Invincible Snake Emperor

Chapter 604 - 583: Invincible Snake King

Chapter 604: Chapter 583: Invincible Snake King

The sight left the people of Bai Town utterly stunned. They watched as the massive monsters fell one after another. These creatures, strong enough to destroy the world, were unbelievably fragile before their Snake King.

In just a few breaths, several Fierce Beasts were slain. They crashed to the ground like toppling mountains, making the very earth tremble.

The people soon realized that every tremor meant their Snake King had dispatched another Fierce Beast.

Their Snake King’s might was simply divine and unparalleled. He charged into the horde of nearly a hundred massive monsters, and it became a one-sided slaughter.

Many people hadn’t seen the Snake King appear and had assumed he was too frightened by the massive monsters to show himself.

They never expected the manifested Snake King to be so invincible. The sight made the people of Bai Town’s blood boil with excitement, their faces flushing as a strange light shone in their eyes.

A sense of pride swelled in their hearts—pride and glory in their faith in the Snake King.

In today’s world, no one had ever witnessed a Fierce Beast being slain so effortlessly.

"Long live the Snake King! The Snake King is invincible..."

And so, waves of Faith Points began to generate. As Tu Xiao’an unleashed his divine might and slayed the Fierce Beasts, the number of his followers surpassed the four hundred thousand mark.

That was roughly the entire population of Bai Town.

Strangely, however, the rate at which Tu Xiao’an’s followers grew didn’t slow in the slightest. It seemed faster than the passing of every minute and second.

It turned out that a reporter was aiming his camera at the distant battle, broadcasting it live over the internet.

All the major cities were currently being ravaged by Fierce Beasts. It was just that the War Relics in the Wencheng area had unleashed the Ancient Taotie, while other major cities faced different apocalyptic scenarios.

This reporter from the city had originally intended to report on the tragic state of Bai Town and to ascertain exactly how many Fierce Beasts had appeared.

He planned to compile statistics based on the number of Fierce Beasts in each region.

But he never expected to witness nearly a hundred Fierce Beasts attacking the town. Despair washed over him instantly. ’Not even the entire Wencheng City has seen this many Fierce Beasts, right?’

With so many Fierce Beasts, not only would the people of Bai Town be unable to survive, but even he, a field reporter, wouldn’t be able to make it back alive.

But who would have thought a majestic, giant snake would burst from the sky to wage a world-shaking war against the Fierce Beasts? And most incredibly, it began to slay them one by one, its heaven-defying methods like those of a Divine Spirit.

’The Bai Town Snake King???’

Hearing the people of Bai Town kneeling and shouting, "Long live the Snake King," and then seeing the Snake King Temple, the reporter had a sudden realization. His jaw dropped in astonishment.

It was no secret that the people of Bai Town worshipped snakes, used the snake as their totem, and believed in the legendary Snake King.

But the reporter never imagined a real Snake King would actually appear to vanquish demons.

And the majesty and power of this Snake King were simply beyond description.

"This is a live report from Bai Town, a part of Wencheng City. The town is currently under attack by a hundred Fierce Beasts! This ancient town with its thousand-year history is on the brink of destruction, but its people have not given up! They are calling out in unison for the Snake King, their ancestral object of faith, to come and save them—and the Snake King has actually appeared!"

"Viewers, are you seeing this? Ahead, right there in front of us! It’s the astonishing sight of Bai Town’s legendary Snake King battling a hundred Fierce Beasts! Each Fierce Beast that falls to the ground means countless lives in Bai Town have been saved! Long live the Snake King! Long live the Snake King!"

The reporter grew more and more excited as he spoke, becoming a devout follower of the Snake King in the middle of his own broadcast.

In the past, the appearance of such a giant snake would have meant that a terrifying Snake Demon had emerged to wreak havoc and bring disaster upon the people.

But now, the headline was: *Invincible Snake King Battles a Hundred Fierce Beasts, Saving Hundreds of Thousands in Bai Town.*

In regions everywhere, light burst from the eyes of viewers watching the live broadcast on their computer and phone screens.

Until now, everyone had been under the same illusion: that the Fierce Beasts were invincible. Humanity’s proud modern weaponry had become as useless as fire pokers. The arrival of the Fierce Beasts meant only devastation and the fall of an entire region.

