I was Chosen By A Perverted Goddess To Help Save Her World
Chapter 134: Lustful ThoughtsFaerwyn promised Solara that she would be sending Hardwood over to her as quickly as she could; after all, he would be attending to the noble ladies according to importance, and none was more so than Solara—
For this, Faerwyn felt she had better prepare Hardwood very well, so he would understand which boundaries not to cross with these ladies, as well as properly tighten her hold on him at this time, so he’s not swayed by offers from others who would certainly try to steal a capable person to their side.
She could read the reactions of a few merchants present who also deal in procuring luxury items, and could tell a lot of them who had overheard the ladies talking were curious about who this new person was. Even if none of the few present could see what the ladies had observed in the powder room, she knew they would be making their individual moves, especially the representatives of the two major luxury merchant groups in the kingdom.
The Dawn Luxury merchants aren’t really of much concern since they are known for being trustworthy and playing by the rules, even if they would try to compete in the same market soon enough, as all wise merchants do. Moreover, they deal in other enterprises that make them one of the richest families in the kingdom. For example, their auction houses, which they had a monopoly over, not because others hadn’t tried to compete; it’s just that no one else has the type of connections they do.
But the Kanes relied solely on their business of supplying nobles with their every need, mostly luxury items in fashion, beauty, or everyday-use goods that are exclusive, unique, and the material in terms of materials and every other aspect. They had become so wealthy solely by focusing on this, and when it came to luxury catered to nobles, they were even starting to compare with the Dawns in this area—but only in this area.
They are also rumored to be more aggressive in their approach to driving out competitors, and if they could, they wished they could even do the same to the Dawns, but that would probably bring about their own ruin. Faerwyn imagines they would try something underhanded from the back, since they wouldn’t dare try to go against a duchy, not to talk of her backing. This might cause them to be kicked out of the entire Wolfe duchy, and every other region where Faerwyn still had influence.
They might instead try to poach Hardwood, seeing his potential, and try to bring him under their banner just like all the others. Faerwyn needed to prevent this. The Kanes, just as well as the Dawn’s has been doing business in her territory for all this time, but she barely sees the benefits from it, so the conclusion Faerwyn has drawn was that both the Kanes and the Dawns were in a cooperative relationship with her chancellor.
So she intends to hold a complete monopoly on her only treasure, which is the young man, Hardwood. And if these Vultures try to venture, she wouldn’t mind showing her claws. Though it was a little surprising that even the Dawns would be in bed with Dongwhisper, it made sense, just like the Silverwinters share claims to land with the Wolfes; so too do the Dawns.
Faewyn maintained a dignified, cheerful appearance as she received greetings of goodbye from these people. As she entered her carriage, which drove off in the direction of the Zarion noble district, from its central region, the salon was.
The carriage drove through the region, while Nymira sat in quiet, taking in what she had just been told by Faerwyn. Turns out her previous guess she’d dismissed was in fact true, and Hardwood was the mysterious procurer of said item.
Faerwyn also implored her not to push the young man too much for details about his sources for fear of pushing him away, since they needed him so much. Yet, Nymira was feeling even more wrong now, not for the fact that her mother had kept this a secret from her all this time, but because her mother had informed her that Hardwood had gifted her a pair—
While she wasn’t gifted any.
The ride to their mansion in the noble district was a little awkward, with Nymira wanting to ask some more, but restraining herself, and Faerwyn noticing her strange changes in mood as an expert in judging emotional cues, thinking something was certainly off with her daughter. And Faerwyn was trying her hardest to hide those emotions, knowing her mother.
When their carriage arrived at the Wolfe mansion in the noble district, they were greeted by a row of servants and guards and led in to freshen up for a night’s rest before journeying back to the Wolfe duchy and city of Tellon in the morning for a new Chapter in their lives and the eventual inevitable confrontation with Dongwhisper.
As Faerwyn lay on her mattress wearing her panties and a simple night garment, she thought about possibly involving Solara in this matter, but Solara had already done more than enough for her, and their relationship also wasn’t built on this. Besides, involving such a powerhouse outside force in something that should have remained within the estate walls of the Wolfes might just lead to unexpected variables. What if the reason Dongwhisper was going so far was not just confidence in his own strength but in the strength of some monstrous backer who had set their sights on her duchy? The Wolfe duchy wasn’t short on enemies, as the runaway Duke Wolfe had ruffled quite a few feathers in the past.
As Faerwyn relaxed into her mattress, memories of Hardwood began to flood her mind. It was strange, for she’s always been the one who left an unforgettable impression on others, yet here she was, picturing the young man and his unholy tongue on her petal, her right hand slowly gliding lower as she began to rub on her flower, over her sexy lace panties, lusting at the thought of him in soft moans.
Unknown to Faerwyn, in another room, her dear stoic daughter was also exploring the edges of her lust. Both of them having the same person in mind—
Hardwood.
