The river of stars stretched on, vast and without end. Stars beyond counting filled a void that spanned hundreds of millions of miles.

Zhao Rui wandered for an unknown number of days until he was weary in both body and soul. With no strength left to search, he returned to Manghuang Star, dejected.

Manghuang Star was slightly larger than the fully restored Blue Star. Its orbital period around its central star was also about three times longer; basically, one year here was equivalent to three years on Blue Star.

Zhao Rui wasn’t sure how to even calculate the time.

’This must be like the old saying, "a day in the heavens is a year on earth."’

Ever since he had stepped into the Starry Sky Realm and begun absorbing Dark Energy, Zhao Rui could clearly feel that the activity level of his cells had leaped to a completely different order of magnitude.

The feeling was difficult to describe, but Zhao Rui knew one thing for certain: his lifespan had increased dramatically.

He had also learned the life-extending Cultivation Technique of the Five Immortals. While his affinity for it wasn’t as freakishly high as theirs, its life-prolonging effects were still top-notch.

As for how much his lifespan had actually increased, Zhao Rui had no way of estimating. After all, he didn’t even know how to properly measure the passage of time anymore.

He could only make a rough estimate based on Manghuang Star’s orbital and rotational periods.

The peak of the Martial Dao was already akin to that of an Immortal!

It simply lacked an Immortal’s metamorphosis, their ethereal nature and Dao-infused grace. It was more like the Martial Dao’s way of aligning with the Laws—using raw power to forcibly change the rules of reality, thus producing wondrous abilities.

’Perhaps real Immortals exist somewhere else.’

Zhao Rui didn’t care about any of that. Whether it was called Immortal or Martial, it was just a name for power. All he wanted now was to return to Blue Star.

He was afraid that if too much time passed, his family would grow old, and the women he loved would become gray-haired.

No matter how high his Martial Arts Cultivation, he only possessed immense Combat Power. His mental fortitude and Dao Practice were nowhere near that of the "Immortals" who had transcended the mortal world.

"Train diligently. I need you to wage war across the land, to build your own kingdoms..."

Zhao Rui was no saint, nor did he have any real desire to teach disciples. But the power of one person was limited. The strength of ten, a hundred, or even ten thousand people, however, would eventually converge into an immense force.

Of course, they had no idea what Zhao Rui’s ultimate goal was. But as long as they followed his instructions, a trail of clues was bound to appear.

The years slipped by without a trace, and in the blink of an eye, several more had passed.

Zhao Rui had lost count of how many planets he had visited. He had even ventured far from the Brookfan Star Realm, searching the neighboring star realms on his own.

His disciples had long since completed their training. Each returned to their homeland with one of the Immortals in tow, waging war, conquering lands, and expanding their territories.

With their level of power in the Manghuang region, it was as if they were using cheat codes.

In just a few short years, they had already conquered half the known world.

This long, aimless wandering had left Zhao Rui utterly disheartened.

One day, as he was searching near a planet on the edge of the Brookfan Star Realm, he suddenly felt a wave of Energy powerful enough to shake the Cosmos erupt.

Zhao Rui hastily unleashed his Domain Power, sealing off the space around him and blocking the wave of Energy a hundred meters away.

’What is this?’

Zhao Rui gazed into the distance. There, a giant clad in Armor, thousands of meters tall, was swinging its sword at another giant of similar height, this one possessing twelve wings.

’The God of Light?’

Zhao Rui had seen the God of Light’s Dharma Aspect back at the dueling grounds base.

’Who’s the other giant? Judging by its power, it seems even stronger than the God of Light!’

While Zhao Rui was still puzzling over it, the distant, armored giant’s voice boomed across space, a telepathic message that shook one’s very Divine Soul. "Balder, you coward! Did you think you could escape my judgment just by hiding!?"

Hearing the armored giant’s words, the God of Light, Balder, flew into a rage. His twelve wings flickered like phantoms of light, and brilliant rays shot from his body, one after another, like waves crashing on a shore.

"Ares, God of War! Who gave you the right to judge me? I was defeated, yes, but I did not betray the Divine Domain!"

"Defeat *is* a disgrace! As for Ajido, I’ll deal with him in due time. But first, you will pay the price for your recklessness and stupidity."

With words failing them, the two giants began to trade blows amidst the stars.

The immense fluctuations of Energy blasted the surrounding asteroid belt to pieces, sending fragments hurtling into nearby planets like a meteor shower.

Zhao Rui kept his distance from the turmoil of their battle, watching quietly from afar with a frown.
