Invincibility Begins with Mastery of Fist Techniques
Chapter 707 - 700: IdentityChapter 707: Chapter 700: Identity
Countless streams of white Jade Radiance submerged Debaka’s body. Under the terrifying power, his massive frame shattered inch by inch before being pulverized into fine dust, vanishing completely from the battlefield.
Zhou Yuanjue ceased his assault, slowly descending from mid-air back to the ground.
The thunderous roar of the furnace faded. The jade lotuses surrounding him dissolved, and his massive body gradually returned to its normal form.
The spectating crowd fell deathly silent, seemingly unable to process the scene before them.
’That legendary Demon Debaka... he was defeated just like that?!’
’The strongest of Bernard City’s current candidates, defeated in his very first battle?’
Everyone found it hard to believe.
Moreover, judging by the victor’s condition, it didn’t even look like Debaka had pushed him to his limit; he clearly still had strength to spare.
Never mind the audience—even Si Enli and Modin, the guides responsible for this batch of candidates, were completely stunned.
Debaka, even after using his mutual destruction technique, had been defeated in an overwhelmingly one-sided fashion.
’This means that guy’s true strength is significantly higher than Debaka’s.’
’Both the Transformation Level of his life structure and his innate Physical Talent seem to surpass Debaka’s.’
"When we get back, run a check as soon as possible. See if this kid is actually one of our candidates from Bernard City. If he is, he’s a seed with even higher priority than Debaka. He could become our ace in the hole."
Modin said, his eyes gleaming as he stared at the dragon-masked Zhou Yuanjue on the battlefield.
"The Dream Simulation battlefield has strict confidentiality protocols, so trying to uncover his identity that way isn’t realistic. However, if he’s a seed we overlooked who was only recently brought to Bernard City, then the relevant Data should reach us by tomorrow. We’ll know the situation then."
Si Enli nodded.
"Let’s hope our guess is correct."
Modin nodded.
Meanwhile, on the battlefield, Zhou Yuanjue stared in the direction where Debaka had vanished, feeling a sense of relief wash over him.
He hadn’t had a good fight in several months, ever since his battle with Nainte and his companion. This match finally allowed him to release his pent-up stress, leaving him feeling refreshed in body and mind. That was why he hadn’t used a stronger move to finish Debaka off instantly, choosing instead to clash with him repeatedly.
At the same time, he found himself looking forward to the True Realm even more.
’To run into an opponent like that on a random match... the True Realm really is fascinating.’
Just then, he received a notification from the Dream Simulation System with the battle results. His personal Data now read: one win, zero losses.
A moment later, a beam of light descended from the sky again, enveloping his body. When the light faded, he found himself back in his private cabin.
A faint sense of fatigue emanated from his Spirit.
While it was impossible to be truly injured or die in the Dream Simulation System, intense combat rapidly drained one’s Spirit and willpower, which could affect performance in future battles.
Zhou Yuanjue thought for a moment and decided not to queue for another match. ’I’ve already let off most of my steam, anyway. It’s better to rest and let my Spirit and willpower recover. After all, in a strange place like this, you never know what might happen.’
He found the "Log Out" button on the screen and touched it with his will. A powerful sensation of falling struck him, and his vision blurred. With a violent jolt, he once again felt the presence of his physical body.
CLICK! CLICK! CLICK!
The numerous neural connectors linked to his brain disconnected with a series of soft clicks, slowly retracting into their ports.
Zhou Yuanjue tapped the pod’s door button, and the hatch slowly opened.
He was slightly surprised by the sight outside the hatch.
Ji Yunzhou, Zhang Zhizhen, Lei Yi, and the other members of the Earth Martial Arts Family had apparently already logged out of the Dream System at some point. They were now crowded around his pod, their eyes wide and practically glowing.
"What’s... with all of you?"
Zhou Yuanjue looked at them, completely bewildered. He touched his own face to make sure there wasn’t anything weird on it.
"How’d you feel about that fight just now?"
Lei Yi asked.
"That fight? It was great. My opponent was pretty strong. The True Realm is full of hidden masters, just as they say. To run into someone like that in a random match... it seems we’re still too weak."
Zhou Yuanjue said with a sigh.
"Uh..."
Hearing Zhou Yuanjue’s response, Lei Yi and the others exchanged speechless glances.
"You don’t know who your opponent was?"
Zhang Zhizhen asked.
"His name was... Debaka, I think?"
"Why? Is he someone special?"
Zhou Yuanjue asked, confused.
"Didn’t you hear those other civilizations at the entrance talking about the ’Demon’? The one who’s supposedly the strongest candidate in our batch?"
"The guy you just beat was Demon Debaka. A lot of people were watching, and the news has probably already gotten out. It seems like everyone is trying to figure out who you are."
Lei Yi said with a sigh of resignation.
"So that guy was the Demon? No wonder he was so strong. What a coincidence. I thought all True Realm Life was that absurd."
Zhou Yuanjue said, stunned for a moment.
"You, honestly..."
Lei Yi couldn’t help but shake his head.
"What about the rest of you? Did you get any matches? How did it go?"
Zhou Yuanjue asked.
"Don’t even ask."
"Even the candidates from other planets are strong. Aside from Ji Yunzhou, who managed to scrape by with a win, the rest of us lost. We’re... still too weak."
Lei Yi sighed.
"I wouldn’t say that. You’ve all only just started working with the Sacred Lotus Structure. Give it some time, and surpassing them won’t be a problem."
"Come on, let’s get out of here for now."
Zhou Yuanjue said, trying to console them.
The group then prepared to leave the Dream Simulation Chamber. On their way out, they saw many candidates from other civilizations discussing the recent battle and speculating about Zhou Yuanjue’s identity. The whole chamber was a chaotic mix of voices and fluctuating magnetic fields.
"What’s going on? Sounds like all hell broke loose in there."
Outside, Nainte met up with the group as they came out and asked, confused.
"This guy just got matched against Demon Debaka. And won."
Ji Yunzhou shrugged and messaged Nainte.
Nainte’s jaw dropped. He glanced at Zhou Yuanjue, utterly speechless.
