"Hah, you got what you asked for."
Destroying the core, Nash completed the trial regardless of the condition. It seems he was much stronger than he thought. Blocking the attack of a tier 8 powerhouse, even though briefly, was still an impressive achievement.
Entering the next floor, Nash was greeted by a shorter trial.
102nd floor trial space:
[102nd Trial: Ice-Hail Law Trial]
[Goal: Survive 30 hours]
"30 hours? So you can yield after all."
From 100 hours to 30 hours, it shortened his time by over three times. However, as Nash looked around the trial space, his expression changed.
"Is this tower spirit treating me like a tier 7 War Saint?"
Previously, even though the enemies were in the tier 7 realm, their law was only at the level of virtualization. Now, it was directly advanced to fusion of law.
"I wonder if I could shorten it further?" Nash thought, looking toward the trial’s core.
Soon, mobilizing his primordial force and sublimated elements, he began to clash with the enemies, marching toward the core. Unfortunately, the closer he got, the stronger the enemies. A step toward the core, all the enemies he faced were already at the Tier 7 realm.
"It seems this is my limit..." Although he felt he could get closer, looking at the imposing Tier 8 Guardian, he stood no chance. Unless he completed the virtualization of a few more laws, this was his limit.
Not having any choice, he could only hold on, enduring the 30 hours of survival. With mythical combat ability, numbers were no longer a matter to him. As long as his energy was not exhausted, he would not be defeated.
Having some spare leisure time, his mind couldn’t help but wander, thinking about what else he could do. He really couldn’t settle down with all this free time.
"Hey tower spirit, why don’t you increase the difficulty further and lessen the time?" Nash said aloud, looking at the sky. Like before, he only heard the echo of his voice without receiving any answer.
"Tsk, the same as ever..."
Putting his mind to battle, Nash no longer thought of anything and began to concentrate on the trial.
---
Five months later, Nash was notified by Julius that another 5 dark gates had been built within the Neon Star Domain.
"Another 5 dark gates!"
With the addition of 4 dark gates from before, they could now generate 900 units of Merit Source.
Completing his trial, Nash stopped his climb at the 221st floor. "This should be enough for a while."
Before anything else, he needed to oversee the training of scientists and professionals. To build additional dark gates, they had already enlisted the help of other high-level cosmic team alliances. Wanting to build dozens more was basically impossible.
Ordering Julius to call all qualified scientists and professionals of the Neon Star Alliance, as well as peripheral members from the foreign cosmic team alliances, Nash walked to his room in the Altier Arcane Tower and connected to the private virtual link Julius had sent.
---
Neon Star Private Virtual Server, Scientific Time-Ground:
Entering the private virtual server, Nash couldn’t help but examine the place around him.
"Supreme Leader, you are here. What do you think about this Scientific Time-Ground?" Julius greeted, showing off his work.
To accelerate time for multiple individuals and provide enough land to conduct experiments and research would cost an enormous amount of Merit Source. To circumvent this issue, Nash had him build a private virtual server.
This virtual server would have limited size and operational capacity, targeting the sweet spot of a 1-to-10 time ratio. This means that, at full capacity, this virtual world would only cost 1 unit of Merit Source for 10x time acceleration. No matter what they did or the number of individuals, as long as there was operational capacity left, everything was possible.
"Not bad. Once you have enough time, continue to optimize this virtual server, increasing the operational capacity while keeping the energy usage the same."
As Nash looked around, some scientific machines and equipment were not included, likely because they would exceed the operational capacity of the virtual world.
"We’ll try our best, Supreme Leader."
After testing the limits of the virtual world for a little while, he had Julius call all the others inside.
"Greetings, Supreme Leader Nash!"
Gathered within the virtual world, everyone greeted Nash in unison.
"At ease, you are not soldiers but scientists and professionals. You were called here today to learn the process of building a dark gate." After he said this, he scanned the group of experienced individuals who had already built one.
"Come to the front, you will be teaching these newcomers. Before the Neon Star Domain stabilizes, everyone here should already be proficient in the process of building the dark gate. Is that clear?"
"Yes, Supreme Leader."
To let them build a dark gate independently, countless resources were wasted in the process. Having learned from experience, it was natural for them to teach the others.
"Begin..."
Using all 500 units of Merit Source produced by the newly built dark gate, he accelerated the time of the Scientific Time-Ground 5000x.
Building the dark gates consists of many disciplines, from runic engraving, spatial manipulation, material synthesis, dark technology, dark energy purification, etc. From every scientist and professional, each had a topic that they needed to study and build a foundation on.
Afterward, once everyone was proficient, they could build a simulation through collaborative effort. Nash’s goal for the next phase was to build at least ten dark gates. Thus, it was crucial for everyone here to at least be proficient before then.
Seeing everyone was in their place, busy studying, Nash walked toward his private workspace. Since there was extra operational capacity, he didn’t want to waste it and also began to study how to build the dark gate.
Nash might not be able to make use of it now, but once he accumulated more knowledge of the runic pattern, he might be able to automate or at least shorten this process.
Studying at a leisurely pace, he noticed he had plenty of unused computational power.
"Could I use this to continue fighting in the Altier Arcane Tower?"
Being used to tens of thousands of accelerations, the current mode was nothing to him. It didn’t even feel as strenuous as the trial in the Altier Arcane Tower.
Thinking it was a good idea, Nash paused his activity and exited the virtual world.
"I’m truly a multitasking genius."
