I'm Already the Richest Man, Why Did My System Just Arrive?
Chapter 402 - 216: Prisoner? PrisonerChapter 402: Chapter 216: Prisoner? Prisoner
Next, the Monk and Feng Bei witnessed a comical scene.
First, two Large Curved Sabers appeared in Zheng Xiu’s hands. With a dissatisfied look on his face, he charged up the mountain peak.
BOOM!
Celestial Yin Mountain trembled and shook, triggering an avalanche on its other side.
Zheng Xiu ran back, disheveled and covered in snow, and sat down for a while.
The second time, a Flying Saber appeared in Zheng Xiu’s hand. With a constipated expression, he threw it.
A small chunk of Celestial Yin Mountain’s summit was shaved off.
Two hours later, the other side of Celestial Yin Mountain was a mess of craters. The gray cliff face, exposed by the avalanches, was now riddled with cracks and holes. The Big White Snake’s gaze toward the Mighty Man grew increasingly fearful and wary.
It wasn’t until the seventh try that a sweat-soaked Zheng Xiu rubbed his hands together.
A long saber glowing with green light appeared in his hand.
"Got it!"
Zheng Xiu had finally managed to conjure a Broken Moon with [Medical Principles].
"Don’t dodge this attack. If you do, I might never be able to conjure it again."
Zheng Xiu warned the Big White Snake.
"HISS..."
The Big White Snake looked at the verdant green light of the saber before it. Tears streamed from the corners of its eyes as it shut them.
Zheng Xiu leaped high into the air. With a swing of his long saber, a rain of green light scattered across the sky, dyeing the pure white snow into a verdant ocean.
"Sad Celestial Rain!"
The stitched wound on the Big White Snake’s abdomen healed at a visible rate, its flesh and skin regenerating.
It was healed.
The Big White Snake had been snatched from the jaws of death. Overcome with a mix of sorrow and joy, it coiled its body happily in the snow before lying down in front of Zheng Xiu, extending its scarlet tongue to lick his face.
The Monk exclaimed in awe, "Such godly skill!"
Feng Bei pouted. ’He certainly knows a lot.’
For some reason, she thought of those ten years, and a blush crept onto her face.
After healing the Big White Snake, Zheng Xiu put away the Broken Moon. The Big White Snake and its kin tearfully bid farewell to their great benefactor, reluctant to see him go.
「Before heading down the mountain.」
"Wait a moment. I’m going to switch back and take a quick look."
The Monk listened, completely bewildered.
But Feng Bei understood. She stood behind Zheng Xiu, vigilantly scanning their surroundings.
Zheng Xiu sat down cross-legged and shifted his consciousness back to the Heart Prison.
It had been a while since he had returned to the Heart Prison. The scenery within was the same as always.
A gray mist hung in the air like a thick, deep sea, and mottled rust stains covered the Heart Prison.
On the Game Table, several small figures flickered in and out of view.
The only change was a withered, severed arm, bound by several gray chains in a corner, completely still.
That was the Deceitful Object of the Painter’s Path.
It was the greatest gain from Zheng Xiu’s journey so far.
However, this Deceitful Object didn’t seem to have merged with him. Instead, it was merely restrained within the Heart Prison.
’Prisoner... Prisoner... Prisoner?’
He recalled the final moments in the World in the Painting, when the world was collapsing. His Deceitful Object, [Prisoner], had burst forth and transformed into chains to trap the [Painter] Deceitful Object. He was almost certain that the "prison" in Prisoner wasn’t just a noun—it was very likely a verb as well.
One who imprisons Deceitful Objects.
A Prisoner.
「In the dungeon of the Zheng Residence.」
Zheng Xiu’s Main Body was withered and lifeless.
Zizi was fast asleep beside him. She rubbed her eyes and woke up in a daze. Slapping her head, she silently berated herself. When she looked up, she met a pair of bright, deep eyes.
Zizi stared blankly for a moment, then covered her mouth and screamed, "A ghost! A ghost! Ah, no! Master! Master is alive! Master is alive!"
Zheng Xiu: "?"
"CRACK!"
Zheng Xiu barely managed to move his body, which produced a crisp cracking sound. The intense pain and weakness from his limbs made him frown. Only now, having returned to his Main Body, did he truly understand the perilous situation he was in.
Yet, he unhurriedly opened his mouth, trying to say something. His dry, hoarse throat only produced a few strange sounds. Seeing that her master seemed to want to speak, Zizi quickly got up to pat his back. For a moment, she thought it was a final burst of energy before death and cried out in a high-pitched wail, "Master, woooo... please don’t die! If you die, what will become of the Zheng Family!"
’Damn it, is this your idea of some grand, filial performance?’ Zheng Xiu gritted his teeth and forcefully gestured the word "Thirteen" in the air before him.
Seeing her master’s strained gestures, Zizi finally understood. She scrambled to her feet and ran out to find Brother Shisan.
"Whew..."
After Zizi left, only the sound of Zheng Xiu’s long breaths remained in the Zheng Residence’s dungeon. While waiting for Qing Shisan, Zheng Xiu planned to switch back outside. He couldn’t let his Incarnation return to his Main Body just yet. Memories from a hundred years ago, long since faded and blurry, gradually surfaced in his mind as he sorted through them to plan his next move.
Just before he left, Zheng Xiu felt something. He looked in a certain direction, his brow furrowing slightly before smoothing out.
’There’s something over there, at the Imperial Palace.’
...
When he opened his eyes again, Feng Bei was squatting in front of him, hugging her knees and carefully studying his face.
The moment he opened his eyes, a flicker of panic crossed Feng Bei’s. She was about to pull away, but Zheng Xiu reached out and tapped her on the nose.
Feng Bei coughed lightly. "How was it?"
Having been husband and wife in the painting for ten years, Feng Bei and Zheng Xiu had been completely open with each other. They knew each other inside and out; there were no secrets between them.
"Don’t worry. I’m hard to kill. I have an idea—let’s talk as we walk."
Zheng Xiu had wanted to draw a large bird to fly down, but Feng Bei, pained at the thought of him having to bleed, gritted her teeth and refused to let him. Zheng Xiu couldn’t argue with her, so the three of them could only walk down the mountain.
On their way down the mountain, they sorted through their experiences from before entering the painting.
Feng Bei had it better. After being brought into the Darkness at Richan Valley, she hadn’t actually entered the real Darkness. In reality, Gongsun Mo was completely incapable of painting a scene of the Darkness, so Feng Bei had essentially just been through a very long sleep. Zheng Xiu and the Monk, however, had truly been worn down for a hundred years. To them, the memories from a century ago now felt distant and hazy.
