Inner Voice: All Heroines Hear My Inner Voice

Chapter 1064: Aether has a very bad feeling

A little while ago.

To be precise, just before Eiji said that his future brother-in-law was already in town.

And before Dvalin’s black storm fully touched the rooftops, the atmosphere within Mondstadt’s city walls was suddenly gripped by an unnatural silence. The wind of freedom seemed to stop blowing, replaced by a thick, cold, and piercing chill.

"Dvalin... Is the Abyss Order manipulating you again?!" Barbatos or Venti was undoubtedly gazing at the sky in the distance.

His expression was grim; he didn’t hesitate to transform into the wind and fly straight toward the dragon heading for Mondstadt.

This time, he’ll try to stop his own friend before he reaches the city!

While the Anemo Archon finally stopped lazing around.

On the city’s main road leading uphill toward the Knights of Favonius headquarters, a dark purple spatial distortion suddenly tore open in the open air. From behind that dimensional rift, a young man with braided blond hair and an ancient explorer’s cloak stepped out calmly. Behind him, several cold-blooded Abyss Mages and Abyss Heralds escorted him, their weapons at the ready. Aether, Prince of the Abyss Order, had surprisingly infiltrated the city center.

"We have only one objective today." Aether said, his voice sounding extremely cold and flat. "Take Lumine with us to the Abyss. Eliminate anyone who dares to stand in our way."

That clearly never happened in the original work.

Thanks to someone (Eiji) who forced the leader of the Abyss to step in personally!

Eiji: Wait, this isn’t just my fault. Blame Aether too—he’s way too siscon!

Aether: I won’t let my sister fall into the hands of any man other than me!

[Host, you have a very vivid imagination.]

’Miss System, I imagined that conversation based on Aether’s personality in this world. I even asked Rasiel to calculate the percentage chance he’d say that.’

[You did that? Isn’t that a bit over the top?]

’I’ll do anything to entertain myself.’

Crazy.

That’s what Miss System thought about her host. Especially when she found out what he was planning for this plot.

You’re definitely going to be surprised.

*Sret!*

The sound of a sword being drawn rang out.

Before the Abyss troops could take another step, a man with an eye patch and a distinctive blue fur cloak suddenly leaped down from the tavern’s roof, blocking the main street right in the middle.

It was Kaeya.

"Now, now... paying a visit without knocking on the front gate is truly a very rude thing to do, gentlemen." Kaeya said, his signature laid-back smile fixed on his face even as his eyes flashed with intense vigilance. "Especially bringing the foul stench of the Abyss into this city of freedom. As captain of the knights, I’m afraid I must ask you to turn back."

He held his sword with one hand, channeling dense Cryo elemental energy until ice particles began to dance around his waist.

Aether didn’t even regard Kaeya as a threat. "Just a little fly from Favonius. Get lost."

Without waiting to be told twice, Kaeya darted forward at full speed, unleashing sharp, circular slashes of ice to freeze Aether’s path.

However, Aether moved far faster and more efficiently. With a casual wave of his hand, Aether unleashed a wave of purplish Abyss curse energy that instantly sliced through and shattered every one of Kaeya’s ice particles, vaporizing them into dust.

*BLAM!*

Before Kaeya could even pull his sword back, Aether had instantly shifted his position right in front of him. The Prince of the Abyss unleashed a blast of pure spatial shockwaves straight at Kaeya’s chest.

*BOOOM!!*

The incredibly massive energy collision instantly shattered all of Kaeya’s internal ice shields. The Cavalry Captain’s body was immediately hurled violently backward, slamming into the stone wall of the city building until it cracked before finally crashing hard onto the marble street.

"Cough!"

Kaeya coughed up a large amount of fresh blood; his breathing was heavy and labored, and his face had turned drastically pale. He tried to lean on his sword to get back to his feet, but the excruciating pain from his shattered internal organs forced him to fall back down and kneel on one severely injured leg.

His weapon slipped from his grasp, and he was completely unable to match Aether’s level of power.

"How pitiful." Aether sneered; he was about to step over Kaeya’s helpless body without so much as a glance, and order one of the Abyss creatures to kill him.

But before that—

"Fireball."

A detached yet somewhat magnetic voice rang out, uttering the name of a classic magic spell.

Fireball, as the name suggests, is a fire-elemental attack commonly used by mages. However, in Teyvat, this attack is also known as a Pyro-elemental attack!

And it’s quite powerful.

At least in the eyes of Aether, who was now watching a fireball the size of a house fall from the sky and hurtle toward him.

