The Earth Fire in the Stone Lodge had been extinguished for several days.

The valley finally enjoyed a moment of cool respite.

Bai Mo eagerly returned to the Stone Lodge and immediately began taking stock of his possessions, focusing on the Pill Formulas he had jotted down over time.

An Caiwei, seeing him in such a rare state, couldn't help but speak up.

"Do you need my help?"

Bai Mo thought for a moment, then nodded and said:

"The elder told me to recruit some help first, and then go ask him about the opportunity related to the Alchemy Dao."

"It shouldn't be hard to attract people with the promise of pills."

What he was worried about was whether the disciples would be able to reach the opportunity's location safely after entering the Secret Realm.

For that, they would undoubtedly need his help, and his pills.

"Senior Sister, you're well-connected and have been running around a lot lately. Could you help me gather a group of people?"

Back in Immortal Arrival City, it was Bai Mo who had helped find Lanshan and the others.

Unexpectedly, the roles were now reversed.

An Caiwei said proudly, "Don't worry, I'll make sure it's done perfectly."

But then she remembered something and quickly added:

"All the best disciples have already gone into the Secret Realm to seize their own opportunities. The ones left won't be that outstanding."

"Don't get your hopes up too high!"

Bai Mo laughed.

"I know what to expect. I'll trust your judgment, Senior Sister. I'll take whoever you choose."

"And their pay?"

"Promise them I will refine two pills for each of them, within my capabilities."

"They'll have to provide their own materials, of course. If they can't, they'll have to make up for it with Spirit Stones."

Only then did An Caiwei leave, satisfied.

It was rare to see Bai Mo care so much about something, so she was happy to lend a hand.

As for Bai Mo, he began to examine the stack of Pill Formulas in his hand.

The ink on the pages was a mix of new and old; the newer ones were formulas he had either collected or created himself while doing business with his fellow disciples.

If it were an ordinary person, upon obtaining a new formula, they would probably be overjoyed and call their friends to share the news.

But in Bai Mo's eyes, although these Pill Formulas would be considered high-quality on the market, there was still room for improvement.

Especially in the Secret Realm, where one didn't have to worry about side effects. This opened up many more possibilities.

Bai Mo fell into deep thought, his eyes flickering indeterminately in the night…

...

The compensation Bai Mo offered was generous.

An Caiwei was well aware of his skill in the Alchemy Dao, so the people she found couldn't be subpar.

At the very least, they had to be worthy of the two pills.

Thus, a young woman could often be seen moving through the crowd watching the events of the Secret Realm, asking questions.

And when someone occasionally agreed to listen, they would have to face her difficult line of questioning.

From time to time, An Caiwei would pause to watch Yuan Chu and his two companions in the Secret Realm.

The trio from Divine Dao Mountain were particularly brilliant, and had already drawn the eyes of many…

"COUGH, COUGH!"

Yuan Chu and Xiong Xin cast out a net and fished Gong Gui out of the river's rapids.

Gong Gui, with his short and stout build, lay spread-eagled on the net, truly resembling a tortoise.

As soon as he was on shore, Gong Gui coughed repeatedly. After expelling the water from his throat, a look of deep-seated resentment appeared on his face.

Yuan Chu, seeming not to notice his expression, walked over and put an arm around his shoulder.

"See? I told you your Tortoise Breathing Method isn't well-practiced."

Gong Gui angrily slapped his hand away.

"Spit it out! Why did you leave me behind again!?"

Just a moment ago, they had escaped another hot pursuit.

This time, however, it wasn't demonic creatures, but a troop of ghost soldiers that crawled up from the ground, reeking of decay.

The ghost soldiers wanted to perform a sacrificial ritual, and seeing that the three of them were brimming with vigorous qi and blood, they planned to roast them as an offering to some damn Saint Monarch.

Yuan Chu shook his head, still shaken.

"You didn't want to be turned into a meal to awaken their Saint Monarch, did you?"

"How could your short little legs keep up with me and Xiong Xin? We had no choice but to have Xiong Xin toss you in the river to hide."

