Infinite Cashback: My God-Tier Cashback System
Chapter 201: An Odd EncounterThe following morning, the shrill ringing of his phone dragged Luca out of a deep sleep.
He frowned, reached blindly across the bedside table, and finally grabbed the device before it could ring again.
"Hey, bro! I’m almost here. When are you coming to pick me up?"
The familiar, cheerful voice instantly chased away most of his grogginess.
He blinked several times before sitting upright.
"Huh? You’re arriving today?"
There was a brief silence before Trish laughed.
"Yeah. I texted you last night. Don’t tell me you never checked your phone."
Luca unlocked the screen and immediately spotted the unread message sitting near the top of his notifications.
"...I completely missed it."
Thinking back to the previous evening, he couldn’t exactly blame anyone but himself.
After getting home, he and Naomi had become completely absorbed in each other’s company. By the time the bedroom’s door was locked, neither of them had the energy to think about phones, messages, or anything remotely related to the outside world. The moment their heads touched the pillows afterward, sleep claimed them almost instantly.
"I’m leaving now," he said while swinging his legs over the side of the bed. "Just wait for me at the station."
"Got it. Don’t keep your adorable little sister waiting."
"I’ll be there soon."
After confirming which exit she’d be waiting at, he ended the call.
There wasn’t much time to waste.
He quickly changed into a fresh outfit, washed his face, brushed his teeth, and ran a hand through his slightly messy hair before glancing toward the bed.
Naomi remained curled up beneath the blanket, breathing softly.
A few strands of dark blue hair rested across her face as the morning sunlight spilled through the curtains, giving the room a peaceful warmth.
Even asleep, she looked absolutely exhausted.
Luca couldn’t help smiling.
Last night had apparently been a little too much for her.
Carefully, he leaned down and brushed a gentle kiss against her cheek.
She stirred ever so slightly, murmured something under her breath, and instinctively buried herself deeper beneath the blanket.
Her eyes never opened.
He chuckled under his breath.
’She’s completely knocked out.’
Thankfully, Naomi worked as a streamer and wasn’t tied to a strict nine-to-five schedule.
If she had to wake up early every morning for work...
Well...
He honestly wasn’t sure she’d survive his rather passionate affection.
Quietly closing the bedroom door behind him, Luca headed downstairs.
...
Since Trish was traveling alone and there wasn’t much luggage to carry, he decided to borrow Vivienne’s Ferrari 599 instead of driving one of the larger cars.
Moments later, the bright red supercar roared to life.
Its engine echoed through the quiet neighborhood before the sleek vehicle rolled smoothly onto the main road.
As expected, it attracted attention almost immediately.
Pedestrians paused to admire it.
Drivers slowed slightly as it passed.
Several people couldn’t resist taking a second glance.
The Ferrari’s elegant curves and unmistakable engine note made it impossible to ignore.
Luca, however, barely noticed any of it.
His attention stayed on the road as he made his way toward the high-speed rail station.
By the time he arrived, the station had already become a sea of moving people.
Travelers hurried in every direction.
Announcements echoed overhead while rolling suitcases rattled across the polished floors. Families gathered near entrances, children chased one another between waiting seats, and passengers lined up patiently for departing trains.
After parking the Ferrari, Luca stepped inside the spacious waiting hall and began scanning the crowd.
Finding someone in such a busy station wasn’t exactly easy.
Fortunately...
He wasn’t the only one searching.
...
Not too far away, Trish stood beside her suitcase.
She had already rejected three different people asking for her contact information since arriving.
The latest one had been particularly persistent, refusing to leave until she politely turned him down for the third time.
Thankfully, he finally got the hint.
Just as she let out a small sigh of relief, her eyes wandered across the bustling hall.
Then she spotted a familiar figure.
Even from a distance, Luca stood out effortlessly.
His hair looked like he’d only managed to brush it once before rushing out, and his clothes were noticeably more casual than usual.
Yet somehow...
That only made him look even more approachable.
Women walking past couldn’t help sneaking glances his way.
Some whispered to their friends.
Others openly admired him before continuing on.
One particularly bold young woman even slowed her pace, smiled brightly, and attempted to start a conversation.
Luca politely smiled, apologized, and continued searching for his sister without stopping.
Watching the entire interaction unfold, Trish couldn’t help smiling.
’As expected.’
’My brother’s popularity hasn’t dropped at all.’
Then...
Her smile slowly disappeared.
The man she’d rejected only minutes ago suddenly changed direction.
Instead of approaching another woman...
He walked straight toward Luca.
Trish blinked.
’Surely...’
The man stopped in front of him, looking slightly nervous but visibly excited.
"Handsome... can I have your contact information?"
Silence.
For several long seconds, Trish simply stared.
Her thoughts came to a complete stop.
Women asking for Luca’s number?
Perfectly understandable.
She’d seen it happen countless times.
But...
A man?
