Victor looked at Diana, who stood quietly before him. For a moment, the chaos of world, the countless demons he had slaughtered, and the terrifying enemies he had faced all seemed to disappear from his mind. There was only her. The woman he had nearly lost, the woman whose absence had shaken him more deeply than he was willing to admit.
He slowly walked toward her, his expression unusually gentle. A ring appeared in his hand, formed from precious cosmic materials and refined with his own power. When he was only a meter away from Diana, Victor lowered himself onto one knee and extended the ring toward her, his eyes filled with sincerity.
"Diana Morningstar, will you marry me?"
His voice was soft, almost cautious. Victor had faced enemies capable of destroying worlds without hesitation, yet at this moment, his heart was beating harder than it had during any battle. He did not want to be separated from Diana again. After everything that had happened, he could no longer tolerate the thought of losing her.
Part of him blamed himself for trusting the Heavenly Demons. He had believed he could control the situation, believed his strength was enough to protect everyone important to him. But when Diana had been placed in danger, that confidence had cracked. Now that she was standing safely before him, Victor knew one thing with absolute certainty. He never wanted to let her walk out of his life again.
Diana had never expected a proposal immediately after Victor had wiped out millions of demons. Her mind was still struggling to process everything that had happened, yet the moment she saw him kneeling before her with that ring, an overwhelming happiness surged through her heart.
Her eyes instantly became moist.
She slowly extended her hand toward him, her lips trembling into the brightest smile Victor had seen from her in a long time.
"Yes. Yes, I want to marry you."
Her answer was simple, but it struck Victor’s heart harder than any attack ever could. A faint smile appeared on his face as he carefully slipped the ring onto her finger, sealing the promise he had just made before the entire universe.
This was how the future Cosmic Ruler proposed to the woman he loved. There were no extravagant rituals, no mountains of treasures, and no grand ceremony. Just a man kneeling before the woman he cherished, offering her his heart in the simplest yet most breathtaking manner.
But Diana had no idea that this intimate moment was being broadcast across Earth and the Elven Empire.
A gigantic projection of Victor and Diana had appeared above countless cities, allowing billions of people to witness their Supreme Ruler proposing to his beloved.
If Diana had rejected him, Victor’s dignity would probably have suffered an unprecedented blow.
Fortunately, that nightmare never happened.
Victor stood after placing the ring on her finger and immediately pulled Diana into his arms. He hugged her tightly, almost as though he needed to convince himself that she was truly there.
"I will never let anything happen to you again. Ever."
His voice was gentle, but Diana could feel the slight tremor hidden beneath those words. Victor had handled the Heavenly Demons flawlessly. He had stood before millions of enemies without fear, yet when it came to her, he was frightened.
Not for himself.
For her.
A sweet warmth spread through Diana’s heart. She tightened her arms around him and rested against his chest, feeling the emotions Victor had tried so hard to conceal.
"I will not leave you as long as I live," she whispered with a smile. "And I promise I will become stronger. I won’t remain your weak point. I will become someone who can stand beside you and strengthen you."
"Mm-hmm."
Victor nodded seriously, though the faint smile on his lips betrayed how pleased he was.
Across Earth, cheers erupted from countless cities. The Elven Empire was no different. Christopher had already announced that the Elven Race would become a God Race alongside humanity, and everyone understood that Victor was the supreme ruler standing above them all.
Sofia watched the enormous projection with a complicated expression.
"Junior Brother... I mean, His Majesty Victor is really romantic," she muttered.
Yet the moment she said it, she suddenly felt a strange sourness in her mouth.
She could not forget how the Demons had treated humanity after learning about Victor’s situation. Their attitude had changed almost instantly, becoming cold and hostile toward the humans and severing their promises.
Even though the Elven Race and humanity were now moving toward integration, and Sofia herself was going to become the disciple of an elder from a God Race, she understood one undeniable fact.
Almost all the true power was ultimately concentrated in Victor’s hands and her race lost the opportunity they were given before to forge a relationship with the humans.
Meanwhile, Victor contacted his master.
"Master, after we relocate to the God Realm, prepare for my wedding ceremony. Every race, whether great or small, will be invited. I want the entire Universe to witness it."
Christopher’s eyes flickered with surprise before he laughed.
"Alright. Don’t worry. Everything will be handled perfectly."
Victor nodded.
"Diana, go and meet your family. I’ll meet mine as well. After that, I’ll accompany them to formally propose to your family."
Diana’s cheeks became slightly warm. She nodded shyly before leaving.
The instant she disappeared from sight, however, a mischievous smile slowly appeared on Victor’s face.
"Let’s create a dual cultivation technique. That way, she won’t fall behind me in cultivation."
"Ehmm. I’d like to pretend I never heard that."
"You shouldn’t have really heard that."
Astrion wisely remained silent.
Victor then focused on the task before him. He began constructing the cultivation technique personally, analyzing every possible detail and carefully refining every aspect. He wanted to ensure that Diana would receive the greatest possible benefits from cultivating it.
He wasn’t merely creating a technique.
He was creating something specifically for her.
Something capable of helping her grow alongside him rather than endlessly watching his back disappear into the distance.
.....
In the core of the universe,
"He’s getting married already? If he has a Dao Partner, she will inevitably become entangled in his chaotic destiny as well."
A heavy silence followed.
"Should we inform him? If we remain silent and he learns the truth later, he may blame us for failing to warn him."
The leader’s expression became grim.
"Yes. Send an Immortal to him. He must know everything before making his decision."
The ancient entity paused.
"The apocalypse is very, very near."
At the same moment, Victor looked at the completed cultivation technique and nodded with satisfaction. Every detail had been calculated, every flaw corrected, and every possible benefit maximized.
He was finally satisfied.
Then Victor vanished.
.....
Far away, in the deepest region of the Chaos Sea, an ancient voice suddenly echoed through the endless darkness.
"An anomaly has appeared in a low-tier universe within the Chaos Sea. Find it and destroy him along with that universe. If he ever enters the Chaos Sea, he could become a tremendous threat to us."
Another ancient presence immediately responded with reverence.
"As you wish, Master."
.....
Victor appeared outside the enormous residence where his family lived.
His father.
His mother.
His sister.
Because of the endless events surrounding him, Victor had barely found time to spend with them. One crisis had followed another, and every time he thought he could finally return home, something even greater had appeared before him.
His current residence was an enormous palace surrounded by countless powerful soldiers. The moment the guards noticed Victor standing before the gates, they immediately straightened and bowed deeply.
"Welcome, Your Majesty."
Victor nodded and casually waved his hand.
Several precious cosmic resources appeared before the guards.
"You’ve worked hard."
The soldiers immediately became excited and respectfully accepted the rewards.
Victor then walked through the palace gates.
Inside, everything was surprisingly peaceful.
His sister was training inside the cultivation room. His mother was in the kitchen preparing food, while his father was tending to the garden as though the universe outside had never descended into chaos.
Victor stopped for a moment.
Looking at that peaceful scene, something softened deep within his heart.
The Heavenly Demons had attacked Earth, but they had deliberately avoided his family.
They simply had not possessed enough time to attack his residence. More importantly, they had received strict orders not to harm Victor’s family unless the situation became truly dangerous.
There had always been a possibility that Victor might become one of the Heavenly Demons.
If that had happened, attacking his family would have been equivalent to provoking him directly.
And even if the situation had deteriorated, the Heavenly Demons knew Victor possessed a terrifying contracted beast.
So, for once, his family had been spared from the bloodshed surrounding him.
Victor stood quietly at the entrance, looking at the people he had been too busy to visit.
He entered through the door and went to meet his mother first.
