A small smile formed on Billie’s lips as she looked at the person behind the man.
It was Silas.
He looked different from before.
All features of his body seemed to have been meticulously crafted.
From his hair, to his eyes, to his body frame, to his well-toned muscles.
He knelt on one knee to touch her head.
"It’s okay now."
Those were the words he said before setting her back against the cold floor.
He stood from the floor, and with a single snap of his fingers, hundreds of blue ethereal beings began to pour out of a crack beside him.
Everyone on the battlefield looked back in horror.
Allies and enemies alike, they all stopped whatever they were doing.
Their gazes were turned towards the ethereal figures.
Then, among those ethereal figures, one soul walked towards Silas.
It was Levi, the person he had given the position of captain.
He bowed lightly and Silas nodded in confirmation.
He raised his rapier high above his head.
That was a declaration of war.
The army of souls lunged, bracing their weapons as they marched forward.
After a few seconds of shock, the enemies regained their senses.
To them, this was just a small addition to the students who were already losing.
An enemy’s sword sliced through one of the soul’s neck.
The sword passed through without resistance.
The soul’s chain lashed out, wrapping tightly around the attacker’s neck.
Then an explosion.
The chain tightened around the neck, bursting it into a mess of bones, blood, and gore.
That was when the shock grew.
Unlike the students who could die, these souls could not die, as long as their summoner supplied them with aether.
Silas looked at one of the souls specifically.
It was Marcel, the same guy who had fought Mira on the ceiling and almost killed her.
Marcel, even in his soul state, retained his skill, Body Double.
A copy of him appeared as he dashed through the room.
He swung his scythe at the enemy’s torso, and his clone pierced a dagger into the same enemy’s forehead.
Before the enemy could even register, his body and head were blown to pieces.
Without stopping, they continued, repeating the same tactics and killing flawlessly.
They never needed more than one attack to end their enemy.
Everything was executed with precision.
They moved like they were being controlled by the same mind.
’Why didn’t I get his ability instead of soul?’ Silas wondered.
Although it was but a fleeting thought.
He set it aside almost immediately.
"Congratulations on your advancement, Master Silas."
Silas’s focus was broken by the voice at his side.
Silas turned with a smile.
"Thanks for protecting me," he said to the person.
Asher bowed.
"I am only performing my duty."
Silas smiled, then turned back to the battlefield.
"I should stretch my body a little; take care of her while I do that."
Asher turned to Billie on the floor, then nodded.
Silas tore forward.
His body switched form with a single thought, his palm transforming into a blade.
He jumped over one of the stronger enemies, who had a sword.
The enemy caught sight of Silas and slashed upward with a grin.
Rip.
Like butter against a hot knife, the sword and the attacker’s neck were sliced alike.
Silas did not wait or linger; he turned to another enemy.
He pointed a finger at the enemy.
Bang.
A bullet of aether was let loose from the finger, piercing through the enemy’s head easily.
Silas jumped from enemy to enemy, killing them without giving them time to resist.
At one point, the other students had stopped fighting, simply letting The Butcher, as they had nicknamed Silas, kill the enemies.
And he did not fail them.
Silas’s body even left the floor at one point, moving with the fluidity of water.
His aether body passed through the pores of the enemies, tearing them apart from within before he moved to the next.
Such was the terror of a Monarch rank cultivator, the ability to control their body at will.
"Need a hand?" Silas asked with a smile as he landed in front of Amelia.
She was about to speak when Silas’s body split into two, both copies slicing through the enemies behind.
’Who knew I could even use Lilura’s skill on my own body,’ he mused with a smile.
"Congrats," Amelia said, pulling him in as her katana cut through an enemy behind Silas.
"Thanks," Silas replied before swooping upward.
His body was temporarily like a drifting mass of gas, only reforming when he reached the top.
His eyes swept through the battlefield, then he launched downward again.
He joined both arms together, solidifying them into a single, super massive hammer.
He swung down, destroying tens of enemies in a single strike.
"Wowww!" Sylvester exclaimed as he saw Silas’s form.
Silas touched his hair.
"Just say it, I look cool."
Sylvester dropped his head.
"You had to ruin the shock."
Silas only saluted as he flew away.
"Congratulations by the way," Sylvester yelled behind him.
Silas did not look back.
Blood spluttered into the sky as a body was split in two.
Eric and Eren, the Voss twins, looked at the person who had killed their enemy.
They almost collapsed as they looked at him.
The person they had challenged to a match days ago, the rank 1 of the Orion Sector, Silas Lancaster.
He had butchered a Marshal rank cultivator like he was killing a chicken.
But that was not the cause of their shock.
The aura he exuded, the undisputed aura of a Monarch stage that they had felt countless times in their mansion.
The shock came from the fact that Silas was able to reach this stage so fast, even though they had all awakened at the same time.
"Well, you are welcome," Silas said, seeing the frozen twins.
Meanwhile, outside the spaceship, Levi’s astral projection looked at the students with calm.
He did not interfere, nor did he show himself.
After destroying the enemy spaceship a few hours ago, Levi had told him to observe the students, but avoid helping them.
Even if it cost the students their lives.
The battle was drawing to a close; the clone could see it.
With the final enemy falling, he shot through the void like a white comet.