But after seeing a giant snake slaughtering the Fierce Beasts, a blazing hope ignited within everyone.

"Whoa, that giant snake is incredible! It controls wind, rain, and Thunder, killing Fierce Beasts so effortlessly! It’s even more amazing than a Divine Dragon. Could it be a Divine Beast?"

"What? The Bai Town Snake King? I heard a classmate talk about it before. He made it sound so mystical, and I just scoffed at the time. Now I believe it!"

"Snake King, please save the people of our Qingshui Town!"

The comments under the broadcast instantly broke one hundred thousand. The vast majority were all the same: "People of [such-and-such region], please, invincible Snake King, come save us...!"

This live broadcast was the reason for the continuous increase in Tu Xiao’an’s followers.

Meanwhile, Tu Xiao’an, having manifested his true form, was on a killing spree. These Taotie clones were all incredibly strong, far more powerful than ordinary Demon Spirits.

It would likely take a dozen or more Rank Three Demon Spirits just to deal with a single Taotie clone.

Fortunately, this was Tu Xiao’an. His Cultivation had reached the Demon King Level. He could summon clouds with one turn of his hand and conjure rain with the other. The five types of Elemental Attribute Power he wielded were the Fierce Beasts’ death warrant.

Ordinarily, Tu Xiao’an wouldn’t have needed to manifest his true form to deal with the Taotie clones, not even a hundred of them.

But Bai Town needed the Snake King, not him, Tu Xiao’an.

In order to act with just cause, he had to emerge in his true form. Otherwise, no one would recognize him.

What was once an Earthly Purgatory for Bai Town had become a death Purgatory for the hundred or so Fierce Beasts. In a mere ten minutes, Tu Xiao’an had already slain fifty to sixty of the Taotie clones.

He was even surprised to notice that his followers had surpassed six hundred thousand. ’Bai Town doesn’t even have six hundred thousand people, does it?’

As Tu Xiao’an spread his Consciousness Power, he discovered a reporter hiding and filming amidst the ruins.

In the past, Tu Xiao’an would have destroyed the reporter’s camera without a second thought. He didn’t want the exposure, which could cause social turmoil.

But times had changed. The Earth of today was different—bizarre, fantastical, and shrouded in apocalypse.

The Exotic Beasts that burst from the War Relics were like an alien invasion, bringing only destruction.

This was different from Demons. Although Demons who underwent awakened Cultivation weren’t on good terms with humans and there was plenty of friction behind the scenes, it all amounted to minor squabbles.

Both sides had a tacit understanding not to shatter the peaceful, atheistic status quo.

But the Ancient Fierce Beasts were another matter entirely. Their emergence meant slaughter and destruction. Red alerts sounded in every major city, and online forums, message boards, and social media platforms were flooded with humanity’s cries of despair.

Human Awakened Cultivators had been completely exposed. The veil was torn, so it was no longer a big deal for Demons to be exposed as well.

Humans could be heroes, and so could Demons. Besides, a being that could save the world wouldn’t be called a Demon; it would be called a Divine Beast.

An incarnation of a God.

If Tu Xiao’an wanted the entire world to believe in him as the Snake King, he had to stand before its people.

He had to let the world know of his existence as the Snake King.

Only then would the number of his believers skyrocket.

Tu Xiao’an’s first step was to break one million believers. But from the looks of it, one million wouldn’t be difficult to achieve.

To better show the world just how badass he was as the Snake King, Tu Xiao’an made himself appear even more sacred and inviolable, glittering with golden light—the more mythical he looked, the better.

He would do his best to completely dazzle them all.

PS: I (Qing Bai) practically wrote this Chapter with my eyes half-closed. It’s only a little after seven, but I’m already dead tired. I’ve been so drowsy lately. It’s not that I don’t want to do a Chapter burst; let’s talk about that after I’ve finally gotten enough sleep. Also, please give me more suggestions for the protagonist’s system rewards. Let me know what kinds of powerful rewards you’d like to see. Give me some good ideas, and don’t just follow my train of thought—that’s no fun.

I’m going to sleep.
