Chapter 24: Chapter 24: Cassie Has A Mischievous Side

"I could not control my strength. I had bought some pills the day before and took them; it seems I broke through."

Derrick looked down and noticed that the blood and, at some point, the gel in his tub had been replaced on its own.

Since he had been earning now, no one would question where he got the pills from.

"The same pills you said you would get me?" She asked after a brief silence.

"Yep. They are so powerful that you might be surprised after eating them." Derrick replied while cleaning the remaining dirt on the front. "By the way, what’s the time? I came at 3:30 to take the pills in the bath."

He was trying his best not to focus on the sound of water that he had been hearing in the background.

Cassie carefully wiped herself before getting up and flushing.

She glanced at the mirror above the washbasin and said, "5:00pm. You have been inside for an hour and a half. Just how long have you been sleeping?"

Only after washing her hands did she pick up her shorts and button them.

"I don’t know, I kind of passed out. The breakthrough was straining, but it helped me heal up pretty good." Derrick was done cleaning up and got up from the tub, pulling the illusionary curtain apart with both hands to create a gap.

"What are you doing?" Seeing Cassie pick up his clean clothes, which she had thrown in the Chute at some point, he frowned.

From the memories, he knew that Cassie did not like cleaning and more importantly...

He did not bring a second set of clothes.

Cassie met his eyes and grinned widely. It was a proper smirk that she only ever showed her family.

"Just cleaning up." Taking his clothes, she walked towards the door of the bathroom, which hissed open. "You can come out now."

"Cassie..." Realisation dawned on Derrick’s face as he looked at her in horror. "I need those clothes."

"These old clothes?" She raised the clothes in the air and waved in his face, mocking him. "How about you come and take them from me?"

"You!" Before he could finish, the door hissed shut, and Cassie was gone.

Derrick rushed out of the tub and looked around.

There was nothing for him to cover himself with.

"That little minx. She took advantage of the curtain to plan this." With nothing to cover himself, Derrick peeked out of the bathroom and looked around to check if Rebecca was nearby.

So he could ask her for a set of clothes.

But as it turned out, she was not there, and even the door of her room was closed.

"It must have been her. She closed it, so I have to knock on her door, and if I did that, she would see me like this." Derrick activated the All Seeing Eyes and checked where Rebecca was.

She was not even in her room. She was downstairs, in the kitchen, preparing the dinner.

"Damn! I have no choice but run down like this." If Derrick had not been as shameless as he was, he would have hidden in the bathroom until someone came to look for him.

"You have no idea who you messed with." Derrick smirked and sneaked out while counting the seconds of his technique.

When he accidentally activated the technique before, he had wasted 3 seconds.

1 second to check Rebecca’s position. So currently, Derrick only had 6 seconds left.

He rushed to the stairs. With his speed, that only took him a second.

Another second to climb down the stairs without making a sound.

Fortunately, Rebecca had her back turned to him, and she was enjoying the songs playing in the kitchen, humming along with it.

He wasted two seconds to find the perfect time before.

Whoosh!

He made a break for it and crossed the hall in less than a second.

As if sensing something, Rebecca turned her head around and only saw a blur of skin colour.

"Derrick?" She walked to the corner and peeked out only to see the door closing.

"Was he naked?" She thought with a weird look on her face before shaking her head, "I must be mistaken."

She turned around and focused on chopping the vegetables.

"That was faster than I had thought." Cassie was lying on her bed. She smirked when she saw Derrick sneaking in, butt naked. "Did you not check the chute? I left your underwear inside."

Derrick turned around to face her. His expression froze the moment he heard her words. "Don’t lie, there was nothing."

He almost believed, but he remembered looking in the direction of the Chute and not seeing anything inside it.

His technique was still active, and since Cassie had her legs spread open, he could see everything. He spent the last two seconds getting his payback.

"How long are you going to stand there and stare at me?" Cassie chuckled, not even aware of what was happening. "I did think you enjoyed flashing others your... junk."

Derrick did not back down this time and slowly walked towards the bed and picked up the clothes that were already lying there. It seems Cassie had picked out a new set for him. "As long as others don’t mind looking."

"Snort!" Cassie rolled her eyes before pointing at the bloody bandages lying on the ground. "Stop trying to act cool and clean up those bandages."

Before going out to take a bath, Derrick had left them here after taking the first pill.

Once he got dressed, he picked up bandages and dumped them in the bin, he went back to his bed and picked up the tablet before opening the Novel app he had been uploading on.

The moment he opened it, a torrent of notifications came bombarding him.

Derrick had turned his notifications off since he did not like them clustering his lock screen.

But who would have thought he would get more than 100 notifications that included messages from privileged readers, comments on the book and gifts that even the app could only show as 99+.

"What happened here?" whispering to himself, he decided to check his rankings and saw something that left him more speechless than Cassie catching him naked.
