I Can Reincarnate Infinitely
Chapter 218 - 214: My Core Formation, Don’t Butt InAfter several hundred days, Du Youqian stopped actively absorbing and converting Spiritual Qi. However, the Spiritual Qi did not stop. It continued to pour back into him, filling his entire body.
This Spiritual Qi nourished his body.
His muscles, fascia, bones, and internal organs—none were exempt. Under the powerful surge of Spiritual Qi, they went from a quantitative change to a qualitative one.
It was a baptism bestowed by the heavens, allowing a Cultivator’s physical strength to increase rapidly.
From another perspective, however, it was also a form of celestial punishment. If a Cultivator’s physique was inadequate, the backflow of Spiritual Qi could easily cause them to start bleeding from all over their body, or even make their flesh explode.
Fortunately, while Du Youqian had never deliberately practiced Body Refining, he had always placed importance on tempering his physique and had consumed a number of Body Refining Elixirs. As a result, he was just able to withstand the Spiritual Energy Inversion and reap considerable benefits from the process.
His physical strength was now more than ten times greater than it had been at Foundation Establishment Perfection.
Once Du Youqian’s physical strength reached its current limit with no room for further improvement, the Spiritual Qi could no longer find an outlet. It began to relentlessly compress his qi and blood, his crystallized Magical Power, and even his Divine Sense.
Du Youqian didn’t resist this compressive force. Instead, he seized the opportunity to circulate his Cultivation Technique and activate his Core Formation Secret Technique.
Another hundred days passed.
RUMBLE...
A sound like rolling thunder seemed to emanate from within his body.
It was the sound of Du Youqian’s qi, blood, and Magical Power—condensed to an incredible degree and as dense as mercury—circulating through his body along the pathways prescribed by the Shangqing Purple Qi Divine Pill Creation Technique.
One Circulation, two Circulations...
Eventually, his qi, blood, and crystallized Magical Power grew so heavy they became impossible to circulate, settling in his Dantian.
Du Youqian seized this moment to sink his entire Divine Sense into his Dantian.
Under the pressure of the Spiritual Qi pouring in from the outside, his Essence, Qi, and Spirit were forcibly merged into one, their clear distinctions blurring.
This unified Essence, Qi, and Spirit began to spin under the external force, forming a small vortex within his Dantian.
The vortex flung out impurities, leaving only the most refined essence. This made his Essence, Qi, and Spirit even more unified, compact, and dense.
The small vortex spun on and on.
As for Du Youqian, he emptied his mind. With not a single thought stirring, he simply gazed inward at the tiny vortex...
An unknown amount of time passed. What spun now was no longer a tiny vortex, but a sphere slightly larger than a pigeon’s egg.
It was perfectly round and simple, faintly glowing with a metallic luster as it spun without pause.
This was the Golden Core!
The Three Treasures—Essence, Qi, and Spirit—achieved unity. Under the pressure of the Spiritual Energy Inversion and empowered by the Cultivator’s own technique, water and fire tempered one another, the dragon and tiger converged, and at last, the Golden Core was formed.
If someone were to cut open Du Youqian’s abdomen and slice open his Dantian right now, they would never find this Golden Core.
A Cultivator’s Golden Core is not the same as a Demon’s Demon Core.
A Demon Core is a tangible, physical object. A Cultivator’s Golden Core, however... exists somewhere between the corporeal and incorporeal. It is the manifestation of a Cultivator’s Essence, Qi, and Spirit condensed to their ultimate limit.
It does not mean a Cultivator truly has a pearl that glows with a metallic light inside their body.
If you really found such a pearl... you should be considering the possibility of a stomach stone, not a Golden Core.
For a Cultivator, achieving Core Formation means their qi and blood have been strengthened and condensed to an entirely new level.
They become far more resistant to aging and decay, taking a great leap into a new state of being, and can enjoy a lifespan of five hundred years.
Upon reaching the Golden Core Middle Stage, that lifespan extends to six hundred years.
And at Golden Core Perfection... one can live for eight hundred years!
With this, Du Youqian’s Golden Core was formed.
But he only let the corners of his mouth quirk up slightly. He had no time to rejoice.
For as soon as the Golden Core formed, tribulations would arrive in droves!
If he failed to withstand them and could not overcome the disasters, his nascent Golden Core would be damaged, or even shatter completely.
In the process of a Golden Core shattering, without a Six Spirits Heart Nourishing Pill to protect one’s meridians, a Cultivator’s meridians would be torn to shreds, leading to the death of their body and the dissipation of their Dao.
Du Youqian sat unmoving. From within his seemingly dust-covered body, a vibrant aura emanated.
Then, with a stir of his Divine Sense, the Treasure he had placed before him—the Clear Heart Bell—began to ring.
CHIME...
The sound seemed to resonate directly in his soul.
In the next instant, the scene changed.
On Soul-shaking Mountain, Du Youqian searched the entire mountain but found no trace of any Cultivators.
His heart filled with despair, he trudged down the mountain, utterly dejected.
Just then, the sound of a bell seemed to drift on the wind, clearing his head a little. ’Huh? Why didn’t Elder Tao come to meet me?’
’Wait, who is Elder Tao? Why would he be coming to meet me?’
Another gust of wind blew, leaving Du Youqian dazed. He stumbled down the rest of the mountain in a stupor.
After squandering several more years, he returned alone and dejected to his old home in the Jin Kingdom.
Upon his return, he was met with a torrent of furious curses from his white-haired father.
"So you finally decided to come back, huh? Why didn’t you just die out there! Your mother cries every single day, she’s cried herself blind! How could you do this to her?! Get to the ancestral hall and kneel! I’m going to beat you to death, you little animal!"
