I Tame Beasts by Feeding

Chapter 284 - 250: The Final Battle

Chapter 284: Chapter 250: The Final Battle

"That’s it? I won?"

Realization dawned on Yu Changsheng. After recalling his tamed beasts to his Inner Realm, he frowned at Wang Junjie on the other side of the stage.

The match had been much easier than he’d imagined. He hadn’t even gone all out, yet Wang Junjie had lost as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

Anyone with eyes could see that Wang Junjie had thrown the match on purpose.

Across from him, Wang Junjie just smiled faintly, a profound look in his eyes. Without offering any explanation, he leaped cleanly off the arena stage.

’Did Yang Chengxu put him up to this, wanting to deal with me himself? Or does he want me to face Yang Chengxu to diminish his prestige?’

Yu Changsheng’s brow furrowed. He took a deep breath, his thoughts a tangled mess, but he quickly formed a guess.

’Forget it. I have to face Yang Chengxu eventually anyway. I’ll just see what happens tomorrow.’

Yu Changsheng looked up at Mo Pengchen on the high platform. He saw Mo Pengchen give him a faint smile, his gaze appreciative yet tinged with a hint of helpless bitterness. Beside him, Mu Yongxian’s expression was composed, showing no surprise whatsoever.

"He won so easily. Wang Junjie must have thrown the match, right?"

"On purpose? What is the Spirit Dragon Sect plotting? Or was this Yang Chengxu’s doing?"

"Does he want to face Yu Changsheng himself? Is he trying to completely humiliate our Wanxiang Sect?"

Below the stage, the Wanxiang Sect disciples broke into a flurry of discussion and speculation. The members of the Spirit Dragon Sect were just as confused, but they didn’t let it show.

To them, the outcome of this one match wasn’t particularly important. After all, this wasn’t the main event, and the final result was always going to be Yang Chengxu’s complete victory anyway.

Similarly, even though tomorrow’s final hadn’t started yet, most of the Wanxiang Sect disciples held out little hope. Yu Changsheng had certainly impressed them, but that was as far as it went.

If he were to truly face Yang Chengxu, they all believed Yang Chengxu would be the ultimate victor. After all, even Zhang Tianwen had been defeated.

For a moment, a somber mood fell over the Wanxiang Sect. All eyes shifted to Yu Changsheng, only to be followed by shaking heads and soft sighs.

Even Mo Pengchen felt a sense of melancholy. In truth, most people believed that when the match between Zhang Tianwen and Yang Chengxu concluded, the outcome of the entire competition had been decided.

Everyone else was just along for the ride.

But the show had to go on. Regardless of what anyone else thought, the final match arrived as scheduled.

Early the next day, the grounds were already packed with people. The Spirit Dragon Sect’s area was filled with excitement, with Yang Chengxu standing at its heart, surrounded by his fellows like the moon by stars.

"Do your best. The honor of our Wanxiang Sect rests on your shoulders."

After a night of recovery, Zhang Tianwen’s complexion looked much healthier. His eyes held a look of encouragement as he spoke softly to Yu Changsheng.

"That’s right, don’t feel too much pressure. Changsheng, just do your best. No matter the outcome, we’ll all go for drinks at my Ten Thousand Beasts Tower when it’s over!"

Li Minghan thought for a moment before adding with a chuckle.

Sun Shihan simply smiled at Yu Changsheng, gently told him to be careful, and then stepped back.

As for the other Wanxiang Sect disciples, most of them also cast well-meaning glances toward Yu Changsheng. Although they didn’t have much confidence in him, no one was about to say anything demoralizing at a time like this.

"I’ll do my best. Thankfully, Senior Brother Zhang’s actions yesterday crippled one of Yang Chengxu’s greatest assets. Otherwise, this match would be impossible," Yu Changsheng said with a wry, slightly helpless smile, though inwardly he felt calm.

To him, Yang Chengxu was certainly dazzling and powerful, but that was all.

"The final match between Yu Changsheng of the Wanxiang Sect and Yang Chengxu of the Spirit Dragon Sect begins now!"

From the high platform, Mo Pengchen and Mu Yongxian spoke in unison, their voices booming across the grounds. As the array on the stage flared to life, Yu Changsheng and Yang Chengxu leaped simultaneously, landing on the stage like two streaking rainbows to face each other from opposite sides.

"Zhang Tianwen is a worthy opponent. He knew he was no match for me, and he knew my Celestial Shadow Dragon’s status was unstable, so he saved that move from the start. His goal was to create an opportunity for you."

Yang Chengxu said with a faint smile, his tone nonchalant and his gaze calm. As he spoke, his Celestial Cyan Sub-Dragon appeared, circling in the air above and enveloping the area with a faint, oppressive aura.

"But while he created the opportunity for you, whether or not you can seize it is up to you. He certainly thinks highly of you. Coincidentally, I’m quite interested in you as well."

"ROAR!!!"

The Celestial Cyan Sub-Dragon cried out, its massive body coiling in the air. The arrogance radiating from Yang Chengxu merged with the dragon’s might, each amplifying the other.

Yu Changsheng didn’t speak. He simply shook his head and, with a wave of his hand, summoned his Colorful Star Deer, Red Refining Snake, and Golden-Winged Eagle.

Even though the Celestial Shadow Dragon wouldn’t be appearing in this fight, Yu Changsheng still felt uncertain.

Fortunately, thanks to the groundwork laid by Li Minghan and Zhang Tianwen, he had a general understanding of Yang Chengxu’s techniques and wouldn’t be caught completely off guard.

"Three little minnows. Their potential isn’t bad, but compared to a Celestial Cyan Sub-Dragon, they’re far from enough."

Seeing Yu Changsheng’s tamed beasts appear, the disdain on Yang Chengxu’s face deepened, but his actions betrayed no hint of carelessness.

The moment the match began, he nodded to his Celestial Cyan Sub-Dragon. In an instant, a brilliant cyan light flooded the stage, flashing between heaven and earth. Within it, the phantoms of a blazing sun and a bright moon rose into the air.

"Celestial Cyan Day and Moonlight!"

Regardless of what Yang Chengxu truly thought, he showed not a shred of carelessness now that he was facing Yu Changsheng.
