I'm Not Your Husband, You Evil Dragon!
Chapter 237: The War Begins (special)It was the scream of a soul trapped inside an endless nightmare.
Tears continued flowing from Yuuta’s tightly closed eyes while every muscle in his body trembled violently beneath Elena.
His face twisted in unbearable agony as another scream escaped his throat, so painful and desperate that it no longer sounded human.
It echoed throughout the quiet garden, shattering the peaceful evening and sending countless birds flying from the nearby trees.
The violent scream frightened Elena so badly that her tiny body reacted before her mind could.
She let out a frightened cry, jumped down from Yuuta’s chest, and stumbled backward several steps until she was standing several feet away from him. Her little legs trembled uncontrollably while tears streamed down her cheeks. She wanted to run even farther, yet she couldn’t take another step because the person screaming wasn’t a stranger.
It was her Papa.
"Papa..."
Her tiny voice trembled so badly that the word almost disappeared between her sobs.
She stood there completely helpless, hugging herself as though trying to stop her own body from shaking. Her little heart pounded violently inside her chest while she stared at Yuuta, unable to understand what was happening. She wanted to help him. She wanted to run to him. Yet she was so frightened by the horrifying screams that her feet refused to move.
Then, just as suddenly as it had begun...
The screaming stopped.
Yuuta’s body gradually became still as the painful cries faded into complete silence. His trembling slowly disappeared, and within a few moments the garden returned to its peaceful state, as though those horrifying screams had never echoed through it at all. Only the cold sweat covering his body and the tears still resting upon his face remained as silent evidence that something terrible had happened.
Elena continued staring at him with wide, tear-filled eyes.
"...Pa..."
A hiccup interrupted her trembling voice.
"P-Papa...?"
There was no response.
She slowly took one small step forward.
"P-Papa..."
Her little hands trembled at her sides while fresh tears continued falling from her eyes.
Still...
Yuuta didn’t answer.
The silence frightened her even more than the screams had.
Her tiny lips quivered uncontrollably before she suddenly ran back toward him as fast as her little legs could carry her. Without hesitation, she threw herself onto Yuuta’s chest and wrapped both little arms tightly around him, burying her tear-stained face against his body.
"Papa..."
She broke down into uncontrollable sobs.
"Papa... what happened...?"
Her little shoulders shook with every cry.
"Papa... Elena is scared..."
She held him even tighter, as though letting go would somehow make him disappear.
"I’m so scared..."
Her voice became barely understandable beneath her sobbing.
"Elena... doesn’t like this..."
More tears soaked Yuuta’s clothes.
"Please wake up..."
She cried into his chest, desperately waiting for his arms to wrap around her the way they always did.
But no matter how tightly Elena hugged him...
Yuuta never answered.
As Elena continued clinging to Yuuta’s chest, sobbing uncontrollably, another change slowly began taking place.
Thin strands of black aura quietly seeped through his body like wisps of dark mist, slowly wrapping around his arms, shoulders, and chest before spreading across the grass beneath him.
It wasn’t the overwhelming torrent that had once shaken the entire surroundings, but a faint leak, as though something buried deep inside Yuuta was desperately trying to force its way into the outside world. His body trembled more violently with every passing second, and the painful expression on his sleeping face became even more obvious, making it look as though he was fighting an invisible enemy no one else could see.
Elena paid no attention to the black aura at first. She was too busy crying while desperately trying to wake her father, her tiny hands refusing to let go of him even for a moment.
Tears continued soaking Yuuta’s clothes as she buried her face against his chest, repeatedly calling his name between sobs, praying that he would suddenly smile and open his eyes.
"Papa..."
She sniffled.
"Wake up..."
"Elena misses you..."
Another sob escaped her lips.
"Please wake up..."
However, the longer she remained beside him, the more a strange feeling slowly spread through her heart. It wasn’t something she could explain with words. The terrifying presence surrounding Yuuta felt... familiar. Her dragon instincts reacted before her mind could understand why, causing her tiny body to stiffen as she slowly lifted her tear-filled eyes toward the black aura swirling around him. Although she was only four years old, her dragon blood remembered what her human memories had forgotten.
She had seen this before.
The little dragon girl’s breathing became uneven.
"Papa...?"
Fragments of memories suddenly surfaced one after another inside her mind. She remembered standing beside Mama while watching Papa sleep exactly like this. She remembered the Human Aunty standing nearby with a worried expression. She remembered this same black aura covering Yuuta’s body before both of them desperately tried to remove it. The more those memories returned, the wider Elena’s crimson eyes became until she finally understood that Papa wasn’t simply sleeping.
He was trapped.
"Mama..."
She looked around the empty garden through blurry tears.
"Mama..."
