Tianxin Martial Master's sudden departure put the disciples of the Nanyan Mountain People on alert.

Suddenly, the people on the mountain were driven back down.

A large crowd descended the mountain in a steady stream.

"What's going on? Why are they suddenly driving people away?"

"I have no idea. Is the Southern Yan Sect going back on their word?"

"Sigh, this trip was a total waste."

"Let's head down first. Who knows, maybe they'll open the doors again tomorrow."

Some of the people heading down hung their heads in dismay. They had lined up for half the day and were just about at the front, only to be chased right back down the mountain. What kind of nonsense was this?

Chen Changsheng and Fang Miao continued walking up the mountain.

"Thud!"

A great saber slammed into the ground.

"Get off the mountain, now!"

The owner of the great saber glared ahead. Two people had been dragged out of the woods and were being dangled like chicks before being tossed toward the path down the mountain.

Yang Pu scoffed coldly and kicked them.

The pair exchanged a fearful glance. "Hurry, let's go," they muttered, scurrying down the mountain.

Fang Miao watched the two men. "They seem to be our White Night people..." she murmured.

"Seem to be?" Chen Changsheng asked.

Fang Miao nodded. "I just think they look the part, but I couldn't say for sure. Within White Night, we rarely interact."

Yang Pu heard the noise and immediately turned his head.

"Who hasn't scrambled off yet!?"

Yang Pu barked, lifting the great saber in his hand.

Fang Miao's heart skipped a beat, and she shrank back a half-step, frightened by Yang Pu's aura.

But what happened next caught her completely off guard.

Yang Pu suddenly lowered his great saber. He bowed his head and cupped his hands. "I did not realize Mister was present. Please forgive my rudeness."

His words left Fang Miao stunned, and even the Nanyan Mountain disciples behind him stared in shock.

Chen Changsheng looked at him and said, "We meet again."

Yang Pu paused and said, "When did Mister arrive in Yuanchuan?"

"A couple of days ago."

Yang Pu nodded. "I only just returned myself. I spent quite some time down the mountain clearing out bandits. As soon as I got back, this happened."

He paused and said, "If Mister is here to visit, I'm afraid you will have to come back another day. Our sect master has ordered that no outsiders are permitted to remain on the mountain today."

Chen Changsheng paused and said, "Brother Yang, might you go and pass along a message? This Chen is here specifically to visit your sect master."

Yang Pu blinked. "This..."

He hesitated. By all rules, this shouldn't be allowed.

But given their connection, he felt there was no harm in passing along a message.

"Since it is Mister, I will go report it. However..."

Yang Pu said, "Our sect master may not necessarily agree to see you, so..."

Chen Changsheng smiled warmly. "He might just see me."

Unsure of what to make of that, Yang Pu didn't press the issue and went to report it himself.

Several quarters of an hour passed.

Fang Miao asked, "Mister, do you know this great saber Yang Pu?"

"We crossed paths a few days ago."

"He seems to have a lot of respect for you, Mister."

Chen Changsheng smiled and said, "I am an old acquaintance with a Master who taught him, so there is that layer of connection between us."

"I see."

Fang Miao nodded, then asked, "Mister, you seem to know a great deal about the affairs of the jianghu?"

"Not really." Chen Changsheng shook his head and said, "It was just a coincidence."

"Is that so..."

Fang Miao didn't believe him. Her mind spun with speculation.

An immortal master of Cultivation mixing in among a group of people from the jianghu—what kind of spectacle was that?

Then again...

There probably wasn't a single martial artist out there who could match Mister. Well, that wasn't quite right either. It was simply that a martial artist could never match a cultivator.

The gap between them was like heaven and earth.

A moment later, Yang Pu returned.

He looked at Chen Changsheng with a complicated expression. Opening his mouth, he asked, "Mister, do you know our sect master?"

Chen Changsheng said, "This Chen does not know, so I guessed that he might know This Chen."

"Huh?"

Yang Pu blinked in confusion. He paused, then cupped his hands. "Our sect master invites you. Mister, please follow me."

Fang Miao looked at Yang Pu and asked, "Can I go along?"

Yang Pu nodded. "The sect master said you could."

Fang Miao rejoiced inwardly and quickly fell into step behind Chen Changsheng.

As they walked, Chen Changsheng asked, "When did you enter Nanyan Mountain?"

"Quite a while ago."

Yang Pu said, "It was a good few years back. Back then, the donkey of Guizhou had exhausted its tricks. Thankfully, the sect master took pity and gave me a bite to eat, and I've stayed on the mountain ever since."

"Oh..."

Chen Changsheng asked, "Was The Late Emperor still alive back then?"

"He was." Yang Pu nodded. "Why do you ask this, Mister?"

"Just asking."

They continued forward, eventually reaching a cascading waterfall.

This place was vastly different from elsewhere. It was a forbidden ground of the Southern Yan Sect, the very place where the sect master resided.

The path ahead was sectioned off by a bamboo grove.

Yang Pu stood outside the bamboo grove and called out loudly, "Sect Master, Mister Chen has arrived!"

"Please invite Mister Chen in."

A voice echoed from within the bamboo grove. It sounded faint and distant, yet was remarkably resonant.

Chen Changsheng paused upon hearing this voice. The voice didn't sound like that of a eunuch at all. But thinking it over carefully, it wasn't anything strange; once a person's martial arts reached a profound level, altering one's vocal cords was perfectly ordinary.

Mister Chen stepped forward, and Fang Miao hurried to keep up behind him.

She looked left and right, highly curious about this scenery.

"To think a place of such breathtaking spiritual beauty was hidden right here on Nanyan Mountain."

This trip had definitely been worth it.

But what intrigued Fang Miao even more was this rarely seen master of Nanyan Mountain.

Passing through the bamboo grove, the view suddenly opened up.

A cascading waterfall accompanied long pavilions and tall towers.

The gentle babble of flowing water echoed in their ears, relaxing the mind and lifting the spirit.

"It's so nice here..."

Fang Miao pursed her lips and didn't hold back her praise. To her, this place was like a secluded paradise.

Chen Changsheng looked ahead and saw a figure hurrying over.

The man wore ordinary clothes, nothing more than rough linen and hemp. His hair hung loose, and his face appeared somewhat aged, but his eyes betrayed a hint of an effeminate aura.

Hong Xiang hurried forward. He flicked his sleeves and said, "This servant greets Mister Chen."

His immense deference gave Fang Miao a start.

"Eunuch, please rise quickly."

Chen Changsheng helped him up and said, "It has been many years. Eunuch Hong, you look to have aged a bit."

Hong Xiang offered a helpless smile and said, "We mortals naturally cannot compare to Mister. Mister possesses endless Lifespan and does not age, while my own lifespan is but a few fleeting decades, rushing by like flowing water. But you, Mister—after all these years, your appearance remains the same, as radiant as ever. It is truly enviable."
