already be dead. But if he isn’t... We must obtain the Blood Dantian Pill."
Wren frowned. "But what if he swallows the pill instead while he’s still inside the Red Horn’s Nest?"
"He’ll die then," the elder replied calmly. "According to the ancient records, once the Blood Dantian Pill is consumed, the user’s dantian and meridians are completely destroyed. They must then rebuild their entire body using an enormous amount of cultivation resources."
She looked toward the towering volcano in the distance. "What cultivation resources could possibly exist inside a volcano besides fire? He can only survive the refinement process if he consumes the pill after going to the Summitas Valley."
Hazel hesitated for a moment before speaking. "But Elder... are we really going to snatch it from him? He’ll be the one who risked his life to obtain it."
The elder sighed. "Hazel... you have no idea how valuable that pill truly is. According to legend, the only way to reach the Ninth Heaven is to conquer the hundredth floor of any of the Towers. But in this world, our cultivation is capped at the Martial Grandmaster Realm. With that level of strength, conquering the Tower is impossible. Which means... There is no path to the Ninth Heaven. No path to immortality."
She looked at Hazel. "So even if we don’t take the pill... Do you really think he’ll be able to keep it for himself?"
Hazel fell silent. She knew the elder was right.
Meanwhile, Wren secretly sneered to himself. ’Finally... a chance to teach that brat some manners. I’ll only spare his life if he kneels before me and begs for mercy.’
While they were occupied with their discussion, many other powerhouses were also rushing toward the same mountain range where the Red Horn’s Nest was located.
Representatives from nearly every major clan in Summitas Valley were among them.
Several powerful mages were heading there as well.
Among them...
Was Sylus Moure. The strongest Disaster Class hunter in the world.
Meanwhile, Leon remained completely focused on battling the monsters inside the trial, utterly unaware that countless powerful experts were gathering outside...
All waiting for him to emerge.