Her trembling voice echoed through the quiet garden as she hurriedly looked around, desperately hoping to see Erza standing somewhere nearby.
"Mama... where are you...?"
Fresh tears rolled down her cheeks before another name escaped her lips.
"Human Aunty..."
Her voice broke.
"Papa needs your help..."
She waited.
She listened.
She searched every direction.
Nobody came.
The only thing answering her cries was the gentle evening wind brushing through the leaves above her. The empty garden remained painfully silent, and that silence slowly crushed the tiny hope still remaining inside her heart. Elena lowered her head before wrapping both arms tightly around Yuuta once more, crying harder than before as she buried her face against his chest.
"Papa..."
"Wake up..."
"Please..."
"I don’t want Papa to cry..."
As though responding to his daughter’s desperate voice, Yuuta’s lips suddenly trembled. The movement was almost impossible to notice, so weak that even an adult standing nearby might have mistaken it for nothing more than a muscle twitch. His tightly closed eyes never opened, and his body continued trembling beneath the black aura, yet after several painful attempts, a broken whisper barely escaped from his lips. Every word sounded as though it had been dragged from the depths of endless despair.
"Sa..."
"...Save..."
"...Save me..."
The whisper was so quiet that it almost disappeared into the evening breeze.
Elena immediately lifted her head.
Her tear-filled eyes stared at Yuuta’s face in complete disbelief before hope suddenly bloomed inside them for the first time since everything had begun.
Elena froze.
Her head instantly lifted.
"Papa...?"
Fresh tears filled her eyes.
"Papa!"
For the first time since everything had begun, hope appeared inside the little dragon girl’s heart.
She waited.
No more words came.
Only the painful trembling of his body remained.
Even so, those three broken words were enough.
They told Elena something she hadn’t understood until now.
Papa was asking for help.
The little dragon girl quickly wiped away the tears covering her face with both tiny hands before tightly clenching her fists. Although her body was still trembling from fear, a small look of determination slowly replaced the helplessness within her crimson eyes.
"Papa..."
Her trembling voice gradually became firm.
"Elena will save you."
Another tear rolled down her cheek.
She looked around the empty garden one last time, silently hoping Mama or the Human Aunty would suddenly appear.
Nobody came.
No one was coming.
The realization made her tiny heart ache, but instead of crying again, Elena bit her lower lip and forced herself to stay strong. If nobody was coming to save Papa, then she would have to do it herself.
Just as she was wondering what she could possibly do, another forgotten memory suddenly resurfaced inside her dragon blood. She remembered a glowing crystal absorbing the same black aura surrounding Yuuta. She remembered Mama holding it while the Human Aunty helped remove the darkness from Papa’s body. The image became clearer and clearer until Elena suddenly remembered its name.
"The stone..."
She sniffled loudly.
"The stone is at home..."
Hope instantly returned to her eyes.
She gently cupped Yuuta’s face with both tiny hands before leaning forward and pressing her forehead against his.
"Papa..."
Her voice still trembled from crying.
"Wait for Elena."
Another tear slid down her cheek, but this time it wasn’t born from despair.
It was hope.
"Elena will save you."
With those trembling words, the little dragon girl turned around and ran toward the house with all the strength her tiny legs could muster, refusing to let her father face the darkness alone.
_______________
Location: Pacific Ocean
Place: Demon Kingdom
Far beneath the endless waters of the Pacific Ocean stood the Demon Kingdom, a kingdom feared by every race that knew of its existence. Millions of demons filled its cities while countless soldiers patrolled every fortress surrounding the royal castle.
Powerful barriers covered the entire kingdom, and monstrous guardians watched every possible entrance day and night.
For thousands of years, not a single enemy had ever dared invade this place. It was considered one of the safest kingdoms in existence, a land where demons slept peacefully without ever knowing fear.
Yet tonight...
Fear existed within the royal castle itself.
Allen sat silently upon the obsidian throne while the blood-stained sheet connected through the Gospel Call floated before him. The dragon-shaped formation carved across the paper trembled violently as Erza’s final declaration continued echoing inside his mind like an endless curse.
"Behold..."
"The Queen of Atlantis..."
"...has drawn her blade."
The corrupted formation suddenly cracked before black flames erupted from every corner of the paper. Within seconds, the sheet completely burned away, leaving nothing behind except drifting ashes that slowly scattered across the throne room.
A suffocating silence filled the royal chamber.
High Blood Demons, royal generals, and elite demons all stood frozen as their eyes instinctively shifted toward the throne. None of them understood what had happened through the Gospel Call, but they all saw something far more shocking.
Their king...
...was trembling.
Allen’s hands were tightly clasped together in front of him, almost resembling someone praying for salvation. His fingers shook uncontrollably while cold sweat slowly rolled down the side of his face. His crimson eyes remained fixed on the ashes lying upon the floor, but they no longer held the confidence of a ruler.
