infinite Rebate System: 10x Rewards for Conquering And Taming Heroines
Chapter 35: A Chance EncounterJason felt a quiet rush of satisfaction when the system notification landed.
Nice.
He had dropped twenty thousand on sessions and still walked away with an extra five grand in pure profit. The system really knew how to take care of its host.
He finished the payment and turned to leave.
"Wait!"
Elena came jogging after him, slightly out of breath. Her face was flushed, a light sheen of sweat on her forehead, chest rising and falling under the tight white camisole.
Jason stopped and looked at her with an easy smile.
"Something wrong?"
Elena’s cheeks darkened another shade. She shifted her weight, clearly a little embarrassed.
"I just... wanted to thank you. For today. If you hadn’t stepped in, I don’t know how far those two would’ve gone."
Jason studied her more carefully this time. The longer he looked, the more familiar she felt. Something about the shape of her eyes, the soft curve of her mouth...
Then it clicked.
Elena Quinn... no. Elena Hayes.
Wife of Tom Hayes. Olivia’s older brother.
Jason’s smile sharpened at the edges.
In his previous life, when he finally took Olivia to court, Tom had shown up with a handful of low-level thugs and tried to beat him into dropping the case. It hadn’t worked. Jason still pushed the lawsuit through.
Small fucking world.
He remembered more. Tom was a loud, uneducated piece of shit who used to run with a small crew back in the day. After marrying Elena he never really changed—he just brought the violence home. Whenever he got drunk or frustrated, Elena paid for it.
A beautiful, soft-bodied wife stuck with a man who hit her.
Jason’s eyes moved over Elena again, slower this time, taking in the full chest, the narrow waist, the thick thighs under the gray yoga pants. Interest settled low and heavy in his gut.
This just got a lot more entertaining.
"You’re welcome," he said, voice warm. "I can’t stand watching people get pushed around. Especially when the person being pushed around looks like you. Most guys would’ve done the same."
Elena’s gaze dropped. A quiet bitterness crossed her face.
"You’re the only one who thinks that. Most men... wouldn’t."
The words came out softer than she intended. The moment she realized how personal they sounded, she quickly changed the subject, clearly flustered.
"Anyway... you really didn’t need to buy that many sessions. I can train you privately for free if you want. You’re still in the refund window. You should get your money back—it’s too much."
She meant it. He had already done more than enough. Watching him spend that kind of cash on her behalf made her uneasy.
Jason shook his head, smiling in a way that was just a little too knowing.
"No need. Money’s not a problem." His voice dropped a fraction. "But if you’re offering private lessons on top of the ones I already bought... I’m definitely interested. Looking forward to it, actually."
He let his eyes travel over her once more, open and appreciative.
"A woman who looks like you? I’ve never seen anyone close. Whoever married you is one lucky bastard. Almost makes a guy jealous."
Elena’s face went crimson. She stared at the floor, lips pressed together, completely unable to answer. Her heart was beating too fast, and the worst part was that his words actually felt good. Better than they should have.
After a long pause, Elena finally spoke, voice quiet and a little unsteady.
"Then... let’s exchange numbers. You bought so many sessions with me, and you’re putting that much trust in me. I’ll make sure I teach you properly."
In her head the thought was clearer and heavier: *I have to repay him somehow.* He had stepped in when no one else would. Letting that debt sit felt wrong.
Jason nodded, already pulling his phone out.
"Alright. I’ve got something else to handle today. When I’m free I’ll text you ahead of time."
They swapped numbers. Jason gave her one last easy smile, then turned and walked out of the gym without looking back.
*Too much pressure too fast kills the tension.*
Plant the seed, then step away. Let her mind do the rest of the work.
Elena stood there watching his back until the glass doors closed behind him. Gratitude sat warm in her chest, mixed with something softer and more dangerous that she didn’t have a name for yet. She had never really been in love. She didn’t know what that flutter was supposed to feel like.
Her life had never left room for it. She grew up in a poor household that only valued sons. Three daughters and one boy. From the time she was little, the hard work fell on the girls while the brother got every advantage. She had the grades for university. Her family still refused to spend a cent on her education and poured everything into the uneducated son instead. Scholarships and student loans were the only reason she made it through.
Then, right before graduation, they sold her.
A bride price of a hundred and fifty thousand. Handed over to Tom Hayes like she was livestock. That was the first time she met the man who would spend years hitting her whenever he felt like it.
She wiped at the corner of her eye before any tears could fall.
She had only met Jason today, but something about him already felt different. A quiet, almost shameful thought slipped through before she could stop it:
*If the man I ended up with had been someone like him...*
She didn’t finish the sentence, even in her own head.

Jason reached the private detective’s office a short while later. The place was dim, walls lined with old case photos and cheap blinds that cut the afternoon light into thin strips.
Detective Rivera stood as soon as he walked in, professional smile already in place.
"Mr. Carter. Right on time."
Jason nodded once. "I’m here for the photos."
Rivera opened a drawer, pulled out a thick manila envelope, and passed it over.
"Everything’s in there. We printed three sets."
Jason opened the envelope and flipped through the stack. Clear shots of Olivia and Professor Malcolm Whitlock—close, intimate, entering and leaving the same hotel on multiple nights. Hands on each other. Mouths too close. No room for clean explanations.
A slow, cold smile spread across Jason’s face.
*Got you.*
Olivia hadn’t started fucking the professor until after they broke up. That part almost didn’t matter. What mattered was the fifty thousand she had taken from him and refused to return. The money that might have kept his mother from that rooftop. That debt was never going to be forgiven.
He pulled out his card and handed it over.
"Remaining balance. Card’s fine."
Rivera processed it quickly, still smiling.
"Pleasure doing business. Anything else comes up, you know where to find us. We’re the best in the city for this kind of work."
"I’ll keep that in mind."
Jason turned and walked out.
Downstairs, in the relative quiet of the sidewalk, he unlocked his phone, scrolled to Olivia’s number, and hit call.
