A peach tree had sprouted at the foot of the mountain suppressing the Evil Phoenix.
Just as Chen Changsheng had predicted, Manyue likely knew of their conversation and had planted it deliberately.
The peach tree wasn't quite close enough; the Evil Phoenix couldn't reach the fruit even with an outstretched hand.
Peach blossoms bloomed, fell, and yielded fruit.
He could only stare at them helplessly, his heart full of resignation.
The Evil Phoenix was dozing.
Then a peach rolled over to him.
Right now, he truly resembled the monkey from the stories, pinned beneath the Five Elements Mountain.
The Evil Phoenix opened his eyes, spotted the peach, and immediately snatched it, devouring it in huge bites.
Coming back to his senses, he paused and looked over.
Only then did he realize the peach hadn't rolled down on its own; the person standing before him had tossed it.
Manyue looked at the Evil Phoenix and asked, "Want more?"
The Evil Phoenix froze for a second, then nodded.
Manyue plucked two more and tossed them over.
The Evil Phoenix picked them up, wiped them off, and was about to take a bite.
But he suddenly stiffened, his hand trembling slightly.
The peach rolled to the side.
A moment later, the Evil Phoenix recovered.
When he opened his eyes again, his gaze was entirely different.
Under Manyue's watchful gaze, 'the Evil Phoenix' picked the peach up from the ground, wiped it off, and took a bite.
"Not bad," he remarked.
Manyue sat down, her expression calm. "The Underworld is complete. All that remains is to draw in the waters of the Yellow Springs. Once the qi destiny of the Mortal World trembles, the time will be right."
'The Evil Phoenix' continued eating the peach. "That's good."
Manyue paused. "Aren't you afraid of something going wrong?"
'The Evil Phoenix' replied, "I trust Chen Changsheng. He will undoubtedly accomplish it."
Manyue shook her head. "I wouldn't be so sure. His magical power is completely insufficient right now. If he contends with the Heavenly Dao, he will undoubtedly lose. When that time comes, the entire Underworld will merely pave the way for the Heavenly Dao."
'The Evil Phoenix' quickly polished off the rest of the peach.
Manyue simply watched him calmly, saying no more.
A moment later, he said, "There won't be any mistakes."
Manyue sighed softly and shook her head. "I don't understand why you have such high hopes for him."
'The Evil Phoenix' smiled. "He is different. In all these long years, he is the only existence completely unlike any other living being in this world."
Manyue couldn't see it. She merely said, "I am telling you to be careful, lest you truly end up paving the way for the Heavenly Dao."
'The Evil Phoenix' yawned.
"I know, I know..."
He waved a hand dismissively. "These peaches are pretty good; plant a couple more later. Don't come looking for me unless it's important. He isn't overly suspicious, but if his mind catches onto something, he'll get to the absolute bottom of it."
Manyue raised a brow. "You're leaving already? I still have one thing to say."
"Why are you nagging so much? Just spit it out!"
"The demonic body has been suppressed throughout the Underworld. Now, only the head remains. Where did you hide it?"
A faint smile curled 'the Evil Phoenix's' lips.
"Let's just say it's somewhere unexpected."
Manyue said, "Then you should go find it soon. If it isn't in one place, how will you intervene?"
"Mhm."
"Forget it..."
Manyue sighed heavily. Seeing his indifferent attitude, she waved a hand, unwilling to press the matter.
Talking any more seemed pointless anyway.
Then she heard the Evil Phoenix's voice.
"Wait..."
"Where are my peaches?!"
The Evil Phoenix's eyes went wide. He looked down, only to see three peach pits lying on the ground.
A blank expression crossed his face, as if he had no idea what had just happened.
He just stared at the three pits, burning with indignation.
"Who stole my peaches?!"
The Evil Phoenix roared in anger, struggling violently.
Under Manyue's watchful gaze, the mountain's seal actually loosened slightly from the Evil Phoenix's thrashing.
It seemed the changing seasons had brought the Evil Phoenix some gains in strength after all.
Seeing this, Manyue plucked two more peaches and tossed them to him.
The Evil Phoenix scrambled to catch them.
He didn't even bother thanking her, hungrily devouring them in massive bites.
"So good, so good..."
The Evil Phoenix instantly broke into a smile, eating with immense joy.
"Thanks, thanks! You're much better than that guy surnamed Chen..."
Manyue offered a helpless smile, shook her head, and turned to leave.
"Um..."
The Evil Phoenix hurriedly called out to stop her. "Could you pick two more for me...?"
Manyue waved her hand, and the peach tree shifted slightly closer to where he was pinned.
This way, even if he couldn't reach the fruit on the branches, he could at least pick up the ones that fell.
"Thanks, thank you so much!"
The Evil Phoenix thanked her profusely and went back to eating his peaches.
Manyue shook her head, then departed.

"The destiny of the nation is shifting south..."
Inside the Imperial Observatory in Shangjing City.
Daoist Wuwei observed the celestial phenomena to divine qi destiny. Through his eyes, he saw the qi destiny of the Imperial Palace trembling, unexpectedly showing signs of shifting south.
Seeing this, Daoist Wuwei closed his eyes. "Boundless heavenly honored one..."
In just a few short years, Great Xiang was already displaying omens of its downfall.
Could Prince Yu truly be the chosen of heaven?
With the situation developing to this point, a deep wave of exhaustion washed over Daoist Wuwei.
It seemed the outcome could no longer be changed.
Currently, Prince Yu's momentum was fierce; it seemed no one could stand in his way.
The Imperial Court had dispatched troops to intervene several times but failed to gain any advantage. Even with Prince Jin diverting some of his forces, the result remained the same.
After shattering their north-south defensive lines, Prince Yu continued to march his forces northward.
The massive army bearing Prince Yu's banner advanced with an unstoppable force, breaching city after city.
In just a few short months, Prince Yu severed Prince Jin's north-south supply lines, violently tearing a massive chunk of territory away from him.
Not stopping there, he pursued relentlessly, forcing Prince Jin to retreat further north.
Thus, Prince Jin's forces fell into a bitter predicament, besieged on both fronts.
They could neither advance nor retreat.
Ping'an received the news at Nanbeilou.
Upon learning of this, he wasn't shocked. It felt like a matter of course.
"Tower Master, the state of the world truly shifts rapidly. Prince Jin initially held the stronger hand, but now, he's like a prisoner awaiting execution, entirely at the mercy of others."
Ping'an shook his head. "Though Prince Jin has been forced north, his foundational strength remains considerable. Even a cornered rabbit will bite."
Tang Zheng paused. "Are you saying Prince Yu might suffer a massive loss later on?"
Ping'an shook his head. "Hard to say. In struggles like this, the situation changes in the blink of an eye. Who can truly predict what will happen?"
Tang Zheng pondered this.
He paused, then looked at Ping'an. "Speaking of which, Prince Yu came to me earlier. He expressed a desire to meet you, Tower Master."
Ping'an shook his head. "I won't see him."