He hurriedly thrust one of his hands forward, creating a protective barrier of layered, dark purple curses to shield himself and his subordinates.

Kaeya was no exception, as he was right beside him.

*BLAAAAAMRRRRR!!!*

The massive impact triggered a tremendous explosion. Although Aether managed to withstand the direct hit using his Abyss shield, the air pressure and the ripples of erupting fire energy could not be dampened at all. The shockwave swept across the entire main street like a hurricane.

In the blink of an eye, a dozen Abyss Mages and Abyss Heralds standing behind Aether were instantly hurled high into the air; their armor and masks were scorched before they finally slammed into the city’s buildings and lost consciousness. Even Kaeya, who was kneeling, severely wounded not far from the blast path, was blown several meters away by the surge of hot wind, rolling across the marble pavement as his body grew increasingly limp.

Aether was pushed back a dozen steps, the soles of his shoes leaving deep gouges in the stone floor. The hem of his Abyss Order leader’s robe was slightly torn, and his hands trembled as he endured the lingering heat.

"Damn it... Damn it!!" He cursed, his eyes flashing with overflowing rage as he stared at the thick smoke slowly dissipating before him. "Who... who would dare unleash such a filthy attack?!"

The residents who had witnessed the scene had, of course, run away in panic. The Favonius Knights who weren’t busy fighting the Abyss creatures were also trying to help evacuate the residents.

Mondstadt was engulfed in chaos.

However, amidst the chaos.

*Tap. Tap. Tap.*

The sound of footsteps—extremely leisurely, rhythmic, and full of calm—suddenly echoed, cutting through the billowing smoke. A strikingly handsome man in a maroon cloak that fluttered gracefully stepped out.

It was Eiji, cosplaying as Dante, with his hair styled to resemble Aizen’s.

He was the one who had just cast a classic fire spell in such a dismissive manner. Eiji didn’t come alone. To his left and right, Jean walked with her sword drawn, exuding authority; Amber carried her bow with a sharp gaze; and Xianyun walked gracefully while adjusting her red glasses with the dignity of an Adeptus.

Barbara, who happened to run into them along the way, was also there; she wanted to help out as the group’s healer.

As for Lumine? She had been specifically asked to wait at the knights’ headquarters for the time being. Not for her safety, but because it was part of Eiji’s plan.

He even asked Lisa to stay with Lumine and Paimon. At first, Lumine was reluctant; she wanted to stop her older brother using her own power. But after Eiji persuaded her by saying, "This method will make your older brother think twice before attacking Mondstadt or other nations in the future. You’ll also need to say a few things while activating this device."

Eiji gave Lumine a device to record her own voice.

Lumine was confused, of course, but the things she had to say also made her feel embarrassed.

She wondered if Eiji was serious.

How could a method like this possibly be effective against Aether?

Even so, Lumine chose to trust Eiji under the strange stares of Paimon and Lisa.

"Brother-in-law... are you okay?" Eiji stopped a few meters away from Aether and deliberately emphasized the term of address. He chuckled softly before adding, "Sorry, the energy output I used in that classic fire spell attack seems to have been too high for you."

Hearing the words "brother-in-law" come out of Eiji’s mouth, Aether’s entire body suddenly stiffened and froze. His rage, which had been raging just a moment ago, was replaced by extreme confusion, mixed with a sense of unease creeping into his heart.

Jean, Amber, and Xianyun glanced at Eiji without saying a word.

This man... What exactly is he planning?

Why do I feel like he has bad intentions?

He’s clearly provoking the leader of the Abyss Order with his words!

"Brother-in-law? Eiji, who are you talking about!? I don’t have a brother-in-law like you!"

Aether retorted, his voice laced with irritation; he couldn’t help but have a terrible suspicion forming in his mind.

Considering how often Lumine had been traveling with Eiji in Liyue lately, plus the familiar term the man had just used... Aether’s expression instantly turned grim, and his face turned green.

At least in Eiji’s eyes.

’Don’t tell me... My sister, Lumine... has been doing adult things with Eiji!? Do they have that kind of relationship!?’

Aether staggered slightly, clutching his face with one hand.

In the eyes of Jean and the others, the leader of the Abyss Order lost his focus just because of Eiji’s words and suddenly became depressed.

"Hey, hey... Seriously? This is the first time I’ve seen someone inflict a mental attack on another person with just words."

Kaeya said weakly, glancing at Eiji with a mix of admiration and bewilderment. After all, he still remembered how he’d asked Eiji about Khaenri’ah’s technologies.

