Standing in front of the Quest Hall, I accepted the bag of silver coins from Pulvir and the rest of Very Sighed. It seemed heavier than what I was promised.

’That’s good, but...’

My vision pierced through the distance and located a weak-looking Half-Orc.

Ghush had barely survived the blighting. The Divine Power of a high-rank healer in the Adventurer’s Guild was the only way they could wash away the Necromantic curse that plagued him.

However, Ghush did not get out unscathed.

He was basically bedridden for the next few months. Unless the members of Very Sighed paid an even higher price to expedite his healing, Ghush was effectively on forced vacation.

Luckily, I knew that Pulvir was going to be sending a copy of the <Yearner’s Grimoire> back to the demons soon.

The members of Very Sighed had completed one of their most pressing missions in Walvaskaz.

They deserved a good rest.

"Contact me if you need any more help exploring the Layers Beneath!" I smiled, waving at the disguised demons as they left. "Also, please do refer me to any potential clients! I really need money."

Pulvir replied with a single wave of his hand, "Will do. Thanks again, Aventine."

"Thanks, Aventine!"

Surprisingly, the demons each said goodbye with a genuine smile as we parted.

Chained Demons were such an interesting subspecies.

Though their smiling faces and gratitude were as genuine as they could be, their weapons could not deceive me. Pulvir’s tower shield, Ghush’s greatsword, Shima’s wrist-mounted crossbow, and Quince and Li’lsuo’s staves...

These weapons had all grown in strength and quality.

Their natural malice had never ceased to flow, even as they said goodbye and handed me a pouch of 50 silver pieces.

Thanks for the tip, I guess?

But why did it feel like they gave it to me with a bit of grievance...

’Even that fox demon, Afla, had been a bit too needy for money. Is it because they all have to collect huge amounts of gold and silver as fast as possible?’

Amused, I turned around and got ready to hand in a report.

[Exploration Summary of the Ruins Beneath Building 103F-C4 in the Höwerwaslis District]

With a stack of papers in hand, I walked into the Quest Hall.

What an effortless 21 Silver coins...

Even the process of writing the report had been simple. It was easy to manipulate the water contained in ink using my <Power of the Sea>.

I turned an A-Rank <Trait> that many would kill to have into my own personal printer.

"Heh,"

I couldn’t help but chuckle.

This was how magical powers had to be used—augmenting one’s own daily life was the pinnacle of applications.

Looking at my stats, I admired my new S-Rank <Trait> for half a second before finding my Physique and Mind insufficient.

My Spirit was growing well, but the bottleneck of the other two needed a lot of work.

Unfortunately, if I used traditional methods to break through the bottleneck of my Mind and Physique, it would take a much larger amount of time.

Thus, for now, I was going to do what a mage did best.

I was going to raise my Spirit stats to 79 in the coming months and advance to 4th Circle.

To do this, I needed to drain and refill my soul of all its mana repeatedly. The easiest way to do so, of course, was [Absolute Awareness] to drain, and <Manakinesis> to draw in more mana from my surroundings.

So, I needed a target for [Absolute Awareness] to make sure I didn’t waste a single drop of mana.

’It’s time to do some research.’

Now that my mind was supplemented by <Perfect Estimate>, I had a little less difficulty comprehending the knowledge that flooded my mind every time. I could retain a greater amount of information long enough for the sake of documentation and record-keeping.

It was finally time to build a library.

As for what the contents of my first books would be—well, I had already written a few test pages.

Melia’s Dance of a Thousand Cuts had been a hurried test run.

Now, I planned to create my own personal Martial Art and see if I could design one that could eventually bring me to the peak of this world’s physicality.

The goal was to be able to fistfight gods.

Of course, the day I started practicing said Martial Art would have to wait until I had enough time.

’If only I had <Traits> related to time... but that would also make me age faster.’

Suddenly, the temptation of becoming an Undead ballooned. Luckily, the thought popped into oblivion when I recalled what I loved about being alive.

"Sigh,"

As for cultivating my Mind... well, this could be supplemented soon.

After all, Manakinesis also relied on the Mind. More than that, [Absolute Awareness] always forced my neurons into overdrive.

The headaches were so never-ending that I’d forgotten what it was like to not have a headache.

’Indeed, I should really rush a Psychic Technique to help my brain. It would be the greatest support for my gift... And maybe I can get rid of that constant buzz in my head.’

Then, when I eventually collected all <Eight Eyes of Bhulmasine>, I could use <Deduction> to the utmost.

"Mm, that feels like a good plan."

As such.

—Tap.

After making my way back to my Mage Tower, I placed a notebook down, filled with organized notes from my analysis of demon physiology and Chained Demon psychology. In this regard, my <Power of the Sea> was truly a blessing.

I wouldn’t have to waste time writing.

All of my thoughts could be translated straight into text and calculations.

"Aha, perhaps looking at Grakkis made me rather inspired by a life... or death... centered around magical research into the body and soul. Was this the true reason for the undying dead? Was this..."