Xiong Xin grinned, the back of his clothes torn open in two large gashes.

Being pursued by that troop of armored and helmeted ghost soldiers, he hadn't had an easy time either.

"Let's go. We'll follow the river downstream. We should see what we're looking for soon."

After walking for a while, Yuan Chu climbed a tree, balanced on its tip, and shaded his eyes with a hand to look into the distance.

Suddenly, his gaze sharpened, and he quickly slid down from the treetop.

"There are a lot of long worms and giant butterflies patrolling up ahead."

"That's probably the Holy Butterfly Valley our elders talk about. Over the years, plenty of people from our mountain have met their end there."

Judging by his expression, he seemed even more solemn than when they had encountered the ghost soldiers.

Gong Gui was also startled.

"It's true I can take a beating, but if I get captured and taken back by those bugs, I'm afraid things won't end well for me."

"They'll use all sorts of methods... they'll suck my bones dry and eat my marrow…"

The two of them couldn't help but look at Xiong Xin.

Xiong Xin grinned and lightly slapped his forehead.

"Looks like this Divine Technique of mine finally has a place to shine."

"Which of you has a wood-element heavenly treasure? Take it out for me to use, and don't delay!"

The three found a spot far from the river and tinkered for a bit. Soon after, waves of a sweet fragrance began to spread.

The scent was like the fragrant honey of a Bee Demon, and also like aged wine with a sweet note.

The surrounding Demon Beasts could never resist such a temptation.

Not a dozen breaths later, a sound that shook the very earth and mountains echoed through the forest, accompanied by the BUZZING hum of flapping wings.

Yuan Chu and his two companions fled for their lives, finally making it back to the riverbank just before a large horde of Demon Beasts arrived.

"Quick, let's go!"

The three of them headed down along the river.

Not long after they left, Demon Beasts arrived from all directions.

Among them, long, centipede-like creatures were particularly terrifying. They had a hundred legs, and their carefully nurtured carapaces were as hard as refined iron.

With menacing maws and huge pincers opening and closing, they made the other Demon Beasts in their path scatter.

Giant butterflies also flew in, landing on trees where they were hard to spot, camouflaged by the intricate patterns on their wings.

A passing Demon Beast didn't react in time and was bewilderedly pierced by a giant butterfly's proboscis, which then drank its fill in one long draft.

The giant butterfly flew away, leaving only a dried-up corpse on the ground.

Honeyed scents attract butterflies. Some special bear-like beasts have this ability; they lick their paws and leave behind saliva to attract butterflies and other insects.

However, in the hands of an accomplished Dharma Protector from Divine Dao Mountain, this ability was clearly taken to a whole new level.

The giant insects and butterflies drove away the other Demon Beasts and carried back a piece of brilliant green wood with great ceremony.

It seemed they truly regarded it as a rare treasure.

Seeing this scene, the spectating Divine Dao Mountain disciples were stunned.

"Xiong Xin actually obtained that Divine Technique?"

A disciple next to him, not understanding, laughed and said:

"What a great Divine Technique! That piece of wood was already no ordinary item, and now it's been enhanced even further!"

The Divine Dao Mountain disciple shook his head.

"What are you talking about? That thing's a fake. Once the special Spiritual Qi that Xiong Xin left on it dissipates, its true form will be revealed."

He watched as Yuan Chu's trio walked past giant flower buds, their cautious expressions clearly showing their apprehension.

"Tsk, tsk. Holy Butterfly Valley… and they passed through it just like that."

Someone next to him asked curiously, "They've been planning for so long. What are they looking for?"

"A treasure that has been maturing for many years, one that can cause a Dharma Protector from the mountain to transform."

The disciple from Divine Dao Mountain made no secret of it, speaking frankly.

"After so many generations of disciples, I wonder who it will fall to."

Just as he was speaking, he suddenly saw a young woman making her way through the crowd.

Her bright eyes sized up the disciple, making him a little uncomfortable, and then he heard the young woman speak:

"Excuse me, Senior Brother, are you free to take on a job?"

"The pay is excellent, offered by a Tier Three Grandmaster of Alchemy!"
