I Conquer Hell and Heaven With 666 Trillion Coins
Chapter 75: Olympos...For a Short TimeThe golden halls of Olympus had never felt so cold.
Sunlight poured through towering pillars carved from flawless white marble, yet it failed to chase away the tension hanging over the divine throne room.
The polished floor reflected the endless sky beneath the mountain, while banners embroidered with ancient victories swayed without wind, as though the palace itself held its breath.
At the centre of the hall sat Zeus upon his immense throne of gold and ivory.
His fingers drummed against one armrest, each tap echoing through the chamber like distant thunder.
The storm clouds gathering beyond the open colonnades betrayed the irritation he struggled to conceal.
Hera stood several steps below him, regal as ever, though her expression had hardened into one of quiet outrage.
Athena remained composed, her spear resting against one shoulder, silver eyes calmly observing everything.
Far from the discussion, standing beside one of the towering columns, Nemesis remained perfectly still. She neither interrupted nor reacted outwardly. Her crimson gaze followed the speakers, every word settling into her thoughts.
She was still searching for the possibility of Apollo’s acts.
"The Treasury has been breached," Zeus finally said.
No one answered.
His voice carried enough weight to make the marble tremble.
"It has stood untouched since before the first kingdoms of Aether. Titans failed to enter it. Giants failed. Even gods require my seal to cross its threshold."
"And yet," Hera replied evenly, "Someone succeeded."
The silence that followed was heavier than any accusation.
Zeus clenched his jaw.
"They bypassed every divine ward."
"They did not bypass them," Athena corrected. "They disabled them."
Zeus turned toward her.
"There is a difference."
Athena stepped closer, folding her arms.
"If brute force had been used, Olympus would have felt it immediately. The wards were unravelled with precision. Every seal was opened in the correct sequence."
"A god."
"Not necessarily."
Zeus frowned.
"No mortal possesses such knowledge. No ordinary mortal. Not even an immortal."
The distinction lingered.
Hera looked between them.
"You imply assistance."
"I imply preparation," Athena answered. "Whoever entered knew exactly where to walk, which inscriptions to avoid, and how long each seal remained dormant."
Zeus rose from his throne.
Lightning briefly flickered around his shoulders.
"There are only a handful of beings alive with that knowledge."
"Then begin naming them," Hera said.
"They are all loyal."
"Loyalty," Hera replied sharply, "is easiest to believe until it fails."
Athena lowered her gaze for only a moment before speaking again.
"The missing object concerns me more than the thief."
"It concerns all of us."
Hera’s normally steady voice carried unmistakable concern.
"If its power is unleashed..."
She stopped herself.
Even speaking of its potential seemed dangerous.
Athena continued for her.
"Then the skies themselves become vulnerable."
Zeus looked toward the open heavens beyond the palace.
"There are realms that have survived countless wars, and Aether is on top of those realms. But now..."
His voice had become quieter.
"That artefact could erase them."
"It could do worse," Athena replied.
"The ancient records describe only fragments of its capability. Every complete account was deliberately destroyed."
"Because knowledge invites temptation," Hera answered.
"Exactly."
Again, silence. This time for just a couple of seconds.
Nemesis remained motionless; not even the folds of her dark robes shifted; she simply listened.
Zeus slowly descended the steps from his throne.
"Who benefits from something like this?" he asked. One literally could see the face that he was showing.
It was not madness; he wasn’t particularly angry. It was just that he was wondering, more than any other could imagine.
"The Underworld?" Hera suggested, and with that Athena shook her head.
"Hades understands balance too well. I don’t think it is him," said Zeus suddenly. It seemed like he trusted his brother more than others would think he does.
"The Titans," Hera spoke once more.
"They lack the means," said Zeus.
"The Giants," Athena suggested, looking almost too worried.
"They lack the subtlety; they will be shot down with all kinds of energies before they could reach here," he replied.
After that, Zeus exhaled sharply.
"So every obvious answer is impossible."
"Not impossible."
Athena’s voice remained calm.
"Convenient."
Zeus narrowed his eyes and simply said: "You suspect deception."
"I suspect someone wants us looking exactly where expectation tells us."
Hera crossed her arms.
"A hidden enemy perhaps. One we could not even see," she said.
"Or one standing in plain sight," she added to her own words.
The words settled heavily throughout the hall. surveyed the chamber. His gaze briefly passed over Nemesis. She did not move.
Not even enough to acknowledge being noticed.
She simply stood in silence, as though carved from obsidian.
Finally, Zeus looked away.
"There were no signs of battle."
Athena nodded.
"Nor signs of haste. The thief walked."
"Yes," she said.
"They were confident."
"Exactly," she added once more.
"They expected not to be interrupted."
Athena gave a single nod.
"Which means they knew precisely when the Treasury would be unattended. We can say it is not Hephaestus. He is too dumb to break into a treasury he forged."
Hera’s eyes widened ever so slightly.
"Someone revealed the schedule, or maybe it is one of those who already knew about it."
"Or observed it for centuries," Zeus said.
Zeus closed his fist.
Thunder rolled across the heavens outside.
"I will summon every guardian," Zeus said, ordering it.
"They will answer," said Hera before simply nodding once.
"I will question every divine servant," Zeus said again.
"They will answer," said Athena, bowing her head.
"I will search the three main realms."
Athena’s expression never changed.
"And if none of them is guilty?"
Zeus stopped. The question echoed more loudly than the thunder. For the first time since entering the hall, uncertainty found the King of Olympus.
Hera spoke softly.
"Then we face an enemy we have never seen."
Athena looked toward the endless sky beyond the columns.
"An enemy patient enough to wait centuries."
Her eyes returned to Zeus.
"And bold enough to steal the one thing no one should ever possess."
The storm outside intensified. Lightning illuminated the golden pillars.
Still, Nemesis said nothing.
Hidden within the silence of the hall, she watched the gods argue over shadows while the absence of a single unnamed relic threatened every realm that existed above the clouds.
If that was the thing Dean had warned her about, then it just showed that all of it was real.
Whatever she was going to do, she NEEDED to find the culprit.
Before everything falls on Hermes.