They held fear.
"It... can’t be..."
His voice barely escaped his lips.
"It can’t be..."
The words sounded less like denial and more like a desperate plea.
General Malakar slowly stepped forward, his expression growing increasingly uneasy. He had served Allen for centuries and had witnessed countless wars against heroes, saints, dragons, and even divine beings, yet never—not even once—had he seen the Demon King reduced to such a miserable state.
"My King..."
Malakar spoke carefully, choosing every word with caution.
"Why are you in such distress? I have never seen you like this before."
Allen didn’t answer immediately.
Instead, he slowly raised one trembling hand toward his mouth before unconsciously biting down on his own fingernail. His breathing became uneven while countless thoughts raced through his mind. Only now did he finally understand the horrifying mistake he had made.
He had underestimated her.
From the very beginning, he had believed she was merely another powerful dragon who happened to possess an unusual amount of strength. Even after hearing stories about the Dragon Queen, he secretly believed that if they ever met on the battlefield, he could somehow deal with her.
What foolish arrogance.
What unbelievable stupidity.
Only now did he finally understand whose attention he had attracted.
Erza Vely Dragomir.
The Queen of Atlantis.
The most ruthless Dragon Queen in recorded history.
An existence so cold and merciless that even ancient dragons whispered her name with caution. Legends claimed she desired to become the next Zareth herself, not through inheritance or prophecy, but by carving her own path through absolute strength. Wherever she walked, kingdoms collapsed, armies surrendered, and those who stood against her vanished from history without leaving behind even a grave.
Allen slowly closed his eyes.
His heart sank even further.
There was something even more terrifying than her reputation.
She possessed Zani.
The forbidden power feared by gods, dragons, and demons alike.
Allen had heard enough ancient records to know exactly what that meant.
A dragon capable of wielding Zani wasn’t merely powerful.
She was walking death itself.
The realization sent another chill crawling down his spine, and for the first time since becoming Demon King, Allen genuinely questioned whether tomorrow’s sunrise was something he would ever live to see.
Allen suddenly rose from his throne so violently that the sound echoed throughout the entire royal chamber. His breathing had become completely unstable as he paced back and forth like a cornered beast, repeatedly running both hands through his hair while every thought inside his mind spiraled into chaos.
"Shit..."
He kicked the steps leading to the throne.
"Shit!"
Another curse escaped his lips.
"Fucking shit!"
The curses echoed throughout the royal chamber, leaving every demon frozen in disbelief. None of them had ever seen their king lose his composure to such an extent. General Malakar remained silent, wisely choosing not to interrupt, while the other generals exchanged uneasy glances, unable to understand what had reduced the Demon King to this state.
Among them stood Zeri, a newly promoted High Blood Demon who had never experienced the ancient era when dragons still ruled the world. Unlike the older demons, he knew Erza only as a powerful dragon from stories, nothing more. Watching Allen panic over a few sentences made him frown in confusion before he casually stepped forward.
"My King..."
Zeri spoke casually.
"Why are you so afraid?"
He shrugged his shoulders before letting out a small laugh.
"It was only a few words. What was it again? Behold... the Queen... drew her blade or something? I honestly don’t understand why everyone is acting as if....."
His voice suddenly disappeared.
A crimson flash crossed the throne room so quickly that nobody saw Allen move.
Nobody saw Allen move.
Nobody even sensed him drawing a weapon.
One moment Zeri was speaking...
...the next, his head separated cleanly from his body.
The severed head rolled across the polished floor before stopping at General Malakar’s feet, leaving a trail of black blood behind it. His headless corpse remained standing for a brief moment before collapsing with a deafening thud that echoed throughout the silent chamber.
Every demon instinctively stepped back.
Several elite demons visibly swallowed in fear.
Only then did they finally understand that this situation was far more serious than they had imagined.
Zeri’s severed neck slowly began regenerating, black flesh and bone weaving together as demonic regeneration attempted to restore his body. Before he could even open his mouth again, Allen’s furious roar exploded throughout the throne room.
"DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT THOSE WORDS MEAN?!"
Allen’s entire body trembled with a mixture of rage and fear as he pointed directly toward the regenerating demon.
His voice echoed through the chamber.
"No..."
He laughed bitterly, though there wasn’t a trace of amusement in it.
"Do any of you know what she just declared?"
Nobody answered.
Not because they were afraid to speak.
Because they genuinely didn’t know.
Allen clenched both fists until black blood slowly dripped between his fingers before letting out a long, exhausted sigh. He rubbed both hands across his face before gripping his own hair once more, frustration written across every inch of his expression.
"Oh, God of Shadows..."
