Chapter 553: Chapter 553: A Vulnerable Group Lives Here?

Theo Rhodes was a little confused. "Professor Sinclair, what kind of danger?"

Claire Sinclair’s gaze fell on Landon Winston, who was focused on the road. "He’s my driver and my bodyguard."

It finally dawned on Theo Rhodes. "I get it! Professor Sinclair, don’t worry. I know judo. If anyone dares to hurt you, I’ll be the first to go after them."

His words made Claire Sinclair laugh. ’It’s rare to find such a sincere young man. Plus, Teacher Hartwell was the one who hired him. He must have a lot of potential.’

After a few minutes, the car stopped in front of a large flower market.

The two of them got out of the car, and Theo Rhodes couldn’t help but ask, "Professor Sinclair, what are we doing here?"

Claire Sinclair said casually, "First, you can help me buy a few things inside."

"Oh." Although he didn’t understand what they were doing, Theo Rhodes obediently followed her inside.

Claire Sinclair bought numerous flower seedlings and bags of flower seeds. By the time she was finished, the trunk could barely hold everything.

Once they were back in the car, Theo Rhodes noticed they were taking an unfamiliar route and couldn’t resist asking, "Professor Sinclair, where are we going now?"

"We’re going to visit the disadvantaged."

"Oh." ’That sounds rather noble,’ he thought.

After about twenty minutes, the car arrived at its destination: The Golden Brocade Palace, the palatial villa that Ethan Kingsley had given to Ivy Tanner.

Theo Rhodes’s jaw dropped in astonishment. He muttered, "Professor Sinclair, this is where the disadvantaged live?"

Claire Sinclair glanced at him but offered no explanation, simply heading inside.

Landon Winston began unloading the items from the trunk, getting the staff from The Golden Brocade Palace to help carry them. The group formed quite a procession as they followed Claire Sinclair.

Theo Rhodes watched the scene unfold, completely bewildered but unsure of who to ask.

After a few minutes’ walk, they arrived at the villa’s entrance.

A petite figure ran out of the villa and threw her arms around Claire Sinclair. "Sinclair! Sinclair!"

Claire Sinclair gently pushed her back, smiling. "I brought you some presents. Go see if you like them."

Ivy Tanner glanced back, then started jumping up and down with delight. "Flora! I love Flora! Thank you, Sinclair!"

Claire Sinclair smiled. "Alright, settle down. Some of these flowers might be tricky to plant. If you don’t know what to do, you can ask someone for help, or you can call me. I can look it up online for you."

"Okay, okay!!" Ivy Tanner bobbed her head like a woodpecker.

Claire Sinclair added, "I’m going out of town on business tomorrow. I might be gone for quite a few days, so you need to take good care of yourself."

"Oh..." Reluctance filled Ivy Tanner’s eyes.

Claire Sinclair said one last thing, "Call me if you need anything. If you can’t reach me, then call this number."

With that, she took a pen and a slip of paper from her purse, jotted down Aiden Howkins’s number, and handed it to Ivy Tanner.

Ivy Tanner looked at the numbers on the paper and nodded.

Without another word, Claire Sinclair turned and left.

Theo Rhodes couldn’t help but glance back at the girl standing blankly at the villa entrance. He had so many questions but didn’t dare to ask.

It wasn’t until they were back in the car that he finally spoke up. "Professor Sinclair, that girl... she seemed a little odd, didn’t she?"

Claire Sinclair sighed softly and said in a low voice, "It’s just as you saw. Third Miss Tanner is mentally challenged. That villa belongs to Ethan Kingsley; he’s letting her stay there for the time being."

Realization dawned on Theo Rhodes. "Oh, so that’s it. I was wondering why such a massive villa would be home to someone who’s... mentally challenged."

’So that’s what she meant by "the disadvantaged"!’