"By the way, please give me a warning before throwing a fireball that big next time. I would’ve been burned alive if it weren’t for the enemy’s barrier."

"Oh? Kaeya, you’re here too? Barbara, heal him."

Eiji feigned surprise when he saw a man lying not far from them. He ignored what he said and immediately gave Barbara an order.

Barbara didn’t refuse.

"Leave it to me. Sir Kaeya, I’ll treat you."

"Oh, thank you, Barbara."

Kaeya’s lips twitched.

Was it just his imagination, or had Eiji perhaps deliberately thrown his fireball without regard for his position?

Using the power of her Hydro (water) Vision, Barbara extended both her hands forward and released a spray of water that materialized in the air, splashing Kaeya’s face.

*Splash!*

"...." Kaeya was slightly drenched as a result.

However, along with the circle of melody surrounding Barbara, His wounds quickly began to show signs of healing.

Unlike Jean, who is a swordsman, Barbara is a healer—and the best among the other 4-star characters.

[Just as I’d expect from my future wife. Her talent for healing others is truly remarkable.]

[That’s amazing.]

"?" Jean wondered if Eiji...

Barbara blushed,

Eiji was talking about her, wasn’t he!?

"How dare you... How dare you seduce my sister, Eiji!" Aether roared, his rage erupting. As he stomped his foot on the marble street, he unleashed a massive wave of Abyss dark energy to rouse the dozen or so Abyss Mages and Abyss Heralds who had previously been knocked down.

"All of you, deal with the knights and the female Adeptus behind him! Don’t let them interfere!" He commanded his subordinates.

"Yes, Your Majesty!" The Abyss creatures that had just regained consciousness. With their remaining strength, they immediately unleashed Hydro, Pyro, and Electro elemental magic to charge toward Jean, Amber, and Xianyun.

Jean and the others didn’t just stand by, of course. They defended themselves and launched a counterattack.

Enveloped by an extremely fast spinning vortex of Anemo, Jean drew her sword and thrust it toward several Abyss Heralds.

Four members of the Abyss Order were instantly killed and hurled through the wall of the house. Her power had clearly surpassed her original form because, at this moment, she possessed the buff from the Master-Servant contract.

In Keaya and Barbara’s eyes, Jean was clearly incredibly powerful!

On the other side, Amber fired her arrows, enveloped in the Pyro element, and set her enemies ablaze. She was dodging more often and was having a bit of trouble defeating the monsters from the Abyss. Because of that, Jean needed to help her.

Xianyun, the most relaxed among them, gracefully dodged every attack and sent every Abyss monster around her flying with a wave of her hand. Like a mage, she unleashed a concentrated gust of wind capable of piercing the body and defenses of an Abyss Mage.

The power of an Adeptus like her was no less terrifying.

Eiji enjoyed watching those beautiful women fight so much that he neglected his own opponent.

"Eiji, you’d better tell me where Lumine is before I kill you!" Aether shouted with murderous intent and hatred toward Eiji.

From behind the ripples of the black dimension, he drew an ancient, ornate sword that radiated an intensely dense aura of darkness. With a single spatial leap, Aether shot forward like lightning, swinging his sword in a deadly vertical slash aimed at Eiji’s head.

Facing the fury of his future brother-in-law, Eiji’s expression didn’t waver a single millimeter from the composure he’d shown from the very beginning. "You’re being too hasty for a brother, Aether. What are you worried about?"

In a split second, he extended his right hand to the side, opening a slot in his system inventory. Out of thin air, he drew a beautiful silver katana-shaped Zanpakuto named Shirohime (White Princess).

It had been a long time since he last used it.

The moment the silver blade touched the open air, the entire atmosphere around them suddenly fell silent, radiating a pure chill.

*TINGGGG!*

A piercing metallic clang split the battlefield. Eiji blocked Aether’s sword strike using just one casual hand, without shifting the stance of his feet from the marble floor.

Aether didn’t stop. With eyes red with hatred, he spun his body like an acrobat and unleashed dozens of super-fast, crisscrossing slashes from all directions, targeting vital points on Eiji’s body.

However, all of Aether’s lightning-fast movements were meaningless in the face of Shirohime’s prowess. The silver katana in Eiji’s hand danced through the air at a super-high speed that transcended Teyvat’s concepts of space and time. Every time Aether’s sword nearly touched its owner’s clothing, Shirohime was always there to parry it with terrifying precision.

Of course, Eiji could do something like that using only his raw physical strength. But this time, he was using only his sword’s power and adjusting his own physical strength to match his opponent’s.

