I'm Already the Richest Man, Why Did My System Just Arrive?
Chapter 365 - 203: Ghost PainterChapter 365: Chapter 203: Ghost Painter
"Dilu! Agwa ba ulado!"
The tall man took off his war helm and shouted toward the center of the town.
His voice was like a great bell, reverberating far and wide until it filled Richan Town. The town’s pigs and sheep crashed against their pens in a panic. The two camels owned by Zheng Xiu and his wife collapsed to the ground, foaming at the mouth and trembling uncontrollably.
"Hah!"
"Hah!"
"Hah!"
Behind the man, over a hundred soldiers in strange Armor drew peculiar weapons from their waists—each about four feet long and shaped like an Iron Fan. In unison, they struck the round plates on their chests, letting out a sky-shaking roar.
"Husband..."
Xie Luohe came out from the back kitchen, where she had been washing dishes. Her sleeves were rolled up, her hands still dripping, as she patted her husband awake where he was dozing on the counter.
"I heard them."
Zheng Xiu rubbed his eyes, still drowsy, and stretched.
"So, we..."
Xie Luohe dried her hands on a towel, her eyes questioning.
"Wait."
Zheng Xiu got up. With a few kind words, he persuaded the unsuspecting patrons in Mohe Pavilion to leave, sending them all on their way.
Afterward, he threw the doors wide open.
He placed a few small dishes on a table, set out two small wine cups, and filled each to the brim.
「Outside the town.」
The army from a foreign land was negotiating with Ri Di in their own dialect.
Although the Sun Tribe were not soldiers guarding the borders of Daqian, this place was their home. As the new Clan Leader, Ri Di would never allow anyone to encroach upon it.
Since ancient times, the Great Desert has been a natural barrier between the Central Plains and the Western Regions. No army had ever been able to cross the Great Desert without a map.
The Green River Trade Route had last been open during the previous dynasty.
Today, the details of the Green River Trade Route were known only to the people of the Sun Tribe and a handful of others.
Zheng Xiu had been on alert ever since soldiers from the Western Regions, disguised as Merchants, had entered the town a few days prior to ask about the Green River Trade Route.
The expert the Clan Leader had sent to the Central Plains to gather information had not yet returned, and Zheng Xiu didn’t know what to make of it.
The negotiation took a full hour.
After the negotiations, the tall General at the lead laughed loudly three times, then began removing his Armor, tossing it aside.
Each piece of Armor he removed crashed heavily to the ground with a dull THUD.
Clearly, the Armor he wore was extremely heavy.
The other soldiers dismounted their War Camels in perfect unison and began to make camp on the spot.
The Warriors of the Sun Tribe, holding their Longbows, watched the foreign soldiers setting up camp from a distance, their expressions wary. After taking off all his Armor, the tall man plunged that peculiar, fan-shaped weapon into the sand and nonchalantly entered the town.
Over the past ten years, the peace and growing prosperity of the Great Desert had allowed Richan Town, here in the West of the Great Desert, to grow from a Tribe of just over a hundred people into a city of nearly a thousand.
There were no laws, no Government Office. Perhaps even Daqian, plagued by internal strife, was unaware of this prosperous town bordering the Western Regions, which flourished daily under the Sun Tribe’s governance.
This place was like a paradise hidden from the world.
THUD! THUD! THUD!
The tall man’s every step was steady and powerful.
Having removed his Armor, his upper body was clad only in a vest-like undergarment, revealing strong shoulders and arms.
They were covered in scars, deep and shallow, long since healed—a testament to the countless battles he had fought.
The man finally stopped in front of Mohe Pavilion.
His sharp gaze swept inside, and for a moment, the man was stunned.
Inside, a table and chairs were already set. A handsome man sat calmly to one side, wine and food laid out before him.
"Hahaha!" The man broke his stunned silence with a sudden, booming laugh. "Arturo of the Shache Kingdom! Let’s drink!"