"How am I supposed to explain this to a room full of fools?"
His crimson eyes slowly swept across every general and elite demon.
"None of you have ever encountered dragons."
"That’s why none of you understand."
"You’ve lived your entire lives fighting humans, saints, hunters, and monsters."
"You’ve never witnessed what a true dragon is."
Allen let out a bitter laugh before pointing at himself.
"Fine."
"I’ll make it simple enough for even idiots to understand."
Allen pointed toward himself.
"Imagine..."
"...that someone exactly like me decided to hunt every single one of you."
The chamber instantly became quiet.
Before anyone could answer, Allen slowly shook his head.
"No."
His expression darkened.
"Forget that."
His voice became even heavier.
"Imagine someone many times stronger than me."
Someone every demon in the room instinctively knew they could never defeat.
Allen slowly closed his eyes before whispering the name.
"Erza Vely Dragomir."
His breathing became uneven once again.
"She wasn’t some random dragon."
"She is the Queen of Atlantis."
"The Queen of Dragons."
The atmosphere inside the royal chamber instantly became heavier.
"The infamous Dragon Queen who stood against gods themselves... and never once lowered her head."
Allen’s pupils trembled.
"That monster..."
"...has drawn her blade."
His voice cracked.
"Do you understand what that means?"
Nobody answered.
Because nobody knew.
Allen laughed bitterly before looking toward the ceiling as despair slowly filled his eyes.
"It means she has declared me her prey."
His hands continued shaking uncontrollably.
"Once the Queen of Atlantis draws her blade..."
"...it never returns to its sheath until her enemy’s head falls."
He slowly lowered his head, the weight of those ancient words crushing every remaining hope inside his heart.
"She isn’t coming to negotiate..."
"She isn’t coming to threaten..."
"She is coming..."
"...to take my head."
For the first time in thousands of years...
The Demon King understood what true fear felt like.
Allen slowly closed his eyes before taking a long, deep breath. When he opened them again, the fear was still there, but the hesitation had disappeared. If the Dragon Queen had already declared him her prey, then running was no longer an option. There was only one path left for the Demon King.
War.
His expression gradually returned to that of a ruler as he looked across the royal chamber. Every demon immediately straightened their posture after seeing the change in his eyes. The fear within Allen hadn’t vanished; instead, it had transformed into absolute resolve.
"Summon every Upper Blood Demon."
His voice was calm.
"Immediately."
The command echoed throughout the chamber.
"I want every regional commander inside this castle before sunrise. Recall every legion stationed outside the kingdom, reinforce every fortress, strengthen every barrier, and begin the mobilization."
A heavy silence settled over the throne room as every demon understood the meaning behind those orders.
The Demon Kingdom...
...was preparing for war.
General Malakar immediately knelt before the throne.
"As you command, My King."
Zeri, whose body had finally regenerated completely, no longer dared speak carelessly. The arrogance that had filled his face moments ago had completely disappeared, replaced by respect and fear. He quickly lowered his head alongside the other elite demons.
"We obey, My King."
Allen slowly descended the steps of his throne until he stood directly before General Malakar and Zeri. His crimson eyes carried an unprecedented seriousness as he looked at the two High Blood Demons.
"Malakar."
"Zeri."
Both demons immediately raised their heads.
"You two will personally travel to Libeus country."
Allen’s voice grew colder.
"I don’t care how many humans die."
"I don’t care how much chaos you create."
"There is only one objective."
He paused before speaking the name that had become the center of everything.
"Kidnap Yuuta Kounari."
Both demons’ expressions turned solemn.
"If capturing him requires destroying an entire Luna city..."
"Then destroy it."
"If millions stand in your way..."
"Kill them."
"But under no circumstances..."
Allen’s eyes narrowed.
"...is Yuuta Konuari allowed to die."
He slowly turned his back toward them before looking out through the enormous window overlooking the endless darkness of the Pacific Ocean.
"The rest of you..."
His voice echoed throughout the chamber.
"Prepare for war."
The atmosphere inside the royal hall instantly changed. Demons began moving without hesitation as commanders rushed to relay orders across the kingdom. Messengers disappeared into shadows, ancient bells rang throughout the black fortress, and countless dormant legions began awakening after centuries of silence.
The Demon Kingdom...
...had officially entered a state of war.
Far away on Libeus country, beneath the peaceful evening sky, Yuuta Kounari remained trapped inside the endless nightmare of the Seven Crown Trial, completely unaware that a single conversation through the Gospel Call had changed the course of history.
Without ever drawing her sword...
Without ever leaving Agency...
Erza Vely Dragomir had forced the Demon King to mobilize his entire kingdom.
The first move had been made.
And with it...
The war between the Queen of Atlantis and the Demon King had officially begun.
To be Contiuned...
