After dinner, Naomi and the others headed to the restroom.

Left alone in the lobby, Luca checked the messages waiting on his phone.

<<<Vivienne: Thank you so much, Little Husband! The food was delicious. Love you!>>>

<<<Arabella: Luca, the food you made was exactly to my taste. Thank you. Mwah.>>>

<<<Amelia: Luca, you’ve never told me you could cook like this. It was absolutely divine. Thank youuuuu [kiss]>>>

A smile tugged at his lips as he replied to each of them before slipping his phone back into his pocket. Leaning against the sofa by the floor-to-ceiling windows, he closed his eyes for a moment, enjoying the quiet.

A clear, graceful voice interrupted his thoughts.

"Luca. Long time no see."

He opened his eyes.

Standing before him was a woman with an elegant oval face and flawless fair skin. Her features were refined and striking, giving her the air of a well-bred lady from an influential family.

Unlike Arabella’s naturally detached temperament, however, this woman’s aloofness felt different.

Arabella simply showed little interest in people or things that didn’t matter to her, remaining calm no matter the situation.

This woman, on the other hand, carried a faint sense of superiority behind her polite smile. It was subtle enough that most people would never notice.

Only she knew how much of that smile was genuine.

"What?" she teased lightly. "Don’t recognize me anymore?"

Luca got to his feet with a smile.

"How could I not? Our class rep is just as beautiful as ever."

The woman before him was Ivy Celeste, the class rep from his university days.

Back then, Ivy had been one of the most popular girls on campus. She was beautiful, came from a wealthy family, and carried herself with effortless confidence. Boys from other faculties had confessed to her more than once, though no one ever knew if any of them had succeeded.

There had even been rumors that she liked Luca.

Then again, considering how outstanding he was back then, it wasn’t exactly hard to believe.

As graduation approached, she’d quietly asked around about his family background.

The moment she learned the truth, everything stopped there.

Not long afterward, she left the country for graduate school, and they gradually lost touch.

Over the years, the only glimpse he’d had of her life came through the occasional travel photo she posted on Instagram.

Seeing her again after all this time, he had to admit she had become even more poised and attractive than she had been in college.

While Luca was observing her, Ivy was doing exactly the same.

She had genuinely liked him back then.

He studied hard, stayed humble, kept himself neat, and most importantly, he was ridiculously handsome.

To a young woman in college, someone like him was impossible to ignore.

Unfortunately, she’d been raised with one principle drilled into her since childhood.

Marriage should always be between families of equal standing.

Not with a poor boy from a small town.

If Luca’s family had possessed even modest wealth, she might have fought for the relationship.

But his parents were ordinary working people who had spent decades saving enough to buy a small three-bedroom apartment in Ashford.

In a town like Ashford, that was already an impressive achievement.

Compared to her own family, however, who owned a successful company, the gap was undeniable.

When she mentioned Luca to her parents, they rejected the idea immediately.

Being practical by nature, she chose reason over emotion.

She buried those feelings and never contacted him while studying abroad, hoping time would erase everything.

What she never expected was that, only a few years later, he’d somehow become wealthy.

Like Amelia, she’d seen Daniel Mercer’s message in the alumni group saying Luca had bought property in Golden Water Bay.

At first, she’d dismissed it as an exaggeration.

Unlike many others, she understood exactly how difficult it was to climb the social ladder.

But seeing him today erased every doubt.

Just one glance at his outfit told her enough.

Everything he wore was worth well over a million.

Even among San Fierro’s elite young heirs, his appearance would stand out.

Those were the same families her father treated with great respect.

She still couldn’t believe he’d reached that level in only a few years.

Even so, one thing was certain.

He was no longer the struggling young man she’d once known.

’If I chose him now... my parents probably wouldn’t object anymore.’

As those old feelings resurfaced, she found herself unable to ignore them.

"Luca," she said with a gentle smile, "have you eaten yet? If not, would you like to have dinner together?"

She had actually come to San Fierro Grand Hotel for a blind date arranged by her family.

At this moment, she’d completely forgotten about the man waiting upstairs.

If marriage was the goal, wasn’t Luca the better choice?

"I’m already done eating." Luca smiled politely. "Go ahead without me."

"Then... would you like to grab a drink instead?"

"I’m driving tonight, so I can’t. Don’t worry about me, Class rep."

He wasn’t actually driving, but it was the easiest excuse.

It wasn’t that he disliked Ivy.

Their values simply didn’t align.

She evaluated nearly every decision through the lens of benefit and practicality.

There was nothing inherently wrong with that.

It just wasn’t how he wanted to live.

After being turned down twice, she understood his answer.

She didn’t press the issue.

Just as she was about to change the subject, two stunning women approached, walking side by side.

The instant Ivy saw Naomi, a sense of crisis quietly settled in her chest.

She was breathtaking.

Not only was her face exceptionally beautiful, but her graceful figure only made her stand out more. She possessed the kind of beauty that almost didn’t seem real.

Even Ivy had to admit she was prettier than herself.

As for the woman beside her, she was every bit as beautiful.

Daniel’s words suddenly echoed in Ivy’s mind.

’Luca has an incredibly beautiful girlfriend.’

Could it really be her?

As Naomi drew closer, Ivy unconsciously tightened her grip on the hem of her dress.

Coming up behind Luca, Naomi lightly tapped his shoulder before smiling sweetly.

"Honey, shall we go?"

Recognizing her voice immediately, he turned around and naturally took her soft hand into his own.

Looking straight into her bright eyes, his expression softened without him even realizing it.

"Yeah," he said gently. "Let’s go home."

Anyone watching could feel the warmth between them.

The affection in Luca’s eyes was impossible to hide.

Even Raven, standing nearby, felt as though pink hearts were floating around the pair.

’A playboy... can actually look this devoted?’

Only Ivy’s expression changed.

Although she’d prepared herself mentally, reality still hit harder than expected.

A dull ache spread through her chest.

So...

This really was his girlfriend.

At that moment, every hopeful thought she’d entertained quietly fell apart.

If Luca had been dating an ordinary girl, she would have fought for him without hesitation.

Even if his girlfriend were someone as attractive as herself, Ivy believed she still stood a chance.

But Naomi...

For the first time in years, she felt inferior.

More importantly, the way Luca looked at her wasn’t something that could be imitated.

It was sincere.

Faced with that kind of affection, Ivy couldn’t help wondering...

’How was I ever supposed to compete with this?’
