The spirits who had bestowed the new skills gradually disappeared.

Ethan was checking the skill descriptions.

Raul, however, had a look of utter shock, he remained frozen for a long while before finally speaking.

"I can actually converse with the spirits?!"

"Oh~! Congratulations, meow~!"

"Congratulations, congratulations."

Pearl and Jake offered their congratulations one after another, but Raul still looked completely bewildered.

Seeing his reaction, Ethan asked Pearl, "What’s wrong? Is this very important?"

"Meow! Of course it’s important, meow! According to tradition, only a beastman who can speak with the spirits has the qualification to become the Great Chieftain of the south, meow," Pearl explained.

"However, the number of beastmen who could talk to spirits kept decreasing until they completely disappeared, that is why it was changed to having the various tribal chiefs elect the Great Chieftain instead."

"Now that Raul has gained the ability to converse with the spirits, it is equivalent to him gaining the qualification to become the Great Chieftain," Jake added.

"The southern region has this kind of tradition? The other regions don’t have a Great Chieftain..." Ethan said in surprise.

"Every region has its own unique characteristics, meow, anyway, as long as nothing unexpected happens, Raul should be able to become the Great Chieftain of the southern beastmen, meow," Pearl said.

Ethan nodded and applauded Raul.

Raul stood stunned for a moment, scratched his cheek, and shook his head. "I’m not sure if I’m up to the task."

"The capable do more work, meow, don’t overthink it, meow," Pearl comforted.

"I-Is that so? Thank you!"

"By the way, what skill did you get, meow?" Pearl asked curiously.

"Me? This one." Ethan picked up a clay pot from the altar that contained a beverage.

Gripping the pot, he activated Frost.

Crack!

Perhaps because he hadn’t injected much mana, only the surface of the drink began to freeze.

Pearl watched with great curiosity.

Ethan handed the clay pot over.

"It’s so cool and refreshing, meow!!" Pearl said happily.

"Oh?! Really? Make a cup for me too!" Zharok shouted.

"Everyone come over, let’s all have a drink together," Ethan said.

Sharing the food after a ritual was tradition. Ethan used his new skill to turn the rest of the drinks into smoothies, then brought out the dishes that had already cooled down a bit.

"Let’s eat and chat."

"Good idea!"

"Meow~! It looks so delicious, meow~!"

"Then I won’t hold back."

"Uh... can we really eat this?!" Raul looked at the food, feeling somewhat hesitant.

The spirits had already left, so it should be fine, Ethan took the lead, picking up a piece of savory pancake and putting it into his mouth.

Nothing unusual, he didn’t feel anything out of the ordinary, so, he gave a reassuring nod.

Only then did Raul hesitantly pick up a piece.

"The Spirit Ritual has been successfully completed, next, we should head to the ancient ruins, are you alright to go?" Jake asked, worried that Ethan might be exhausted.

This Spirit Ritual had been handled almost entirely by Ethan alone, but he simply shook his head.

He didn’t feel particularly tired, nor did he feel it had been too strenuous.

"There are still a lot of ingredients left over, so it should be no problem."

"That’s good, if you need anything, just let me know," Jake said.

Ethan didn’t really need anything and was just about to shake his head when a thought struck him.

"By the way, do you know how to make a World Tree seed sprout?"

"A World Tree seed? You actually have something like that?!" Jake asked in astonishment.

"Yes." Ethan took out the World Tree seed.

Jake’s eyes lit up at once, and he examined the seed with intense curiosity. "To think I would actually be able to see a World Tree seed with my own eyes, I will go back and check my historical records to see if there is any documentation regarding the World Tree."

The historical scholar was clearly fascinated.

Seeing Jake in such high spirits, Ethan smiled, he stuffed the remaining pancake into his mouth.

They finished the meal and cleaned up the leftovers.

Just then, a cool, refreshing breeze blew past — a far cry from the sweltering gusts of before.

Pearl faced the breeze and purred with comfort.

"The temperature in the south has returned to normal, meow!" it said happily.

"Then the weather in the Central Region should be back to normal as well," Ethan said.

"Hmm? What happened to the weather in the Central Region?" Jake asked.

"It got a bit hotter than usual, the children and the physically weaker beastmen could definitely feel it," Ethan explained.

’So that was why the Minotaur children had lost their appetites — the weather was just too hot.’ Ethan recalled the events at the Minotaur village and nodded to himself.

Now that the temperature had normalized, the children probably wouldn’t suffer from a lack of appetite anymore, that was truly great news.

"Let’s head down the hill," Ethan said.

As they descended the Hill of Spirits, they saw many beastmen cheering and leaping with joy.

They, too, had felt the cool breeze arriving.

"Well done!"

"That’s amazing!"

"This damn heat is finally over! Human! Thank you for your hard work!"

Whether it was Ape Beastmen he knew or beastmen he was meeting for the first time, they all came forward to express their gratitude.

Ethan waved his hand. "If you want to thank me, just give me some southern fruits or seeds."

"I have already instructed them to gather some," Lachipi said, stepping from the crowd.

Behind him, several Ape Beastmen were holding large leather bags, Ethan opened one and saw that it was completely filled with seeds.

"These are Black Dragon Fruit seeds, these are Red Mango seeds, these are Frost Fruit seeds, and these are..."

The bags contained the seeds of various southern fruits and crops. More than enough for his greenhouse.

"Pearl, do you know how to plant these things?" Ethan asked.

"Meow, I have a general idea, meow," Pearl answered.

Perfect. Ethan nodded in deep satisfaction.

He had acquired Fire of the Spirits to control flame temperatures, and Frost to create ice, moreover, he had obtained so many seeds, this journey had been an overwhelming success.

"What happened after the Spirit Ritual ended?" Lachipi asked.

Ethan recounted the events.

When Lachipi heard that Raul had gained the ability to converse with the spirits, his eyes went wide, he stared at Raul.

"You gained this ability?"

"Yes!" Raul answered.

Hearing his confirmation, the surrounding beastmen broke into shocked discussions.

"He can talk to the spirits?"

"It’s been so incredibly long since we’ve seen a beastman who can converse with the spirits!"