Not only that...
The exact same man who had just tried getting her number?
She suddenly felt like her understanding of the world had shattered.
Growing up in Ashford, she’d always imagined San Fierro was simply a larger, wealthier city.
More opportunities.
More people.
More excitement.
Apparently...
It was also a lot more... open-minded than she’d expected.
Meanwhile, Luca stared blankly at the stranger standing before him.
His brain refused to process what he’d just heard.
Seeing no response, the man awkwardly smiled and repeated himself.
"Could I get your number?"
Only then did reality sink in.
The man wasn’t asking for directions.
He wasn’t mistaken.
He was genuinely flirting with him.
Luca’s expression went through several emotions in rapid succession.
Confusion, disbelief, then pure horror.
’Do I seriously look like someone who’s into men?’
Before the uncomfortable silence stretched any further, another arm suddenly wrapped itself around his.
"Brother~"
Trish appeared beside him with a bright smile, hugging his arm naturally.
"You’re so slow."
She looked up at him as though she’d been waiting forever.
"Someone tried asking for my number earlier, and you didn’t even notice."
Luca immediately caught on to what she was doing.
A helpless smile appeared on his face.
"Funny enough..."
"Your brother got hit on too."
"I know."
Barely holding back her laughter, Trish turned toward the embarrassed man.
"Right, sir?"
The color drained from his face.
He looked from Trish...
To Luca...
Then back again.
Realization hit him like a truck.
"I... I’m terribly sorry."
He bowed his head repeatedly.
"I didn’t mean to bother either of you."
Without waiting for forgiveness, he turned around and hurried into the crowd so quickly that he nearly bumped into another traveler.
Within seconds, he had completely disappeared.
Luca watched him leave before slowly letting out a breath.
"...That was unexpected."
Trish finally burst into laughter.
"You should’ve seen your face."
"I hope I never experience that again."
She laughed even harder.
Still, Luca quickly put the strange encounter behind him.
Everyone had their own preferences.
It simply wasn’t something he needed to think about.
Because there was one thing he was absolutely certain of.
He definitely wasn’t interested in men.
Picking up Trish’s suitcase, he started walking toward the exit.
"So..."
He glanced sideways at her.
"Why didn’t Rachel come with you?"
Trish puffed out her cheeks dramatically.
"Bro."
She narrowed her eyes with exaggerated suspicion.
"Don’t think you can fool me."
"I’m not asking anything."
"Oh?"
She grinned.
"You’re not asking about Rachel."
She deliberately emphasized the next words.
"You’re asking about Sophie."
Luca immediately coughed.
"Ahem..."
His little sister really had become frighteningly observant.
Thankfully...
She still hadn’t pieced together the full picture.
Otherwise, explaining everything would become a genuine headache.
...
The siblings soon reached the parking lot.
The moment Trish laid eyes on the gleaming Ferrari waiting beneath the morning sun, her eyes sparkled.
"Brother!"
She hurried over almost excitedly.
"Is this your car?"
Without waiting for an answer, she circled the Ferrari once, admiring every curve and detail.
This was the first time she’d ever stood this close to a genuine supercar.
Its glossy red paint reflected the sunlight beautifully, making the entire vehicle look like a work of art.
She leaned slightly toward the open window, took a deep sniff, then suddenly straightened.
"Nope."
She folded her arms confidently.
"This isn’t yours."
Luca raised an eyebrow.
"Oh?"
"And what gave it away?"
"It smells too nice."
He blinked.
"...Excuse me?"
She nodded seriously.
"A man’s car doesn’t smell like expensive perfume."
Then she broke into a mischievous grin.
Naomi already drove a Porsche.
Now there was a Ferrari.
There was only one conclusion.
This car obviously belonged to another beautiful woman.
’Sister Sophie.’
’Sister Naomi.’
’Now this one.’
She silently counted on her fingers.
’At this rate... there might even be another sister I haven’t met yet.’
Her admiration only grew.
’My brother’s unbelievable.’
’Doesn’t he worry they’ll all find out one day?’
’That would be a disaster.’
Seeing the increasingly suspicious look on her face, Luca could already guess what ridiculous conclusions she was drawing.
At this point...
Trying to hide it felt completely pointless.
He simply started the engine.
"We’ll head home first and drop off your luggage."
Trish nodded.
"After that?"
"We’re stopping by Vivienne’s place."
"For lunch?"
"For a free meal."
She giggled.
"So this Ferrari belongs to Sister Vivienne?"
"Mhm."
She turned toward him, curiosity shining in her eyes.
"And the two of you are...?"
Luca didn’t hesitate.
"Don’t ask."
A brief silence followed.
Then, with complete seriousness, he added,
"The answer is yes."
He shifted the car into gear.
"We’re together."
Trish stared at him for a second before bursting into delighted laughter as the Ferrari smoothly pulled out of the parking lot and disappeared into the morning traffic.