Dazed, Du Youqian walked toward the ancestral hall.
Lifting his head, he saw the words written above the entrance: "Fang Family Ancestral Hall."
’Eh? The Fang Family?’
’What was my surname, again?’
The faint, indistinct sound of a bell drifted on the wind.
It made Du Youqian jolt to his senses.
’So that’s what this is.’
’A Heart Demon.’
The figures and buildings around him began to distort, like freshly bought sugar figurines melting in the sun.
"Ah well," Du Youqian sighed. "Since I’m already here, I might as well see this life through."
’Even a hundred, a thousand lifetimes of Reincarnation are nothing but a single thought conjured by a Heart Demon.’
’In the outside world, only an instant will have passed.’
’It won’t delay me at all.’
So, in the life conjured by the Heart Demon...
Du Youqian dutifully returned to the Fang Family and cared for his parents until their passing.
After his parents died, the tone of the illusion shifted abruptly.
His elder brother demanded they divide the family property. Du Youqian asked for nothing and left with only the clothes on his back.
On nearby Dangshan, he luckily stumbled upon an Immortal Master’s Inheritance, becoming a Qi Cultivation Cultivator and also mastering a Spirit Plant Inheritance.
Later, he adopted several orphan girls, including ones named Fang Hua and Lin Sha. Du Youqian had children with them, and his family flourished. They bore him many children who possessed Spirit Roots.
With every child born with a Spirit Root, Du Youqian would receive a reward in return: sometimes his own Spirit Root would be enhanced, sometimes his Cultivation would increase, other times he would obtain a Cultivation Technique or be gifted Treasures of Heaven and Earth.
And so, the Fang Family gradually became a powerful Cultivation Clan. Then, one day, Du Youqian achieved Core Formation...
At this point, even the Heart Demon probably couldn’t take it anymore. It was all too ridiculous.
The scene changed again.
In the Feixian Peak Blessed Land, Du Youqian studied under Lei Jalin. He finally broke through to the Foundation Establishment Late Stage and, at the same time, advanced his Array Dao to Tier Three.
The entire Zhongxuan Sect celebrated and immediately applied to the Taihe Sect to be elevated in rank.
After passing the inspection, the Zhongxuan Sect was bestowed with numerous Treasures and Cultivation Techniques, and a grand ceremony was held to mark its ascension.
Du Youqian, the center of everyone’s attention, tilted his head to listen. The faint sound of a bell was carried on a distant breeze.
"I see..." he nodded thoughtfully.
"I want to be the Sect Leader!" Du Youqian declared abruptly.
Several Supreme Elders and the current Sect Leader turned to look at him, their eyes filled with admiration and indulgence. "Of course! You’re the Sect’s greatest benefactor. You can be whatever you want. We old folks will support you unconditionally."
The beautiful and striking Master Lei said, her voice full of tender affection, "Do you need Dao Companions? I, your master, am willing to become one for you. I will make your bed, fold your clothes, and bear your children."
And so, Du Youqian became the Sect Leader of the Zhongxuan Sect. "Strongest Sect Leader System, online! Sign in to receive the Newbie Gift Pack! Building obtained: Level 3 Scripture Pavilion, with a chance to produce Tier Three Cultivation Techniques and Secret Techniques. Construction requires 100 prestige. Host’s current prestige: 80. Please increase your prestige as soon as possible!"
The illusion’s narrative began to warp once again...
The scene shifted.
Again and again, Du Youqian was able to snap back to his senses in time after hearing the bell.
Finally, the Heart Demon gave up.
The scene stopped shifting. Du Youqian opened his eyes and returned to the present, to the real world.
The Golden Core in his Dantian had condensed even further, becoming more and more like a tangible object.
Du Youqian took a deep breath, grabbed his Defensive Treasures—a suit of Leather Armor and a Bone Shield—and strode out of the secluded chamber.
Outside, the vortex of Spiritual Qi had dispersed, and a bank of thunderclouds had gathered.
Next, he had to face the Thunder Tribulation.
He needed to let his nascent Golden Core be baptized by the lightning, but without allowing it to be ravaged.
Many Cultivators attempting Core Formation failed at this very step.
Du Youqian didn’t think it would be difficult.
He planned to withstand the first six or seven bolts of the Thunder Tribulation with his physical body, using his Treasures only to defend against the final two.
This was a common practice for confident Cultivators with deep foundations. The risks were manageable, and it allowed them to receive a sufficient baptism from the tribulation, thereby gaining the greatest possible boost.
Just then, a wave of joyful and eager intent emanated from Du Youqian’s Storage Treasure Pouch.
Intrigued, Du Youqian took out the Stone Egg.
It was indeed the Stone Egg causing the commotion. It was far more active and excited than ever before, and it seemed to have an insatiable craving for the impending Thunder Tribulation.
Lightning was already brewing within the oppressive black clouds, about to strike.
Du Youqian made a swift decision.
He tossed the Stone Egg into midair. At that very moment, with a sound like tearing fabric—KRRRACK!—the Celestial Curtain seemed to rip apart.
The sky lit up as a long, silver-white serpent coiled down from above, striking the Stone Egg with vicious force.
The silver serpent slithered over the Stone Egg a few times before quickly sinking into it. The egg’s excitement surged even higher.
Du Youqian could clearly sense the Stone Egg conveying a thought: ’So hungry! Must eat! Eat lots and lots!’
Du Youqian felt a little exasperated. ’This is my Tribulation Thunder! What are you doing, crashing the party?’
’If you eat it all, what am I supposed to use to temper my physique and my Golden Core?’
