Within the demon cave, on a desolate and secluded stretch of land, Lin Zheyu sat inside the Primordial Chaos Pool. The golden Heavenly Eye within his sea of consciousness remained fixed on the formation of the natal shamanic pattern within his flesh. Through the Heavenly Eye's vision, he saw that, like divine patterns, the natal shamanic pattern was likewise constructed from the most fundamental rule patterns.

These fundamental rule patterns resembled the radicals that formed human characters. Different rule patterns combined in different ways to create the various components of the natal shamanic pattern, ultimately forming the powerful runes of the Shamanic Dao.

"Interesting. The fundamental rule patterns contained within the Shamanic Clan's shamanic patterns are vastly different from those found in divine patterns and demonic patterns," Lin Zheyu murmured softly.

A look of fascination spread across his face. It was as though he were gazing upon an incomparably beautiful woman without a single thread of clothing, his eyes gleaming with excitement.

They seem to belong to two entirely different systems of rules. Divine patterns and demonic patterns are simply different branches of the same rule system, while shamanic patterns share almost nothing in common with either of them. Can they truly be fused together? Lin Zheyu pondered inwardly.

Under Lin Zheyu's control, immense quantities of chaos origin energy flowed into his body. Once inside, the chaos origin energy acted as an indispensable catalyst. Only under its influence could the fundamental rule patterns that composed the natal shamanic pattern merge into a complete shamanic pattern. As he watched it slowly take shape, inspiration suddenly struck him.

Perhaps he could try incorporating the fundamental rule patterns that made up divine patterns and demonic patterns into the natal shamanic pattern itself. The moment the idea occurred to him, he put it into action. Under his control, the rule patterns that formed his divine patterns drifted toward the natal shamanic pattern, which was still condensing.

Time passed slowly, day after day. Condensing the natal shamanic pattern proved far more difficult than he had imagined. The first time Lin Zheyu had successfully formed it was with the Blessing of the Ancestral Shaman serving as the catalyst and with Qiong Yun's assistance. Even then, it had taken him roughly ten days.

Now, however, without either the Blessing of the Ancestral Shaman or Qiong Yun's help, Lin Zheyu had to rely entirely on himself. Even though he had already formed the natal shamanic pattern once before, it still took him nearly ten days to reconstruct it.

Looking at the newly reformed natal shamanic pattern within his body, Lin Zheyu shook his head slightly. "No, they simply won't fuse."

Shamanic patterns were fundamentally different from divine patterns. Having recondensed the natal shamanic pattern entirely through his own efforts, Lin Zheyu now possessed a much deeper understanding of it.

A shamanic pattern was like the finest and most sophisticated precision instrument, incapable of tolerating even the slightest flaw. Divine patterns, on the other hand, resembled crude lumps of iron hammered out by an apprentice blacksmith. They were rough and simplistic.

Because of that, divine patterns were far more tolerant of imperfections, whereas shamanic patterns allowed absolutely no errors. They simply could not accommodate even the smallest fragment of any other type of fundamental rule pattern.

Since I can't incorporate the fundamental rule patterns of divine patterns into a shamanic pattern, then I'll try the opposite instead, Lin Zheyu thought.

Compared to the exquisite precision of a shamanic pattern, divine patterns were astonishingly crude. When Qiong Yun first saw Lin Zheyu, he had openly looked down on the divine patterns Lin Zheyu had condensed. From his perspective, they were unbearably rough and unsophisticated, utterly devoid of elegance.

Still, being crude had its advantages. Forcing the fundamental rule patterns that composed a shamanic pattern into the far less refined divine patterns would clearly be much easier.

Streams of chaos origin energy continuously poured into his body. Nourished by the chaos origin energy, strands of ancient, primordial Dao resonance patterns gradually emerged throughout his flesh.

These ancient Dao resonance patterns were the fundamental building blocks of the natal shamanic pattern. Ever since he had first condensed the natal shamanic pattern, these ancient and powerful rule patterns had become integrated into his body, becoming a part of his very flesh.

As Lin Zheyu's attainments in the Shamanic Dao deepened, his strength increased, and he condensed more shamanic patterns, these ancient foundational Dao resonance patterns would likewise continue to multiply, until he ultimately evolved into a terrifying being comparable to the chaos god and demon.

Under Lin Zheyu's control, the ancient and powerful chaos Dao resonance patterns that had just been nurtured were guided toward his divine patterns, with chaos origin energy serving as the catalyst. He attempted to merge them together, but it was far from an easy task.

A day later.

"It can be done, but the difficulty is immense. At my current level of strength and understanding, it's still beyond me."

Lin Zheyu abandoned his attempt to fuse the ancient Dao resonance patterns into his divine patterns. To accomplish something like this, he would first need a far deeper mastery of shamanic patterns.

"I should leave this place first. This approach is far too slow. I'd be better off improving the Primordial Chaos True Art and using that technique to integrate the Shamanic Dao into martial cultivation instead." Lin Zheyu shook his head slightly, abandoning the idea of beginning with shamanic patterns themselves.

Having made his decision, he wasted no more time. It was also about time to report to the Martial Alliance outpost. With a flick of his right hand, the inferior heavenly treasures and earthly wonders, along with the medicinal dregs required to cultivate the Primordial Chaos True Art, appeared in his palm. A vast surge of blood qi enveloped them all.

Use 1 unit of Origin Force to cultivate the Primordial Chaos True Art.

A vast torrent of mysterious energy surged forth, sweeping together the immense energy stored within the three great divine repositories and the energy contained in the heavenly treasures and earthly wonders before pouring them into his body. The reserves accumulated within the divine repositories were sufficient to support the expenditure of 1 unit of Origin Force to improve the Primordial Chaos True Art.

Within the space of consciousness, Lin Zheyu sat cross-legged inside a wooden tub filled with a steaming medicinal bath brimming with potent medicinal power.

His blood qi burst into motion, rapidly absorbing the bath's powerful medicinal effects and channeling them into his natal shamanic pattern as he began performing a secret art of the Shamanic Clan. Lin Zheyu had refined and modified the secret art, turning it into a cultivation technique that martial artists could forcibly execute.

The cost of using it, however, was tremendous. As he sat in the tub, Lin Zheyu's face cycled wildly through red, yellow, green, blue, and black like a revolving lantern display. His features twisted into a terrifying grimace, as though he were enduring unimaginable agony.

A few breaths later, Lin Zheyu slowly opened his bloodshot eyes and said with lingering fear, "Hiss... If someone tried cultivating this in the real world, they'd probably end up dead."

He had no desire whatsoever to experience that living nightmare again. Even with his formidable physique and unyielding willpower, he had come dangerously close to his limit.

Lin Zheyu shook his head slightly. "The Primordial Chaos True Art is still far too crude. It needs continuous refinement and optimization. Otherwise, the agony of cultivating it is so unbearable that even with Origin Force, I won't be able to use it many times a day."

Lin Zheyu looked at the status panel in his consciousness and found himself even more speechless. 1 unit of Origin Force had only increased the progress by 1%. The advancement was simply too slow.

Lin Zheyu shook his head and muttered, "Forget it. I'll head to the outpost first."

His figure flickered as he stepped out of the Primordial Chaos Pool. With a casual wave of his right hand, the Primordial Chaos Pool rapidly shrank before landing in his palm.
