Chapter 695: Chapter 688: Intimidation

CRACK! CRACK!!

A thick, black, viscous fluid secreted from Zhou Yuanjue’s skin, rapidly solidifying into carapace-like armor.

’This is...’

Nainte watched the changes to Zhou Yuanjue’s body, his expression slightly bewildered. Then, as if in a flash of understanding, his heart leaped.

’Impossible, right? This has to be a joke.’

Nainte couldn’t help but swallow hard, still clinging to a sliver of wishful thinking.

Once his body was completely covered by the carapace, Zhou Yuanjue glanced at Nainte. He then turned and walked slowly toward the Aircraft Carrier stationed behind him.

Nainte stared fixedly at Zhou Yuanjue’s back without blinking, waiting to see what he would do.

Soon, Zhou Yuanjue reached the Aircraft Carrier. He slowly extended his hand and placed his palm on the ship’s chillingly cold, black exterior.

HUMMM!!

Energy flooded into the carapace covering his body, fully activating the cells within.

Under the infusion of Power, the fundamental life structure belonging to Nainte began to operate.

And this was the key to unlocking the Aircraft Carrier’s access permissions.

As Nainte watched with a look of utter horror, a fissure split open on the Aircraft Carrier’s carapace. Pinkish-red muscle squirmed within, prying the fissure wider and forming a writhing seam of flesh.

Zhou Yuanjue took a step forward. The fleshy seam slowly widened, and the writhing tissue gradually swallowed him whole.

Then, the fissure in the carapace slowly sealed, returning to its original smooth, seamless state.

F@$#!&*!!

Seeing this, Nainte could finally bear it no longer. Standing to the side, Zhou Ji could clearly sense the True Realm Life abandon telepathic communication and resort to the most primitive physical method—vibrating its vocal cords—to unleash a stream of bizarre, unintelligible syllables.

’Hmm... Some kind of profanity from an alien civilization?’

A faint smile touched Zhou Ji’s otherwise perfect, expressionless face.

’It seems this alien lifeform has truly been pushed to his breaking point...’

After his string of primal expletives, Nainte once again stared intently at the Aircraft Carrier, as if still clinging to some shred of hope.

’He may have permission to enter, but piloting the Aircraft Carrier isn’t easy. You can’t do it with just access rights...’

HUMMM!!

The next moment, the entire Aircraft Carrier began to vibrate. A powerful force silently radiated outwards, sending concentric waves of air sweeping across the landing field.

Finally, under the effect of that terrifying Power, the entire Aircraft Carrier slowly levitated off the ground.

RRRIIIP!!

The void before them was suddenly torn open, revealing a passage connecting the material world to the True Realm. The entire Aircraft Carrier abruptly shot forward to Shuttle through, disappearing into the passage and into the True Realm.

’He doesn’t just have permission to board the Aircraft Carrier... he can actually pilot it by himself and navigate the True Realm...’

’How is this possible? How in the world did he do that? It makes no sense!!’

’What the hell is with the lifeforms on this planet?!’

A frantic scream echoed in his mind, driving him to the verge of madness.

’This was supposed to be a simple guidance mission for a Low level Civilization.’

’It should have been a relaxing, pleasant vacation.’

’So why did I have to run into something like this? Run into a monster like him?!’

For a moment, Nainte’s heart filled with despair.

He seriously suspected that fate itself was out to get him.

WHOOSH!!

About three minutes later, another True Realm fissure tore open in the center of the landing field. The massive form of the Aircraft Carrier slowly emerged and landed smoothly on the ground.

CRACK!!

The Aircraft Carrier’s hull cracked open. Amidst the writhing flesh, Zhou Yuanjue’s figure slowly emerged.

Cracks appeared on the carapace around his body, and it fell away piece by piece, revealing his original form.

The only difference was that he now held a strange, faintly shimmering object in his hand. On its surface, the faint imprint of a golden lotus-like structure could be seen, radiating an indescribable might.

"It seems your role isn’t nearly as important as you thought it was."

Zhou Yuanjue walked slowly over to Nainte. He held up the guidance mission sheet—imprinted with the True Racial Seal of the Sacred Lotus Civilization—and spoke with a smile.

"This time, we concede. Whatever you want, whatever your conditions are, just state them."

Nainte took a deep breath to compose himself, then replied, his voice transmitted through magnetic field vibrations.

He knew exactly what the other party’s actions implied.

By gaining access to the Aircraft Carrier, he must have reviewed the Data stored within and learned the truth.

And being able to pilot it meant that Zhou Yuanjue now had the ability to leave the planet and complete the guidance mission on his own.

In other words, their usefulness as guides had become negligible. In fact, one could even say they were now more of a threat than an asset.

This was a highly unfavorable situation. He was keenly aware of the risks involved in intercultural exchanges. If their positions were reversed and he held all the cards, he would probably be trying to kill his counterpart at the first opportunity.

But now, there still seemed to be a chance.

The fact that Zhou Yuanjue had let him regain consciousness for this Awakening and put on this show of force couldn’t have been meaningless.

This was their last chance.

"Good. It seems you understand your situation."

"Open your fundamental life structure and allow me to implant a restriction. If you do, I can allow you to return with us to the True Realm to complete your mission."

"That’s impossible!!"

Nainte’s reaction to Zhou Yuanjue’s condition was visceral.

It would mean the loss of their freedom—a terrifying prospect.

"Don’t be so quick to refuse. Think about your current predicament."

"As things stand, you are a threat to us. I don’t have a way to completely destroy you yet, but once I complete my transformation, annihilating you will be a simple matter."

"Besides, to be honest, I don’t think much of your strength. I’m only giving you this chance because this is our first contact with the True Realm, and I want to ensure the journey is as safe as possible."

"If you don’t know what’s good for you, don’t come to regret it."

Zhou Yuanjue said with a smile, walking slowly to the crystal Seal. He reached out and placed his palm upon it.

GURGLE! GURGLE!!

The viscous, translucent liquid began to slowly creep up toward Nainte’s head, preparing to Seal him once more.

"What a shame. The next time you wake up will likely be when I dispose of you for good."

Zhou Yuanjue sighed softly. The translucent liquid’s advance instantly accelerated, submerging half of Nainte’s head in a flash.

A sense of suffocation began to overwhelm Nainte.

"Wait! Wait! I agree!! I’ll do it!!"

At the last possible second, after a brief and complex internal struggle, Nainte violently pulsed his Spirit.
