I Conquer Hell and Heaven With 666 Trillion Coins
Chapter 44: Gaining Mana By EatingAs soon as he left work, he began to make his way northwards from the western part of the shipyard, accompanied by his bodyguards, towards the central area of the shipyard.
This area contained numerous buildings and detached houses. It would be fair to describe this as the place where the other ’ghosts’ lived and went about their daily business, with small market squares and shops.
After a car journey of nearly twenty-five minutes, Dean arrived in the area and began to survey his surroundings.
He had a task.
[Task 5: Own, Break, Create
Purchase a region, destroy everything in it, and create much better things in their place.
Reward: Ownership Token(???)]
Frankly, as he would most likely be entering this dungeon for two weeks and could complete his tasks by logging in whenever he wished, he had thought it through straight away.
"Can I buy a plot here?"
There were plenty of plots available for purchase.
After all, for a bit of extra money, there were probably only a few areas in this city that he wouldn’t be able to buy.
Deep down, he kept wondering whether he could buy the entire shipyard.
Still, he was forced to put those thoughts aside.
Shortly afterwards, whilst wandering around the centre, he saw that face again, the one he’d met only yesterday.
Sabre was waving at him from a distance, from inside a restaurant.
Judging by his clothes, it was quite clear that the man worked there.
Dean walked into the restaurant accompanied by his two bodyguards.
As soon as they entered, they were greeted by Sabre.
"Welcome, Mr Decanus. It is an honour for me to host you at this establishment," said Sabre.
Dean looked at him and asked, "Could I have a menu, please?"
In response to his question, Sabre brought him a large menu; when Dean saw the prices on it, he stared in utter astonishment.
Even a single drink cost ten thousand Nether and Aether coins.
This... was unbelievably expensive.
"There’s no way this place is making a profit, Mr Decanus," said one of the bodyguards.
Dean shook his head.
To be honest, he didn’t really care about the prices. It could be said he was merely slightly surprised that they were so exorbitant.
"Sit down, let’s eat together," Dean said calmly.
The two bodyguards exchanged glances at these words. It could be said they were wondering whether what they’d heard was actually true.
"Don’t make me repeat myself."
With Dean speaking again, there was nothing left for them to do.
When the bodyguards took their seats, Dean simply turned to Sabre, who was waiting by the table for the orders, and said, "We’ll have one of every dish and drink on the menu."
Although the bodyguards were at a loss for words, Sabre smiled, took the menu from Dean’s hand and said, "As you wish, sir."
The restaurant was quite large, and there were indeed a few other customers around.
Given that this place was VERY different from Aether and that the wealthy were in the minority, it was only natural that there were just a few customers here.
Amidst these thoughts, the young man had, strangely enough, suddenly found himself missing Nemesis.
The time he’d spent with the goddess had been so enjoyable that, following the strange looks and behaviour directed at him by those around him, he couldn’t help but miss her.
There was nothing to be done.
After nearly thirty minutes had passed, a considerable amount of food and drink had been brought to the table.
The table had filled up in no time, and other tables had to be joined to the one they were sitting at.
Dean simply cut off a piece of meat, popped it into his mouth and chewed it.
As soon as he swallowed the mouthful, a system notification window popped up in front of him:
[The user has gained a very small amount of ’mana’.]
The young man hadn’t the faintest idea what this meant. He couldn’t possibly have done anything to gain mana.
He wasn’t meditating.
In fact, as he had reached the end of the Low-Level zone, his mana gain was below even the minimum.
For this reason, he had reacted to the whole thing with utter bewilderment.
Still, when his eyes fell from the system window to the food in front of him, he managed to work out what was happening.
"Bloody hell..." Dean muttered.
Without a second thought, he cut off another piece of his food, picked it up and popped it into his mouth.
Then another.
Then yet another.
As he swallowed all three mouthfuls, he realised his thoughts had been correct:
[The user has gained a very small amount of ’mana’.]
[The user has gained a very small amount of ’mana’.]
[The user has gained a very small amount of ’mana’.]
The young man was going to polish off all the food in front of him. He didn’t want to leave even a single bite behind.
If every single piece of food here had the same effect, then he should be able to regain that gain, which was currently at its upper limit, once more.
This would mean he could increase his mana without having to level up directly.
In that case... wouldn’t he be stronger than everyone else when he reached the next level?
With great delight, he popped another mouthful into his mouth and swallowed it.
[The user has gained a very small amount of ’mana’.]
Indeed, everything was just as he’d thought. This meant he could now eat his meal with joy.
There was so much food that it would take nearly an hour to eat it all.
This was understandable.
Nearly ninety plates of food, along with half as many glasses of drink, had been placed on the tables covering them, and the food had been brought to them according to their wishes.
By the time the meal was over, Dean had easily managed to notice the difference in his body.
Indeed, everything was in a state of absolute perfection.
The mana within his body hadn’t miraculously doubled. Still, one could say it had increased by perhaps 5% or 6%.
This might seem like a small increase, but for Dean’s current power level, it was, in every sense of the word, a HUGE increase.
When the young man could eat no more, he looked at Sabre and said, "I’d like the same meal again, but please bring everything wrapped up."
Sabre nodded and went into the kitchen to pass on the order.
The young man wanted to keep some food with him just in case, even if he were to leave this place.
