Infinite Rebate System: Beautiful Women And Endless Returns
Chapter 66: The DeliveryXavier was at his desk at 8PM when he heard it.
Not a knock. Not a buzz from the intercom. Just a single quiet ping. The particular sound of something being set down outside his door and whoever set it down not waiting around to be acknowledged.
He looked up from his phone.
That’s not Mama Elizabeth, he thought. She knocks.
He got up and opened the door.
The corridor was empty.
But on the floor directly in front of his door sat a small package. Flat, rectangular, wrapped in plain dark material that wasn’t quite paper and wasn’t quite cloth. No postage. No return address. No delivery service markings of any kind.
Just his name.
Xavier Cole.
Written in clean, precise print that told him nothing about who had written it.
He looked both ways down the corridor.
Empty.
He picked it up and went back inside.
He set it on the desk and looked at it for a moment before opening it.
The system sent me a contact through a notification, he thought. Now something physical shows up at my door two days before the meeting. He turned it over in his hands. No sender. No trail. Just my name and a delivery timing that isn’t accidental.
He opened it.
Inside was a slim card. Embossed. Heavy stock. The kind of card that cost more than most people spent on a full meal.
HALE & ASSOCIATES
Private Financial Intelligence
Vincent Hale — Principal
Clean. Minimal. A number at the bottom that matched the one already in his phone.
He set the card aside.
Underneath it was the second item.
A USB drive. Small, matte black, unmarked except for a single engraved letter on one side.
V.
Xavier picked it up and turned it over.
What’s on this, he thought. Financial data. Case files. Something Vincent wanted me to have before Tuesday that he didn’t want to send digitally.
He looked at his laptop.
Or, he thought, something the system put here. Something that isn’t from Vincent at all.
He held the drive for a long moment.
He picked up the drive and crossed to his desk where his MacBook Pro sat open. The one he’d bought in the background during one of his city exploration days, clean aluminum, the screen still carrying that new device sharpness that hadn’t worn off yet.
He plugged the drive in.
One folder. No file name. Just a symbol he didn’t recognise. Geometric, precise, the kind of thing that looked designed rather than typed.
He opened it.
Inside — a single document. No title. Just text.
He read it.
It took him four minutes. He read it twice.
When he set the laptop down his coffee had gone cold without him noticing.
That’s what the second gift is, he thought.Because there’s no hell of a way that dude pinpointed my address I always made sure to take detours before coming home.
Not money. Not a contact. Not a weapon or a legal instrument or anything that operated in the ordinary world.
Information.
Specific, verified, detailed information about every significant financial player operating in Kenvale District and the three districts surrounding it. Their assets. Their vulnerabilities. Their relationships with each other. The gaps in their operations that someone with the right resources and the right system could step into without being seen until it was too late to stop them.
A map, Xavier thought. The system gave me a map.
He looked at the USB drive sitting beside his laptop.
Vincent Hale has been watching my financial activity for three months , he thought. Which means someone or something has been watching Vincent Hale for at least as long. He picked up the drive. And decided I should know what they found.
The system, he thought. It has to be. It has always been keen to protect me I guess.
But how, he thought. How does a system that lives in my head deliver a physical object to my doorstep.
He sat with that question for a long moment.
Don’t test it, he reminded himself. That was always the rule. Don’t test the edges of what’s possible. Just use what you’re given.
He saved the document to a secure folder on his laptop, removed the drive and held it in his palm.
$673,452 in the account, he thought. A financial crime investigator meeting on Tuesday. A map of every significant player in the district sitting on a drive no bigger than his thumb. He closed his hand around it.
The system isn’t just rewarding spending anymore, he thought. It’s pointing directions.
He looked at the Hale & Associates card on the desk.
Vincent Hale, he thought. Financial crime. Eight months of watching. A daughter in the A&R industry. He turned the card over. He reaches out the night after the festival. Package arrives two days before the meeting. He set the card down. He’s not the only one who’s been watching.
He opened his phone and checked his balance.
$673,452.
He sat back and looked at the ceiling for a moment.
Then his phone chimed.

5,000 EXP on completion, Xavier noted. 42,450 currently. Quest completion would put me at 47,450 out of 50,000. He looked at the number. That close to Tier 3 and the system drops an investment quest.
Almost like it planned this, he thought.
Almost.
Xavier looked at the notification for a long moment.
The system dropped a quest, he thought. Right now. Tonight. Two days before Tuesday. He looked at the USB drive beside his laptop. A map of every significant financial player in the district. A meeting with a so-called financial personnel. And now a $3,000,000 investment objective.
$3,000,000 in investments, he thought. From a man who started with $520.
He almost smiled.
The system really does know what’s coming before I do, he thought.
He closed the notification and opened the document again.
Two days, he thought. Let’s get to work.
He looked at the USB drive one more time.
The map tells me where to invest, he thought. Let’s see what we can get from our interaction with Vincent Hale, he thought. . He set the drive on the desk beside the card. And the system tells me when.
Everything pointing in the same direction, he thought.
Tuesday, he thought. Two days.
He made fresh coffee, sat back at his desk and opened the document again.
He had two days to memorise a map.
He got to work.
