I Love Destroying Worlds' Plot [BL]
Chapter 2201 - 25.91 Lone Black Star - Invisible OpponentsAt the frontlines in the space battlefield...
Under the command of the Lieutenant that had taken over, the temporary leadership had followed the advice of the crown princess and halted the invasion of the incoming zerg troop coming for them. He had to attack them in range while preventing them from getting closer. As for those sneaky bugs that entered the territory of the humans, the Crown Princess commanded a small group of powerful sentinels to eliminate them. He had spread his divine consciousness within their territory finding the traces of these hidden anomalies that entered their place. It is almost impossible for something mortal to hide under the eyes of a divinity.
The crown princess, Ye Caoyun, used a bit of divinity energy just to pinpoint the direct location of those who wanted to sneak inside their territory. The sentinels who were commanded were asked to follow the command of the crown princess without hesitation. Even though there was nothing in front of them as their eyes had suggested, they followed the command coming from their ears.
In an empty hallway near the hospital area, some soldiers pretended to be passing by as if they were on patrol. In their ears are communication devices connected to the command center and the leader at this moment is none other than the crown princess, Ye Caoyun.
In their ears, {Do not hesitate! Kick in front of you,} The voice of the crown princess said in their communicator and the soldier who had received that command kicked the air before him without hesitation.
He didn’t hold back with that kick and even if he ended up acting like a fool this soldier sentinel followed the commands. Unexpectedly, even though there is nothing in front of him his leg had contact with something solid. The moment he had this feeling he didn’t hesitate to add more power, as for the other soldiers who had received a similar command and felt the same thing had turned serious at this moment. Sounds of something hitting the walls were heard and some distortions on the wall appeared and the scent of zerg blood spread in the area.
THUD!
Shrieks~
This is the sound of the zerg who was taken out the moment it was kicked to death by a soldier. Some images flickered in the area and every soldier saw it before it disappeared again. They had instantly isolated this hallway blocking both ends.
A soldier cursed, "Damn! There is truly something here!"
"Be on guard! Don’t move without orders!"
"This is creepy! Since when do bugs know tactics like this!"
"Shut up! Split and block both paths!" The leader of this small group commanded.
After blocking the path to escape they waited for the command of the crown princess. This time they were serious and were intently listening. This is an invisible opponent. Not only deadly but something they couldn’t sense at all. It seems that their crown princess had a way to sense these invisible enemies.
{On is climbing at the roof. 60 seconds before it jumped on the one in the middle. The other is to turn away to the other side. Focus on your right side, kill it at the 20 seconds mark!}
The soldiers followed the command word. When the crown princess said 60 seconds, they counted the numbers at heart before attacking and they had indeed captured it and stabbed through it from above, the green blood of the zerg race fell from above avoided by the soldiers after making sure it was dead by cutting its head off. It seems the invisibility ability of these bugs disappears once they are badly wounded.
{This area is cleared but since it’s near the hospital area please clean it up to avoid infection to occur in this area.}
Those who had sneaked into human territory had all been dealt with. Now Ye Caoyun can focus on the frontlines which are being commanded to keep the line while they attack at the range. The failure of those who had sneaked inside seems to have been learned by the Zerg Prince and it shrieks in anger. There are also some assassins sneaking in the frontlines’ confrontation. Some were shot down by the rain of attacks on the battlefield but some had successfully gotten closer, attacking the people from their side slowly increasing their advantage to themselves.
Most leaders in the command center noticed this and frowned. They had seen a video of a soldier whose hand was suddenly cut out of nowhere with them seeing who the attacker was. Once the crown princess saw this her expression turned serious.
"What is this? Something invisible is attacking our soldiers?"
"Since when can zergs turn themselves invisible?"
Ye Caoyun shared what he knew and said, "Not all zergs can use this skill. It is supposed to be exclusive among a certain kind of bug. But for some reason, this skill had been utilized by them. It seems someone is raising the insect race causing them not only to mutate but also to evolve."
"You mean the mastermind had enough power to create changes in its genes!?"
"That is a power exclusive to a god. An ability to create or recreate things is a divine ability."
"Is the one attacking our empire a god level existence?"
The people in the command room all turned serious and quiet. They are just mortals but all of the sudden a god aided their enemy, the insect race, making them stronger and even evolve when they aren’t supposed to do so. Just as the soldiers were about to question the world the words of the crown princess had awakened them,
"Our Empire had gods too! Have you forgotten about the ancestors coming back? They taught us the proper way of using our abilities. They also helped us with enhancing our physique and even taught us skills that made our original strength even stronger. It’s similar to this zerg race. It was just them evolving. We too were given a chance to get stronger."
"The God from the enemy side can only interfere this way. If it truly appears one day to attack our empire then the ancestors will not turn blind eye on us. Once a god interfered with the mortals, the other gods would come out as well. They follow different rules from us. They can only make a move and their same kind has done something and crossed a line they shouldn’t have."
The silence in the command room had stretched even more and most eyes had landed on the crown princess who had explained the situation in a way they could understand. Though the adults didn’t know how someone as young as the crown princess knew of such things, thinking of his master, they can only accept it as something taught by the First Empress to his disciple which is the crown princess, Ye Caoyun.
Ye Caoyun added, "Either, the battle of the Gods had nothing to do with it right now. We should focus on the enemy within our line of sight. The Zerg Prince will be making a move soon. Those invisible zergs there is a way to see them or at least sense them but only those who control mental energy can do it. You need guides to fight with you on the battlefield."
The moment the crown princess said this, the protective nature of the sentinels. Their faces turned a bit on the rejection side of the subject yet Ye Caoyun remained calm as he noticed this. He is a guide himself yet his own sentinel never stopped him from going to the battlefield. The only reason the crown princess didn’t force his way in this battlefield was only because it was his parents who were trying to stop him. If not for them he would have longed to stand at the frontlines fighting together with everyone else.
"But a guide had a weaker physique and if they got attacked by the enemy how will they be able to survive out there!?" a sentinel said.
"Stop looking down on guides. Don’t forget who was protecting you whenever there was a mental attack." The Crown Princess retorted. "Moreover, didn’t most guides in the military have undergone tempering? Their bodies are now enhanced and the weakest grade is A grade. It can be compared to a B-grade sentinel’s physique level."
"They were also taught how to fight the battle their own way. They can fight with mental energy or lighter weapons. At the very least, they can protect their own lives on their own."
"Why do you think they are weak? Why do you think they only exist to heal their sentinel? Who are we supposed to heal if you died in the frontlines alone? Can’t we just fight alongside you? We are willing. Or are you just treating us as a canary that is supposed to wait at home for you to go home? I at the very least is willing to die beside my sentinel fighting than to wait at home going crazy, praying to nonexistent gods for my partner’s safety."
The guide in front of them wears a serious expression and looks straight into their eyes without any fear. This is the first time the sentinels had thought of something. Have they ever asked their guides what they truly wanted?
