Infinite Awakening: 10,000x EXP Converter!
Chapter 40: [39]: The Fate’s Loaded Dice, Planning the RaidHis body felt stronger and tougher. The bruises faded. The small cuts closed. His bones felt like iron rods wrapped in steel.
He opened the door to his room. Martha was sleeping, breathing much easier. The VIT potion was helping. The hard crystal patches on her fingers were softening. She was not cured, but she was stable.
Leo was drawing. Another stick-figure warrior standing on a defeated monster. He drew with deep focus, like a child who used pictures because speaking was too dangerous.
"Alvian," Leo said without looking up. "Are you done fighting?"
Alvian knelt next to him. "Not yet. One more fight. A big one."
Leo nodded. He picked up his charcoal and added a big castle with tall walls behind the monster.
"One more," Leo whispered.
Tomorrow he would plan the attack on the Magnus Estate. Tonight he slept. The glowing Die waited in his inventory for the right moment.
—
Alvian looked at the Fate’s Loaded Dice. In his System interface, it was a small six-sided die with multiplier symbols on each face. In the real world, it was invisible. The item only existed inside his System inventory. But he could feel its power through his Talent.
The Die worked in a simple way. It activated automatically on his next multiplier roll. It did not replace the roll. Instead, it forced the roll to land on the Epic tier. The lowest possible multiplier was 1,000x. Even with a small amount of EXP, the result would be huge. The best result—a 5,000x multiplier on a large fight—could change the power balance of the entire continent.
’When should I use it?’ Alvian thought.
Attacking the Magnus Estate was the best choice. But the timing during the fight was very important. If he used it too early on simple guards, the sudden EXP gain might hurt his body. If he used it too late on the Duke alone, the starting EXP pool would be too small for the 5,000x multiplier.
He came up with the best plan: use Gambler’s Delay on the entire fight. Save up all the EXP from the guards, the bodyguards, and the Duke into one massive pool, then release it while Fate’s Loaded Dice was active.
A guaranteed Epic multiplier on fifty B-Rank guards, three A-Rank bodyguards, and a Level 45 Duke would yield tens or hundreds of millions of EXP.
But there was a danger. The Die guaranteed an Epic roll, but it did not guarantee his body could handle the energy. A 5,000x multiplier on 100,000 base EXP would create 500 million EXP. Even with VIT 68, his Flesh Limit could only safely hold 4,500 EXP at once. The Emergency Protocol would have to store the rest. The EXP Bank said its space was infinite, but Alvian had never tested it with such a huge amount.
If the Bank failed, the overwhelming EXP could blow his body apart from the inside.
He needed expert advice.
——-
Serah’s sat at her workbench, looking at glowing diagrams of energy pathways. The dark circles under her eyes were worse than before.
"I need your help," Alvian said.
Serah looked up. "Did you find another S-Rank Skill?"
"Not this time." He sat across from her. "I have a way to guarantee a massive surge of power during my next major fight. The energy gain will be enormous. Far beyond anything my body has handled before. I need to know if my pathways can survive the flood."
Serah stopped writing. "How enormous?"
"Think about every kill in a large battle pooled together. Fifty-plus enemies. Three A-Rank bodyguards. A Level 45 Duke. All of their energy, released into my body at once, multiplied by a factor between one thousand and five thousand."
Serah’s pen clattered against the table. She stared at him.
"One thousand to five thousand times the base energy," she repeated slowly. "From a battle that size?"
"Yes."
"Where did you get something like that?"
"I traded eight days of bad luck for good luck."
He did not explain further, and she did not ask.
Serah opened a diagram of his energy pathways on her tablet. His main Clearwater channel was wider now, glowing bright blue. But his side channels were still thin and weak, struggling to hold S-Rank power.
She studied the numbers on her screen. Her fingers moved across the diagrams, tracing flow rates and capacity thresholds. The silence stretched for almost a full minute.
"The problem isn’t whether your body can hold it," she said, pointing at the chart. "The problem is whether you can distribute the energy fast enough. You’re talking about an instantaneous release. All of that power will hit your pathways at once."
She did some quick math. Numbers filled her screen.
"If the total energy is under ten million units, your pathways can handle the strain. The excess flows into your overflow reserves automatically, and you can spend the energy as fast as you can think. With your mental processing speed, you can distribute about ten stat points per second."
She stopped and frowned.
"If it is over ten million, your pathways might slow down. The overflow reserves will still catch the excess, but the shock could hurt your body. Broken blood vessels. Torn muscles. Or worse."
"How do I fix that?"
"Plan your allocations in advance. Don’t let the energy sit in your body while you decide where to put it. Have a strict order ready: put everything into your physical resilience first to expand your capacity during the flood. Then push energy into your Essence reserves. Then the rest."
She looked at him. "And do not use your Domain during the fight. If you use it before the energy release, your Essence will be empty. You need full Essence to cushion the shock."
’No Domain during the fight,’ Alvian thought. ’Only Clearwater Palm, Clearwater Coating, and Severing Sword Aura. And since the Die activates automatically, I must start pooling energy before the first kill.’
"The Magnus Estate," Serah said softly. "You are going after the Duke."
Alvian did not deny it.
"Tomorrow," he said. "Maybe the day after. I need one day to rest."
Serah stayed quiet for a long moment.
"Duke Gaius Magnus is Level 45," she said. "He has an A-Rank Magma Behemoth Talent. He has three A-Rank bodyguards (Level 38 to 42) and fifty B-Rank guards. Plus a defense grid. And his transformation turns him into a nine-foot-tall living volcano."
"I know."
"Alvian," she warned. "Your Domain melts matter, and magma is melted rock. Your acid counters his Talent perfectly. But his bodyguards have shield defenses. Their force fields will resist your acid. You must get past them to hit the Duke."
