I'm Already the Richest Man, Why Did My System Just Arrive?
Chapter 344 - 196: Sun TribeChapter 344: Chapter 196: Sun Tribe
Only by killing them "clean" could it be called "cleaning up."
Zheng Xiu’s subsequent silence made Xie Luohe realize he didn’t like hearing about such things. Xie Luohe’s brows furrowed slightly, and with an inward sigh, he said no more on the matter.
After entering the Valley, the walls on either side gradually opened up, revealing a spacious area. It was another world inside.
The inhabitants of Richan Valley, a people of the Great Desert, called themselves the Sun Tribe.
When hundreds of Tribe members—men and women, young and old—emerged cheerfully from one simple mud hut after another to welcome Xie Luohe, Zheng Xiu felt dazed, as if he had been transported to some primitive society.
Most of the Tribe’s men were bare from the waist up, wearing pants made of animal hide. Their bodies were adorned with colorful patterns, painted on with a mixture of animal blood. The women, in contrast, covered only their chests and lower bodies, leaving them lightly clad.
The children were completely uninhibited, running around naked in the sand.
Perhaps it was his Painter’s soul at work, but Zheng Xiu quickly noticed a pattern to the tribespeople’s body paint. It seemed the older or stronger a man appeared, the more sun patterns he had painted on him. The women and children had no sun patterns at all.
Zheng Xiu also noticed the women wore many intricate ornaments on their hands, feet, necks, and waists. In the sunlight, the jewelry glinted with a dazzling brightness.
’It’s gold!’
Zheng Xiu examined it closely. Their jewelry was forged from gold. The color was impure, but it was clearly some kind of simply refined gold. Mixed in with the gold ornaments were the skeletons of "birds."
An elderly man, his skin a mass of wrinkles and his body covered in "Scorching Sun" paintings, walked unsteadily toward Xie Luohe, supported by two old women.
"Lord Xie... you’ve... come... after so long!"
Zheng Xiu did a quick count. The old man had a full forty-nine "Scorching Sun" paintings on his body. ’He must be the top man in the Tribe.’
Xie Luohe smiled and clasped his hands in salute to the old man. "Grand Elder, I trust you’ve been well."
"Come, come, this way."
A few young, blushing tribeswomen led their camels away. Then, several other young women with green eyes came forward, surrounding Zheng Xiu and ushering him deeper into the valley. As they walked, Zheng Xiu realized someone was running their hands over him.
Xie Luohe shouted a sharp rebuke in a language Zheng Xiu didn’t understand.
The women who had been running their hands over Zheng Xiu walked away, their faces filled with disappointment.
Zheng Xiu was completely baffled. "The customs here are really strange. Did they mistake me for... something else?" Zheng Xiu wasn’t stupid. He was just too embarrassed to say that the tribeswomen who had just been secretly touching him had seemed quite... amorous.
Xie Luohe didn’t explain, the tips of his ears turning slightly red. He chuckled and said, "Pay them no mind. When I left years ago, I casually promised the elder I’d help bring some men here for them. They must have misunderstood."
Zheng Xiu asked curiously, "So what did you tell them?"
The corners of Xie Luohe’s mouth turned up slightly as he suppressed a laugh. "I told them you were a captive I’d brought back. I said I was going to wash you up before killing you, which is why they left disappointed."
"Really?" Zheng Xiu asked skeptically.
"Really," Xie Luohe said firmly.
The crowd of over a hundred people moved forward in a great procession, joyfully leading the way.
After those few amorous tribeswomen left, the space around Zheng Xiu cleared.
After they had walked a hundred paces, a cool breeze wafted by. It was crisp and refreshing, instantly dispelling the heat and fatigue from Zheng Xiu’s long journey.
Beyond that part of the Valley, the view suddenly opened up to reveal a vast oasis.
The oasis was dotted with tidy houses, soaring pavilions, and arched terraces. Water murmured in gentle streams, and in the distance, green mountains were wreathed in light mist as birds flew by in flocks. Once again, Zheng Xiu felt as if he had been transported to another world.
Beyond the Great Desert lay a hidden world, a true paradise on Earth.