He did this just for a little fun.

*Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang!*

Sparks flew as they clashed with the fine, silvery-white ice crystals that began falling from Shirohime’s blade. Every time their swords clashed, the ice elemental power from Eiji’s Zanpakuto immediately spread and froze the remnants of the Abyss’s dark energy emitted by the Aether weapon.

Barbara, Kaeya, and Amber watched the battle unfold with horrified expressions.

The battle was clearly on a different level from any other.

"Why... why can you anticipate every one of my attacks?!" Aether complained, as both his arms began to feel stiff and numb from the extreme cold radiating from Shirohime’s slashes all around them.

He began to think that Eiji was a Cryo Vision user.

He didn’t know that the ice element was just one of her sword’s abilities.

Shirohime’s true specialty was high-speed slashes capable of tearing through space and time. But if Eiji used that, Aether would surely have been sliced to pieces and killed, and that wasn’t something he wanted.

So, Eiji decided to use Shirohime’s ice ability instead.

[Yukino: That sword in Eiji’s hand... It looks like a Zanpakuto, just like my Shirayuki.]

[Yuigahama Yui: Yukinon, I didn’t know you had a sword like that!]

[Yukino: Ahem! It’s been a long time since Eiji gave it to me. I rarely use it myself.]

The women in the chat group were actually watching the livestream of the battle, too.

Many of them were in awe and captivated by the sword skills their man were displaying.

One of them—

[Marika: Kyaaa! Eiji-sama, you’re so cool!]

There’s also Marika; she’s really excited watching Eiji fight and seeing just how handsome he is.

...

Yare-yare, thought Eiji.

"Why should I answer? You didn’t answer either when I asked if you were jealous that Lumine is now one of my women, Aether."

"W-What?"

As their swords clashed, Aether nearly lost her balance.

The man in front of him had a sharp tongue!

He was more afraid of what he said than of his combat prowess; his expression turned sour again.

"Nonsense!"

He denied it to maintain his image as one of the boss villains and the leader of the Abyss Order.

Eiji grinned and said, "By the way, Lumine is currently in one of the bedrooms at the Knights of Favonius dormitory. She couldn’t come here because she was exhausted after what she and I did last night."

"!!!"

Aether was once again hit by a mental attack; he stumbled backward and stared at Eiji with madness in his eyes.

"No way! Eiji, you must be lying! My sister isn’t some cheap woman! There’s no way she slept with you!"

"Hahahaha!"

Eiji laughed wickedly.

"...." Everyone around them—and even the women watching the livestream—fell silent.

They wondered which one of the two was actually the villain?

Why did they feel that the leader of the Abyss Order looked so pitiful?

"You don’t believe me? I can give you proof. But before that..."

Eiji decided to put an end to his future brother-in-law’s futile resistance. He pulled his silver katana back slightly, positioning the blade perpendicular to his face. The next second, he unleashed the hidden power of his Zanpakuto by uttering the release command for his Shikai.

"Freeze the entire universe, Shirohime."

*CRIIINGGG!*

In that very instant, an extraordinarily bright and pure silver glow erupted from the blade of Eiji’s katana. Massive amounts of ice spiritual energy surged out, causing an extreme drop in temperature throughout the main street of Mondstadt in just a matter of milliseconds.

The cold it emitted was so intense that it froze the air into beautiful yet deadly strands of snow crystals.

Aether, sensing this absurd surge of ice energy, immediately widened his eyes in horror. "What kind of ice power is this?! This isn’t from the same Vision as that woman (Tsaritsa) or Teyvat’s Cryo element—!"

He tried to leap backward instantly using Abyss spatial manipulation to save himself. But it was too late.

*CRACKKKK!*

Before Aether’s body could shift even a centimeter, the freezing aura from Shirohime’s Shikai release had already shot through the blade of his sword at lightning speed. In the blink of an eye, thick, translucent silver eternal ice instantly encased his ancient sword, spreading rapidly to lock his wrist, his arm, and finally freezing his entire body.

Aether froze completely mid-motion, turning into a silver ice statue standing rigidly on the marble street. The Abyss’s dark energy that had enveloped his body was now completely isolated and extinguished within Shirohime’s icy grip. He couldn’t move at all, couldn’t channel elemental energy, nor could he escape into a dimensional rift again.

Eiji casually lowered his katana again, gazing at Aether’s ice statue in front of him with a playful look.

Aether had a very bad feeling.

He didn’t sense any intent to kill from Eiji, but he knew Eiji didn’t have good intentions toward him!
