[Divine Spell – Divine Gift]: Strength +2 for 6 minutes.

This Divine Spell proved quite useful for Xander.

His strength had always been his weakest attribute. During the earlier clash with the Shadow Spider Assassin, it was precisely this deficiency that left him suppressed.

His primary objective was eliminating the Blight Envoy. Everything else could wait.

It took only a few steps to close the distance.

This time, the Envoy could not rely on spells like Putrefaction Whirlpool.

He had already expended it before Gordian’s arrival, and it was one of his few interrupting Divine Spells.

Facing the charging Xander, the Blight Envoy cursed under his breath. He unexpectedly reached behind his back and drew a large two-handed sword!

Xander was startled and dodged hastily!

---

Damn it!

This guy is actually a fighter!

This revelation gave Xander a headache!

He hadn’t expected the Blight Envoy to be a fighter rather than a dedicated priest.

Where had the Blight Sovereign found such an anomaly? While unusual advancement paths existed... transitioning from fighter to Blight Envoy would severely limit Divine Spell usage compared to a true Envoy!

No wonder Xander had sensed the man was overly cautious with his spells.

So the bastard is a fighter!

Xander hadn’t used [Inspect] earlier, fearing detection during the planned ambush.

Now, after dodging the two-handed sword, he quickly cast it.

Xander didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at the results. The opponent’s classes were:

[Fighter Lv5 – Blight Envoy Lv2]

Please! If he was a fighter, wouldn’t the advanced class [Plague Knight] have been far superior?

Xander sneered. After the initial surprise, he relaxed considerably.

Because this Blight Envoy had just become much easier to handle.

What Xander feared most was the opponent continuously casting curses. Being hit by one would leave him in trouble even after killing the Envoy.

But since the opponent was primarily a fighter, it meant his Divine Spells were already exhausted!

He swung the two-handed sword skillfully, but...

Xander had reached the 20 Dexterity threshold, and Rangers naturally countered Fighters!

His footwork became ghostly. Taking advantage of the Envoy’s wide swing, a small figure slipped under his arm!

[Shadow Steps]!

He moved like lightning! The Blight Envoy couldn’t react in time!

Xander’s curved blades rose horizontally, seamlessly linking into [Cutthroat]!

[You used Cutthroat (46) on your target...]

[Skill failed...]

---

Crack!

A strange sound echoed as Cutthroat failed!

The Blight Envoy had activated his final life-saving Divine Spell at the critical moment—[Locust Division]!

The Blight Sovereign’s favored creatures were locusts.

The instant the Divine Spell took effect, the Envoy’s body dissolved into a buzzing swarm of locusts.

Xander’s Cutthroat only struck one or two.

The rest scattered in panic.

"Locust Division? You want to flee?"

Gordian, still suppressing the Shadow Spider Assassin, shouted loudly. He immediately pulled out a large pouch!

The pouch appeared made of simple linen, yet it was clearly a genuine magic item!

Worthy of a Silver Order knight. Quite well-equipped for a 2nd Rank knight with two magic items!

Xander watched with a trace of envy!

As a transmigrator, how many uncommon items had he acquired? Even his twin blades were common weapons. How unfair!

Xander recognized the pouch. It was an [Exorcism Pouch] crafted by a high-ranking Silver Order priest.

Like the Wishful Rope, it had multiple practical uses.

He watched as Gordian opened the pouch. A gust of wind burst forth, causing most of the locusts to fall to the ground!

The Blight Envoy tried to escape, but Gordian had prepared for exactly this!

The wind from the pouch carried the special effect of scattering divine power. Though mild, it was devastating against Locust Division.

The locusts fell one after another!

Once grounded, they could only crawl helplessly.

The plan had succeeded. The Blight Envoy could not escape!

Gordian displayed a proud smile.

But at that moment, the Shadow Spider Assassin suddenly launched a reverse slash—not to escape, but to counterattack!

[Blade Skill – Abyss Phantom]!

His body twisted into black mist, hurling itself toward Gordian!

Gordian’s expression changed!

This was a high-level blade technique, far superior to common skills like Rushing Thunder Slash. Where did this guy learn it?

If he continued using the Exorcism Pouch, he would be torn apart by Abyss Phantom!

Yet several locusts were still trying to fly away!

"Damn it!"

The Silver Light Knight angrily stomped his foot, stored the pouch, and raised his sword to meet the assassin’s trump card!

---

The wind scattered through the dark basement.

Three locusts were still desperately flying upward. There was an air vent above; they apparently intended to escape through it.

They were already quite high. Xander couldn’t reach them with a simple jump!

But he had a solution.

It’s all up to luck now!

Xander sheathed his curved blades and grabbed several darts from the pouch at his belt.

[Hidden Weapon – Dart (24) activated!]

Whoosh! Whoosh!

Darts flew one after another.

The sixth dart struck the first locust, nailing it to the ceiling!

The thirteenth hit the second.

But the third locust was approaching the small air vent.

If even one locust escaped, the Blight Envoy would survive.

All of Xander and Gordian’s efforts would be wasted!

Xander had time for two more throws before the last locust escaped.

But his accuracy was quite low.

It’s a gamble!

In an instant, Xander made his decision.

He grabbed five darts in each hand. Since accuracy was poor, he would rely on coverage!

The air vent was small anyway!

Xander put power into the throw. Ten darts flew in a messy formation toward the tiny vent!

The locust’s body was small, but as the swarm of darts flew toward it, it flapped its wings faster. Avoiding the barrage was difficult.

Thud!

A clear sound rang out. One dart pierced the locust’s body.

In that instant, the small form expanded, transforming back into the Blight Envoy as he fell to the ground.

Already dead.

---

Xander let out a long breath. He had been quite lucky with that blind throw.

It was also thanks to Gordian’s wind from the Exorcism Pouch weakening the locusts.

Otherwise, with their nimbleness, Xander wouldn’t have hit!

After killing the Blight Envoy, his quest was completed.

[Blight Purge] (Completed).

Quest Rewards Received: 3000 General Experience.

The Regional Prestige had yet to appear. Xander guessed it would update once news of the event spread.

The Envoy’s kill also granted 560 Battle Experience.

Xander was quite satisfied.

On the other side, Gordian saw Xander successfully kill the Blight Envoy and immediately looked overjoyed.

Once freed to face the Shadow Spider Assassin, the latter offered far less resistance!

The two assassins who had failed their Desperate Strikes had cleverly slipped away at some point.

Xander felt some regret at losing those experience packs, but he had needed to prioritize the Envoy.

"Since my employer is dead, I have no reason to continue fighting!"

The Dark Murderer suddenly retreated, glaring gloomily at Gordian. "Silver Light, I’ll remember you."

"But do you know who that masked man beside you is? I can tell you—he’s the one causing chaos across Tanchapel lately, the Masked Twin Blades!"

"Maybe you should apprehend him now!"

His voice faded as he suddenly vanished!

[Secret Skill – Vanish]!

Xander’s heart sank. The man’s strength was impressive, yet he still resorted to such methods. No wonder he always felt perfectly safe.

But now it was bad. Only Xander and Gordian remained in the basement.

The Silver Light Knight slowly turned, looking at Xander solemnly:

"You are the Masked Twin Blades?"

[System Notification: Regional Prestige +1]

News of the Blight Envoy’s elimination is spreading.

The situation had become complicated once more. Xander remained cautious, twin blades ready.

The night was far from over.
