The moment i placed the points into her skills, Sara turned to look at me with gleaming eyes.
"Master! I've got new spells now!"
This was just like when i forced the level up of my swordsmanship and i gained the knowledge of how to fight with the sword.
Raising her fire magic had given her new knowledge on fire, and how to cast greater spells.
If one went through the normal process fo endless study and repetition, they probably wouldnt be shocked by this since they wound only think that they had finally achieved a breakthrough on a problem they were stuck on.
After inquiring i found that with the three new points her list of spells had increased by three totally seven now to match her level, while Elemental affinity seemed to have done nothing at all.
At least until i asked her to cast her level 1 spell Fireball, and the result was enough to shock the both of us.
Her flame orb previously was only about the size of a human head, and glowed a sort of orangy red, but now it was easily 2-3x the size and its color was instead orangy-yellow now, while the heat it was putting out even just floating there above her palm was intense.
This powerboost coupled with her new level 7 fire spell, could easily wipe out a goblin village of a few hundred, hell once i saw what her new high level spell could do she might be able to solo the largest Goblin villages of thousands.
Finding the goblin settlement wasn't difficult, the dead scouting party had left enough tracks that even I could follow them.
Not that they were ever trying to hide their tracks to begin with, plenty of snapped branched, uprooted bushes, and trails of blood from their hunt.
They obviously had only just begun their hunt, as they were full of energy and willing to take our their fresh agression on anything and anyone.
We followed their trail for nearly an house, the deeper down the trail we went the more obvious their presence became.
Not just the hunting parties but also the other goblins, the forest was being pillaged for all it was worth, branches, trees, if they could take it they did.
Worse still the smell eventually reached us before sight of the village itself did.
Goblins were a truly vile race, they collected everything but thanks to having godlike levels of disese immunity were not bothered by the amassed excrement, and rotting corpses of their prey.
Sara covered her nose. "Ew!"
She had thankfully not had to smell to many of the goblins we'd run across seeing as how her flames had put an end to them and their stink when they were still dozens of meters away.
But now, now we were downwind from a settlement of hundreds of the creatures and their amassed... wealth.
"That's a goblin village, for you, though i will admit its quite a bit worse smelling than the last one i encountered."
"Ugh. I dont think it could possibly get worse than this, i feel like i could faint just from the smell."
We climbed a small hill before us, and took up roost to stare down at the village before us.

From above it looked like an abnormal clearing in the middle of the forest, dozens of crude huts made from branches, mud, animal hides, and whatever else the goblins had managed to steal.
Hundreds of them, tiny shadows of what had to be goblins were moving all across their settlement.
As with all things at least until the Goblin village became large enough for the Goblin chief to evolve into a Goblin knight or King, the goblins themselves would have crude weapons at least unless they managed to capture or slay adventurers as they are typically viewed as a scavenger race, using the goods of those they prey upon to enhance themselves.
Sara stared, "How many?"
"At least three hundred, and i can't guarentee that they don't have any captives considering the size of their settlement."
Her grip tightened around her staff. "Captives... would they even want to be saved after this?"
I looked at her. "Would you?"
She swallowed but did not answer.
Everyone had heard stories as a kid of what becoming the captive of a goblin meant for you, as she sat there contemplating what she would choose if she were one of those taken and used by the goblins.
Even just days ago she had almost had this very same choice to make as the Baron and his men almost had their way with her.
Would she really want to live on after that, after having known how many... things had done... that with her body?
Then stepped forward, still silent, but raising her staff up in front of her with both hands.
We were close but not close enough to have been spotted by the goblins, that gave her the perfect opportunity to have a perfect first shot without anyone even knowing who was attacking throwing their camp into disarray.
Of her three new magic spells only one was suitable for widescale destruction like she wanted, and given the length of her chant it was clear she was going for this very spell.
<Fireblast>
Heat gathered around her, and with a wave of her staff, a massive ball of fire more than 10 meters in diameter was launched towards the goblin village, as if the very sun itself had been torn from the sky and was now crashing down to the ground.
Even before the flame hit the ground, its intense heat had already set most of the settlement ablaze along with the woods that were still fairly close to the walls.
Goblins screamed, and screech in such a way that their voices reached us even this far away on the hill.
Sara was supporting herself with her staff, her breathing heavy having used up most if not all of her mana on that single casting, but still forcing herself to watch as this pit of refuse was burned away from the world, in a sort of holy cleansing.
Boooom!
Then came the impact as the sphere of fire, landed and with that came an explosion that flattened everything.
The wall was pushed over, before it joined everything else in catching alight.
By the time the blast had faded along with the flames, all that remained was a perfect circle of charred earth, and the slow to rise handful of goblins who through some means or another managed to survive.
Leaving Sara behind to recover, i quickly dashed into the carnage as the earth itself crunched under my boots and my blade cleaved its way through the survivors, bringing the total population of this village to 0.
It was while searching the remains for anything useful that I noticed something strange.
The goblin village wasn't simply built randomly, after they had been chased away from a previous village by knights or adventurers.
Instead the center of the former village was a small stone structure that from certain angles just looked like a massive boulder, but when looked at from the front, you could see a small doorway that seemed to lead in a solid black cavern.
Sara seemed confused by what she was seeing and couldnt help but even asking if this was a mine or something the goblins had created, only for me to laugh a bit at her ignorance before wiping a false tear from my face.
"This is a dungeon."
Dungeon, that word was powerful, this world was full of dungeons, most of the time if a dugeon appeared near a city it was a boon to the local lord as the drop items obtained from without could boost the local economy while also increasing tourism as adventurers would gather to challenge it.
But dungeons like this, located out in the wild, they were truly dangerous.
If a dungeon was not regularly cleared or destoyed by divers the miasma within would eventually allow monsters to escape the confines of the dungeons and spill out onto the surface.
This was no doubt how the goblins came to be here.
And considering they were only regular goblins that meant this was a fairly new dungeon, one that probably only had around 10 floors to its size making it an infant dungeon in the grand scale of things.
As much as i wanted to carryon following Cole i couldnt help but be tempted to test out this dungeon and gain more experience by challenging the monsters within.
