Inside the reception room, Zhang Wenda took deep breaths, trying his best to calm himself down.
He knew these feelings weren’t right, but sometimes, when certain things happened, he really couldn’t control himself.
Seeing this, Ding Xiaojin, who was standing nearby, thoughtfully got a cup of water from the cooler and handed it to him.
She looked at Zhang Wenda’s slightly pained expression and, seeming to understand something, said perceptively, "Seeing you like this, there must be something about you that isn’t quite like an ordinary person, right? Did you come to see me this time to get rid of that abnormality?"
Zhang Wenda set down the cup of water and looked at her, shaking his head firmly. "No, but thank you. I don’t need that anymore."
"Oh, don’t be shy. It’s not something to be embarrassed about. Not long ago, Director Tan told me about a kid who wanted to remove the influence of his innate nature. He even had us make preparations, but for some reason, the kid never showed up."
Hearing this, Zhang Wenda froze. He was surprised to find that her words suddenly connected everything.
’The kid she’s talking about must be me, back during Thought Wave One. At the time, I was trying to find a way to get rid of this monster body. I never expected it to be related to Tri-Core Energy.’
’So my extreme stress reactions are tied to my monster body.’
Realizing this, Zhang Wenda was now even more determined not to remove his overgrown Red Core.
’My monster body is my greatest source of strength right now. If removing the Red Core means I’ll lose the monster’s scythe and reaction speed, then how can I get my revenge?’
"Thank you for clearing that up. You’ve helped me understand things I never had time to look into before. As for your offer of help, I really don’t need it," Zhang Wenda said, standing up directly.
"I only came here today to ask one thing. If I just leave my condition as it is, are there any major side effects, besides having nightmares?"
"If you feel this abnormality doesn’t affect your life, then there are no side effects."
Hearing her say that, Zhang Wenda was ready to leave. As long as it wouldn’t interfere with his revenge in the short term, everything else could be put on the back burner.
’My primary goal is revenge. What happens after is a problem for the future.’
But just as he pushed the door open, with one foot about to cross the threshold, he suddenly thought of something. He turned his head back to look at that computer head.
"Oh, right. There’s something I’ve been meaning to look into within Bureau 507, but I’ve never had the time to ask. Since I’m here anyway, could you answer another question for me?"
She tilted her head and replied in a soft voice, "Of course. We’re all on the same team here, no need to be so formal. Just ask."
"If I want to get stronger right now, what are the specific ways to do it?" Zhang Wenda asked the question that had been on his mind the most.
Ding Xiaojin looked troubled. She seemed to run a quick calculation before looking up at Zhang Wenda. "That question is too broad. How much stronger do you want to become? The Bureau has many methods for advancement, each with its own pros and cons. It would be best if you gave me a reference point for comparison so I can give you a more precise answer."
"Qianxi!" Zhang Wenda spat the name out, his voice as sharp as steel. "Strong enough to surpass Qianxi!"
"Qianxi..." Ding Xiaojin fell silent for a moment. Clearly, she hadn’t expected him to say that.
Seeing her expression turn serious, Zhang Wenda shut the door and sat back down. He asked with a knot of apprehension in his stomach, "Well? Is there a way?"
"There is." Her word made Zhang Wenda’s eyes light up. He then saw her reach out again and point to the Third Line on his arm.
"If you truly want to surpass Qianxi, then I suggest you start with the Tri-Core."
Zhang Wenda scoffed at her words. "You’re pulling my leg. It’s not like I don’t know the upper limits of the Tri-Core’s power. If the Tri-Core was really so useful, why did you let Qianxi escape back in the Internet World?"
"You’ve misunderstood. I’m not telling you to use an emitter to access the Tri-Core’s power." She pulled out an emitter that looked exactly like a flashlight and showed it to Zhang Wenda.
"The emitter has its limits. If you truly want to be stronger than Qianxi, then you need to throw away this crutch and find your own way to completely unearth the power of the Tri-Core within you. As long as you can fully master the power of the Tri-Core, you will be stronger than Qianxi."
"Just by unearthing my own inner power, I can become stronger than Qianxi? Are you kidding me? That’s impossible. It defies logic."
Ding Xiaojin didn’t refute him directly. Instead, she walked over to a nearby window, pushed it open, and pointed a hand toward the inverted ocean outside. "Defies logic? Do you think our world is a logical one?"
After saying this, she continued, her tone complex, "It is precisely because our world is inherently illogical that the presence of us in the Third Line is required."
"Our mission is to continuously search for threads of order within these illogical worlds, allowing humanity to survive amidst all the absurdity."
Hearing this, Zhang Wenda was at a loss for how to respond.
"Is it logical that there is no death in Thought Wave One? Is it logical that there is so little joy in Thought Wave Two? Is it logical that the Internet World of Thought Wave 13 is constantly changing?"
After saying this, she looked at Zhang Wenda again. "Its existence is its own justification. Since all those things exist, why do you find the idea that every person’s body contains a power far greater than Qianxi’s to be so illogical?"
"Have you forgotten where Thought Waves come from?" Her question made Zhang Wenda freeze. ’What does this have to do with Thought Waves?’
"The rules of a Thought Wave can even shield one from death. Think about how powerful they are. And the very existence of Thought Waves comes from us humans. They are the physical manifestation of our own inner power."
At this, Ding Xiaojin sighed softly. "It’s just a shame that the vast majority of people simply go with the flow, living mindlessly within the Thought Waves of others, completely unaware of the immense power they hold within themselves."
"Only the strong who have truly and completely mastered their inner Tri-Core power earn the right to exist outside of others’ Thought Waves, and to fearlessly create their own."
"Qianxi is one of those powerful individuals who possesses his own Thought Wave. Furthermore, his research into his own Tri-Core surpasses even that of the Bureau’s R&D department."
At this, she looked at Zhang Wenda very seriously. "If you want to surpass him, you must gain complete control over your own Tri-Core and become an absolute powerhouse with a Thought Wave of your own. Only then will you be qualified to talk about surpassing him."
