Dean had only just begun to pull himself together when, all of a sudden, he managed to catch sight of this system window.
As if he knew exactly what was about to happen, he took a deep breath and said, "Percival, as soon as we’re back, go outside and tell Liam to call a doctor. As quickly as possible."
As soon as these words formed in his mind, a shimmer of light appeared around him, and before vanishing, Dean tossed a one-million banknote behind him by way of thanks.
When the shimmer of light enveloped him, the young man closed his eyes, only to open them again in reality a short while later.
Percival had instantly separated from his body, and the necessary procedures were carried out in no time.
Dean had undergone numerous tests in a short space of time.
It was as if a small hospital had been set up in his castle.
With Raviel’s arrival at the castle within hours, the gravity of the situation had become apparent not only to the servants but also to the doctors.
Dean must not come to any harm.
The tests had concluded and the next day had arrived.
When morning came, the young man saw his bedroom door open.
He had IVs attached to his arm, and his body was almost entirely bandaged. He looked strange, but at least for the moment he was safe, and there was no doubt he was alive.
As the door opened, three doctors entered the room.
Dean could see that something was different.
All three doctors were imbued with Holy Power. It could be said that their levels of Holy Power were quite high.
So...
All three were Players. And not just any Players, but three of the most experienced ones.
The elderly doctor smiled slightly.
"You’ve finally woken up, young master Decanus. You’ve been in a coma for three days."
Dean tried to speak.
But only a hoarse whisper emerged from his throat.
The doctor raised his hand.
"Please don’t strain yourself; your body is in a terrible state. We need to brief you first."
The young female doctor beside him opened the tablet in her hand.
"If you were an ordinary person... you wouldn’t be alive right now."
Dean’s brows furrowed.
The doctor scrolled through the CT scan images on the screen.
"Thousands of micro-tears have formed throughout your muscle tissue," said the middle-aged doctor.
"There were contusions on your right shoulder," he added.
"Four of your ribs were fractured," noted the female doctor.
"The tendons in your arms were stretched to the point of rupture, and there was serious damage to your joints," remarked the older doctor.
Dean listened in silence.
The young female doctor continued.
"From the first X-rays we took, we detected hundreds of microscopic fractures, young master."
"However, when we took the same X-rays again twenty-four hours later... all the fractures had disappeared."
The elderly doctor took over.
"Not only had they vanished, but on top of that, your bone density had increased by approximately ninety-eight per cent."
"This is not a change that can be explained biologically. You possess a bone structure so robust that it could literally be described as beyond the human realm."
The third doctor suddenly produced a stone from his kit.
Dean, not knowing what the stone was, stared at it with curious eyes; the elderly doctor, noticing this, spoke:
"This is an energy meter. Although we don’t possess vast knowledge of the Nether and the Aether, human technologies are surprisingly good at measuring energy. We’re going to measure just how powerful the Holy Power within your body is."
He placed the Holy Power measuring crystal on the bed.
"We repeated this measurement countless times yesterday... Still, we must tell you the truth, young master."
The crystal suddenly began to glow with a golden light.
"That was what really surprised us."
Dean looked at the crystal.
The elderly doctor took a deep breath.
"We were trying to measure your energy level. To be honest, during the first measurement we thought the device had malfunctioned, which is why we brought the second one."
When the elderly doctor had finished speaking, the young female doctor continued:
"It gave the same result."
Dean asked slowly. He’d forced himself to speak despite his body’s resistance and managed to speak in a faint voice:
"What sort of result?"
The doctor replied with a serious expression:
"You’ve reached Mid-Grade Second-Level Holy Power within a few weeks. That’s...an unimaginable pace. What’s more, there’s a slight difference between the level we measured yesterday and the one we measured today. It’s as if your body is producing Holy Power, albeit at an extremely, unimaginably slow rate."
Following these words, he added:
"There isn’t a single record in the history of the game of this happening naturally. It’s no wonder your body has suffered so much damage."
A brief silence fell over the room.
After a short while, the elderly doctor spoke again:
"I’ve been playing the game for exactly sixteen years. During the time I’ve worked under the Evergold family, I’ve only managed to reach Mid-Grade Fourth-Level. Of course, another reason for this is that I don’t practise serious meditation and have no aptitude for it. Still, it’s a difficult feat to achieve unless you’re a genius."
The young female doctor smiled slightly.
"As for me, I’m at Mid-Grade Third-Level. It took me two years."
The third doctor shrugged.
"None of the Player doctors working at this hospital have managed to reach the level you achieved in just a few weeks, young sir. We’re not saying this to flatter you."
Dean’s eyes widened involuntarily.
The elderly doctor approached the edge of the bed.
"It’s not just that your Holy Power has grown stronger. Your body has also been reshaped to adapt to it. Your skin is more resilient, your muscle fibres are denser, your blood vessels have dilated to accommodate the flow of Holy Power, and we’ve even detected a marked increase in your nerve conduction speed."
The doctors fell silent after all these words.
Dean was breathing deeply. Although his body had healed to a great extent, the blood he had lost and the mental damage he had sustained were quite severe.
He would need to rest for at least a few more days.
That was what he would do.
He thanked the doctors as calmly as he could.
Dean could now be left to rest.
