Within the void space, black winds howled ceaselessly. Lin Zheyu stepped out through the spatial rift and entered the endless darkness. The Heavenly Eye within his sea of consciousness had long since opened.

Standing at the entrance to the rift, he carefully surveyed the void with the Heavenly Eye. Since Mo Qingyang and the others could infiltrate the demon realm to hunt yao, it stood to reason that the yao could likewise lie in ambush within the void, waiting to hunt cultivators attempting to infiltrate their world.

Lin Zheyu sneered inwardly, As expected!

His expression remained perfectly calm, as though he had noticed nothing at all, and he continued forward. When Lin Zheyu reached the midpoint between the two spatial rift entrances, ripples suddenly spread through the void. In an instant, a ferocious yao with an exceptionally well-concealed aura silently closed in, using the violent, chaotic rule energy of the void as cover.

"Die!" A cruel grin spread across the yao's hideous face, its jet-black eyes flashing with savage killing intent. It thrust out a massive claw, ghostly light flickering across its palm as it slammed down toward Lin Zheyu's head.

A violent gust swept past. To the yao's astonishment, its monstrous claw passed straight through Lin Zheyu's body.

Horror flashed through the yao's mind as an ominous premonition seized it. Impossible! How can he be that fast?

It spun around and bolted toward the spatial rift, but it was already too late. The instant its claw came down, a cold blade of light silently swept through the darkness, cleaving down from the top of the yao's head and splitting it cleanly in two.

The yao's severed body writhed as it attempted to regenerate, but there was no way Lin Zheyu would allow that. The Voidcleaver saber flashed again and again, more than a dozen arcs of blade light slicing through the air, reducing the squirming body into dozens of chunks of flesh in an instant.

Lin Zheyu looked at the writhing chunks of flesh and nodded in satisfaction. "This yao is quite impressive. Its defenses and concealment abilities are both exceptional. It's well worth studying."

With a wave of his right hand, an immense surge of blood qi swept out, suppressing the yao flesh within the Primordial Chaos Pool. The more Lin Zheyu studied the Primordial Chaos Pool, the more remarkable he found it.

Ordinary living creatures would likely die before long if stored within its internal space. Yet when used to imprison yao, it produced unexpectedly excellent results. Not only could it preserve their lives, but it also suppressed their astonishing regenerative abilities, making it an ideal dharma treasure for containing yao.

"Hm? There's another one!" A cold smile curled across Lin Zheyu's lips as he looked toward a particular spot in the void. "Your concealment is impressive. You almost got away."

It was no wonder the yao dared to lie in wait within the node's void. Combined with its extraordinary concealment and the chaotic, violent rule energy permeating the space, it was nearly impossible to detect. Had Lin Zheyu's Heavenly Eye not been powerful enough, the lurking yao might truly have escaped.

Taking a single step with his right foot, his figure vanished. The space beneath him seemed to shrink by thousands upon thousands of times, and he appeared in the void several kilometers away in the blink of an eye.

The hidden yao's expression changed dramatically. "This is bad! He actually detected me. Could this human be a Nascent Soul realm expert in disguise?"

Originally, it had intended to remain hidden in the void and deliver a fatal strike to the human. But after discovering that Lin Zheyu possessed such astonishing perception that he could detect its aura, it immediately abandoned that plan. It was no mindless cannon fodder driven only by slaughter. It belonged to the noble intelligent breed of yao.

Realizing the situation had turned against it, the yao immediately turned and fled. Its demon essence surged through its body, sending ripples across the void. A somewhat ethereal yao suddenly emerged from the darkness, its body covered from head to tail in dense, bizarre demonic patterns. Its long form resembled a Western dragon, with a pair of wings sprouting from its back.

"Roar!"

Sensing the terrifying threat closing in from behind, the yao let out a guttoral noise. Its enormous wings snapped open with a powerful beat, transforming it into a streak of black shadow as it sped toward the spatial rift leading back to the demon realm. It was incredibly fast. Within the void, the yao seemed to become an intangible shadow, leaving not the slightest trace of its aura behind.

Within the node's void space, where the environment was so chaotic and complex, even Nascent Soul realm cultivators would struggle to detect its presence. This was the innate gift of the Shadow Dragon race. Anyone capable of uncovering their hidden traces was invariably a terrifying existence that could not be provoked. That was precisely why the Shadow Dragon had turned and fled the moment it realized Lin Zheyu had detected it.

The yao was fast, but Lin Zheyu was even faster. His blood qi surged explosively as he pushed the Earth Shrinking Technique to its limit. At the same instant, golden scales spread across his body, and the wings on his back beat once. Invisible fluctuations of spatial laws rippled outward, and the distance between Lin Zheyu and the Shadow Dragon rapidly closed.

Human, you'll never catch me! Hahaha!

A strange voice echoed directly within Lin Zheyu's mind as the Shadow Dragon flashed him an arrogant grin.

By now, it had almost reached the spatial rift. The Shadow Dragon was certain that by the time Lin Zheyu caught up, it would already have crossed into the demon realm.

"Is that so?" Lin Zheyu replied with a cold smile.

His right hand tightened around Voidcleaver as energy roared through his body. He then swung it toward the fleeing Shadow Dragon, an aura capable of destroying the world erupting from him. A flicker of fear crossed the Shadow Dragon's eyes at the sight of the strike, but it quickly faded, replaced by savage killing intent and the relief of believing it had escaped death. The distance between them was too great. With the chaotic, violent rule energy distorting the void, that slash could never inflict any serious damage.

"Hahaha! You can't kill me! I..." The Shadow Dragon's vicious eyes widened as boundless terror overwhelmed them. "How is this possible?"

The slash Lin Zheyu had unleashed suddenly flickered and vanished into the void. When it reappeared, it was already directly in front of the Shadow Dragon.

Terror surged through the Shadow Dragon's mind.

A Nascent Soul realm cultivator! So he really is a Nascent Soul realm cultivator!

Only cultivators at the Nascent Soul realm could wield abilities resembling teleportation. Lin Zheyu's slash had combined the power of Voidcleaver with his strongest technique, Gods and Demons Extinguished. The instant the blade light left his saber, it traversed space itself, appearing directly before the Shadow Dragon.

The blade light plunged into the Shadow Dragon's body, cleaving it cleanly in two. Life rapidly faded from its fear-filled, monstrous eyes as destructive energy ravaged the wound, preventing its regeneration.

Lin Zheyu's figure blurred as he appeared beside its corpse, delight flashing through his eyes. "What incredible luck! A Shadow Dragon that walks the gaps between shadows, and a six-pattern one at that."

Even among yao, Shadow Dragons were an exceptionally rare race. From birth, they possessed innate demonic patterns. Their powerful Shadow Demonic Patterns allowed them to move through the gaps between shadows themselves.

With a wave of his right hand, Lin Zheyu collected the still-writhing Shadow Dragon into the Primordial Chaos Pool. His figure flashed away from the spatial rift connected to the demon realm, and he plunged into the lake of energy suspended within the void.

Lin Zheyu had not forgotten the true purpose of this trip. The Shadow Dragon and the previous yao were merely unexpected windfalls. He had come here to use the node's lake of energy to further increase his strength.

After diving into the demonic lake, Lin Zheyu swam toward its depths. Here, the violent, chaotic rule energy was even more turbulent than that of the surrounding void.

Concealed by it, even if Lin Zheyu caused a massive disturbance, the Deity Transformation realm expert stationed outside the node would not detect him. Unless, of course, the commotion he created surpassed the reaction caused by a Deity Transformation realm cultivator entering the node's void itself. Clearly, that was impossible.
