Infinite Rebate: I Get Richer Every Time I Spend
Chapter 261: Business, Not PleasureLucas stared at the "Hey baby" message for a moment longer, then decided to reply. He wasn’t interested in her the way she hoped, but there was no reason to cut the conversation short just yet. Let her talk. Let her reveal more of herself. The more she tried, the easier she would be to handle later.
He typed.
Lucas:
Hey.
The reply came almost immediately.
Gracie:
Hey baby
You really shocked me earlier
200 million... just like that
Most guys don’t move like that
Lucas didn’t answer right away. He locked his phone, set it on the table, and took a sip of water. Only after a full minute did he pick it back up.
Lucas:
Okay.
Gracie:
You’re so dry lol
Are you always like this?
Or you’re just the quiet type?
Lucas:
Something like that.
Gracie:
I like quiet guys
They usually surprise you the most
You’ve been on my mind since you sent that
I keep checking the notification like it’s not real
She waited. When he didn’t flood her with compliments the way most men did, she pushed further.
Gracie:
You didn’t even ask for anything
That’s rare
Most men send money and start making demands immediately
You just... did it
Lucas:
Mm.
Gracie:
You’re really not going to talk to me properly?
After dropping that kind of money?
At least tell me what you like
I can be fun when I want to be
Still nothing soft from him.
Gracie stared at the chat, slightly irritated but more determined. She was used to men melting after the first few messages. This one stayed cold, and for some reason that only made her want to try harder.
Gracie:
You’re making me nervous
Usually by now someone would have asked for pictures already
You’re different
It’s kind of attractive
She paused, then decided to test him.
Gracie:
Would you like to see my...
She stopped typing, deleted the last word, and resent it more carefully.
Gracie:
Would you like to see more of me?
I can be generous too when someone treats me well
Lucas read the message and almost smiled. There it was. The same pattern. Soft at first, then the offer.
Lucas:
No need.
On the other side of the phone, Gracie blinked.
Gracie:
No need?
You sure?
Most guys would kill for that offer
I’m in a good mood because of you
I don’t mind showing some appreciation
Lucas:
I’m good.
Gracie:
Wow
You’re really going to reject me like that?
Not even a little curious?
I have a nice body, you know
The kind people pay just to look at
She sent another message right after.
Gracie:
I could turn the camera on
Or send something private
Just say the word
Lucas leaned back against the couch, still unimpressed. She was trying every angle now ~curiosity, ego, sexual offer ~ and none of it was landing the way she wanted.
Lucas:
I already said I’m good.
Gracie:
You’re so difficult
It’s kind of sexy though
Most men are easy
You’re making me work
She wasn’t giving up. If anything, his disinterest was pushing her to escalate.
Gracie:
Fine
Keep acting uninterested
But if you change your mind...
I can make it worth the 200 million
Properly
Lucas stared at the screen for a long moment.
The more she talked, the clearer the picture became. Behind the soft voice, the emotional livestream, and the carefully timed smiles, Gracie was exactly what he thought she was ~ a high-maintenance woman who had built her lifestyle on other people’s money. Attention, gifts, transfers, "support." That was how she survived. That was how she maintained everything.
He finally typed.
Lucas:
I have a demand.
Lucas stared at the chat for a second, then typed.
Lucas:
I want to meet in person.
On the other side of the screen, Gracie’s expression shifted the moment she read the message. She had seen this line too many times. Different men, same intention.
They always started with money, then compliments, then the request to meet. And once they met, the conversation usually stopped being about "support."
She exhaled slowly and typed back with careful sweetness.
Gracie:
That’s interesting
But I’d like us to know each other a little better first
I don’t rush things like that
Lucas smiled the moment the reply came in.
Of course.
"Know each other better" was just polished language for keep sending money while I stall. He had already watched her run that script on other people. Given enough time, she would drain a man’s patience and his account before ever agreeing to anything real.
Lucas:
That’s not what I meant.
I want to discuss business.
There was a short pause.
Then a longer one.
Gracie:
Business?
What kind of business?
She sat up straighter on the bed, suddenly less relaxed. The soft flirting tone in her head stumbled. Most men did not jump from 200 million to "business" this fast.
Usually they asked for pictures, a call, or a private meeting with very different intentions.
Lucas:
That’s why I want to meet.
Some things are better discussed face to face.
Gracie:
You’re being very serious all this while
What business could we possibly have?
Lucas:
You’ll understand when we talk.
Unless you’d rather keep guessing over text.
Gracie bit her lip, staring at the screen. Curiosity was starting to mix with caution. A Level 50 who dropped 200 million without begging for attention was already unusual.
Now he was talking about business instead of trying to sleep with her. That combination made her uneasy and interested at the same time.
Gracie:
Fine
But if we’re meeting, it has to be somewhere public
I’m staying at an Airbnb
There’s a lounge downstairs
We can talk there
She added another message quickly.
Gracie:
Just so we’re clear...
I don’t deal well with weird fans
If you try anything strange, I’m leaving.
Lucas read the last line and almost laughed.
She was still trying to control the terms even while agreeing.
Lucas:
Lounge is fine.
I don’t need privacy for this conversation.
Gracie read that reply twice.
No argument.
No attempt to push for her room.
No suggestive comment.
For the first time since the live ended, she felt like she wasn’t the one leading the interaction. And that, more than anything else, made her want to know exactly who she was about to meet.
She stared at the chat for a few more seconds, thumb hovering over the keyboard. Curiosity was already stronger than caution. He had stayed calm, spent heavily, refused her usual offers, and still only asked for a public meeting. That combination was rare enough to make her interested.
Hoping he wasn’t one of the weird ones, she finally typed the address and sent it ~ just as quickly as she had sent her account details earlier.
