I Conquer Hell and Heaven With 666 Trillion Coins
Chapter 60: Fight For Your Life (3)He... was still on his own. The three enemy angels knew this too. None of them was in any hurry.
They watched Dean’s breathing, saw his legs trembling, and noticed how the muscles in his arms tensed a little more each time he raised his spear.
He was tired, and he couldn’t hide it.
The angel with the pierced shoulder smiled faintly.
"I wonder how long you can hold out."
The other two angels also began to spread out slowly. They were encircling him.
They were maintaining their distance from one another, forcing Dean to keep turning. This meant he was constantly exposing his back to another enemy.
Dean realised this was deliberate.
"They’re wearing me down..." he thought.
"No. They’re trying to panic me."
Just then, one of them lunged forward again, straight at him.
Just as Dean raised his spear to parry the blow, a second angel attacked from his right.
"CLANG!"
He’d blocked the first blow.
But the second...
"Crack!"
The sword had scraped past the area of Dean’s ribs.
His body wasn’t split open, but his clothes, at least the top half, were torn quite badly.
Even so, the blow had been enough to take his breath away.
Dean had involuntarily taken two steps back.
The third angel didn’t miss the opportunity and thrust the spear in his hand straight towards Dean’s chest.
It was at that very moment that it happened.
Thin, golden lines began to flow from the palms of Dean’s hands towards the spear.
The Spear of Dawn... It was as if it were breathing.
Dean could feel it.
The spear wasn’t getting heavier. Quite the opposite. Despite all that exhaustion, it was growing a little lighter with every passing second.
The numbness in his arms was slowly fading. Strength was returning to his fingers. A warm sensation had formed in the centre of his chest. It was almost like ’not’ his soul but his heart that was getting this feeling.
This warmth was spreading through his veins, passing through his shoulders and reaching both his arms.
Dean’s eyes widened slightly.
This sensation... He’d never felt anything like it before.
The Spear of Dawn wasn’t merely radiating holy energy.
It was drawing the Holy Power from within him, purifying it, and returning it to his body, in a much purer form.
Dean wasn’t doing this consciously.
It was like breathing. Something unconscious yet constantly occurring.
The Spear of Dawn had suddenly begun to move in unison with him.
The three angels facing him had noticed this too.
"Commander!" one of them shouted.
"The energy radiating from the weapon is increasing!" screamed the wounded enemy angel.
In the distance, the gaze of that tall commander, who was fighting the friendly angels, had sharpened and locked onto Dean once more.
"No!!!" the commander shouted.
"The weapon isn’t radiating energy outwards!!!" he muttered suddenly.
"Humans are learning how to use it, be careful!" he added.
These words did not reach Dean’s ears because the third angel had already closed in on him.
The spear was just a few centimetres from his chest.
This time, Dean did not step back. He focused all his attention on a single point.
He twisted the spear’s shaft, turned his wrist slightly, and deflected the spearhead to the side.
"Clang!"
For the first time, the attack had completely missed its mark.
The enemy angel’s eyes widened.
"What?!"
Dean didn’t wait.
He spun his spear in a full circle around himself.
Golden Holy Power Energy had followed the tip of the spear, leaving a bright, crescent-shaped trail in the air.
The energy had instantly swelled and spread outwards. The two angels were forced to leap back at the same time.
For the first time, they were the ones forced to retreat.
Dean took a deep breath. The warmth in his chest had increased slightly. His body was still weary, his muscles still aching.
But his movements were a little more, no, much more, fluid.
The Spear of Dawn wasn’t merely increasing his power.
With every clash, it was acclimatising Dean’s body a little more to the sacred energy.
As stated in the spear’s description, the spear itself contained the element of light, and whoever possessed Holy Power would be able to draw upon this element.
The spear itself... seemed almost sentient. It was as if it had been waiting for its user for years and had finally found the right person.
The angel with the wounded shoulder roared with fury this time.
"Together!"
All three launched another attack simultaneously.
Dean, however, did not retreat this time.
As soon as the first angel’s sword came at him, he parried the blow with the butt of the spear.
In the same fluid motion, he spun the spear on its axis, fending off the second angel’s halberd.
Just as the third angel descended upon him from behind, Dean thrust his left foot backwards. Without looking back, he thrust the spear’s sharp tip backwards.
"Thunk!"
The spear had pierced straight into the angel’s abdomen.
The angel’s eyes widened in shock.
Dean did not hesitate for a single moment. He pulled the spear upwards with all his might. The wound had torn right up to his chest.
The angel collapsed to the ground with a scream of agony. The other two angels were genuinely taken aback for the second time.
Dean, however, capitalised on their bewilderment and stamped his foot hard on the ground.
He channelled all his Holy Power into the spear.
A golden light concentrated at the tip of the spear for a split second.
Dean shifted his entire body weight forward.
He lunged forward.
Before the first angel had a chance to raise his sword, the spear had pierced right through his chest.
"THUNK!"
Dean was INCREDIBLY fast.
Dean hadn’t pulled the spear back; instead, he’d kept pushing it forward.
The pierced angel’s body crashed into the third angel behind him.
Before the last angel, thrown off balance, could regain his footing, Dean spun his spear and swung it towards his neck.
A brilliant golden line split the air in two.
There was a moment’s silence.
Then... the angel’s head slowly separated from his body.
Within just a few breaths, the three enemy angels lay sprawled at Dean’s feet.
The battle outside the wooded area seemed to have paused for a moment.
Both friendly and enemy angels had involuntarily turned their gaze towards Dean.
None of them had expected a human to be capable of such a feat.
At that moment, Percival had managed to summon his strength and, whilst the three enemy angels’ attention was diverted, had managed to throw them off him.
He then swung his sword repeatedly and managed to cut down these three enemy angels within seconds.
Just as Percival turned round and looked towards his master with a smile, his expression changed instantly.
"MASTER!" Percival shouted.
Now the main enemy had made its move.
The commander of the enemy hunter angels had leapt upon Dean.
