I Conquer Hell and Heaven With 666 Trillion Coins
Chapter 71: Well...There is a WayAfter the duel, Dean had told Harry that he needed to wait for his family; when Raviel mentioned that she’d sent a few men to fetch them, he’d decided it was time to get some rest.
It wouldn’t be long before midday.
After a quick shower, he dressed smartly and went straight to the dining room.
He opted for a pre-lunch cup of tea and a steak; once he’d finished his meal, he began talking to Raviel.
He recounted everything that had happened, without mentioning the certainty of the Spear of Dawn’s existence.
Raviel couldn’t find anything to say.
This dungeon was a very challenging one for someone who’d only just started playing the game.
Throughout all this time, the worry in Raviel’s beautiful eyes was clearly visible.
"This... is something I need to report, Dean," she said suddenly.
Dean wasn’t quite sure what to make of those words. To him, the question of who a woman like Raviel would need to report to was... how should he put it... a mystery.
Though it was something he would learn in a very short space of time.
As the conversation progressed, Dean found himself the chance to ask Raviel another question that had been on his mind.
"Raviel, tell me, how can I get hold of Summon-Contracts?"
At Dean’s question, Raviel’s attention shifted back to him from the laptop in front of her.
"Some people sell these contracts, but to be honest, they aren’t particularly valuable. These are the lowest-level contracts, capable of binding even the lowest-level ghosts," Raviel replied.
"Do you know where I can get stronger contracts?" Dean asked with great curiosity.
"Of course. From the same places we get almost everything: auctions or street vendors. In short, from within the Aether or the Nether," Raviel had replied.
Dean took a deep breath at these words.
To be honest, the fact that he could command anyone he wanted was plain to see. He simply needed to possess the contract.
He didn’t want the people he recruited to be low-level ghosts. The fact that he’d nearly died in the previous dungeon had practically instilled this thought in him.
Perhaps that was why he was feeling a little afraid.
Come to think of it, it wasn’t really possible for him not to be afraid.
He’d literally had a brush with death.
Dean was lost in his own thoughts when Raviel suddenly spoke:
"By the way, Dean."
"Hmm?"
"There’s going to be a summit next week. A summit regarding the alliances of high-ranking players or established families. Would you like to attend?"
When Dean heard this question, rather than answering straight away, he chose to think for a few seconds.
Even if his identity remained undisclosed, attending this ’summit’ meeting with Raviel could lead to him meeting more people.
In fact, if luck were on his side, he might even manage to secure a high-quality contract.
This thought had piqued his curiosity immensely.
He had to admit it had also excited him a little.
Still, Dean could understand the real reason why the woman right next to him had asked him that question.
Evergold was, naturally, trying to gain more influence. That was perfectly understandable.
After all, Dean’s mere presence in the room could bring them additional benefits.
To tell the truth.
Dean was currently a figure everyone would want to get their hands on, to draw to their side, and, if they couldn’t get their hands on him, to eliminate.
At least that is what he thought.
A being who possessed more money than they could ever imagine, and who could live as he pleased in both the Aether and the Nether, was far too dangerous.
To put it simply, Dean was, at that moment, an ’alien’ to those living within the Earth-Realm.
Raviel Evergold, however, wanted to use him.
He wanted to demonstrate the existence of such a man, such an alien, to the Evergold family.
Dean was no fool.
He didn’t need to let himself be used.
Still, revealing his own existence, being present in front of everyone, didn’t seem like it would lead to a bad outcome for him either.
After all, he was now MUCH stronger than he had been before. What’s more, he possessed the Mask of Mist.
It was certain that he would be safe as long as he wasn’t subjected to a direct attack.
"So you want to use me?" Dean had blurted out suddenly.
When Raviel heard this question, she swallowed hard. The expression on the beautiful woman’s face had changed; to be honest, it was a mixture of slight anxiety and sadness.
"You can be honest, you know? I’m already getting a lot of help from the Evergold family. You don’t need to pretend you’re not keeping an eye on me. As if all the maids, butlers and guards didn’t exist," Dean had said.
These words were a little hurtful, especially for a woman like Raviel.
Raviel... was a very hard-working person. She was one of her family’s heirs. She might have had an older brother and two younger sisters, but it was an undeniable fact that she was the face of the family.
This meant that even three or four hours’ sleep a day was a rarity for her; even when she wasn’t entering the dungeons, she was overseeing thousands of factories around the world, either in person or digitally.
Yet this woman was still observing Dean, an important asset to the Evergold family, and her own friend.
Dean might well be an inescapable reality for the Evergold family, someone they ought not to make an enemy of, but Raviel felt as though she had made a friend for the first time in her long life.
So when Dean spoke those words to her, she felt a little hurt. Even though what he said was entirely true.
"We wish to use you, that is correct, but not like this; I just wanted to invite you as a friend, I promise," Raviel had said.
When Dean heard these words, he took a deep breath and replied, "Very well. I’d like to come."
The pair, however, did not speak to one another again for the rest of the day.
