"White-robed Scholar, there isn't really a Martial Emperor here, is there?"

the Crimson Blood Old Monster asked doubtfully.

The White-robed Scholar rolled his eyes. "We're in the same boat now. Would I lie to you? What good would that do me?"

'He was filled with immense regret.'

'If only they had arrived a bit earlier. They might have been able to befriend that person and get help dealing with the disaster chasing them.'

"Hurry up!"

the White-robed Scholar urged. "If the Burial Land Demon Venerable catches up to us, he'll suck us into dried-up husks! Our souls will never be free!"

"Go!"

The Crimson Blood Old Monster and the White-robed Scholar transformed into two streaks of light and vanished.

On the way, the Crimson Blood Old Monster pointed at the grim, white bones littering the ground. "White-robed Scholar, this looks like the Bone Dead Tiger's territory, doesn't it?"

"That's right,"

the White-robed Scholar said. "The Bone Dead Tiger is one of the most powerful Evil Demons in this burial ground. It also possesses an Undying Body."

"Then why did you bring me here?"

the Crimson Blood Old Monster cried in terror.

'They were both heavily injured, their power greatly diminished. If they ran into the Bone Dead Tiger now, they'd be dead for sure.'

The White-robed Scholar said, "It's dangerous here, but it's also our only chance of survival."

"Why?"

The Crimson Blood Old Monster was confused.

The White-robed Scholar chuckled. "Just think. What would happen if the Bone Dead Tiger were to fight the Burial Land Demon Venerable?"

"The Bone Dead Tiger would be killed,"

the Crimson Blood Old Monster said without a moment's hesitation.

'Even with its Undying Body, the Burial Land Demon Venerable is so powerful he could pummel the Bone Dead Tiger into dust.'

"It's not that simple!"

The White-robed Scholar chuckled. "Even if the Burial Land Demon Venerable could bypass its Undying Body and kill it, it would still take him time. That's our chance."

"I get it!"

the Crimson Blood Old Monster said. "You want to make them fight to buy us time to escape. Not bad, not bad at all. That's an excellent idea."

The two darted endlessly through the Bone Forest.

However, despite searching for a long time, they found no trace of the Bone Dead Tiger.

"The Bone Dead Tiger is out?"

the White-robed Scholar said, his expression turning grim.

'At such a crucial moment, that damned Dead Tiger had to run off somewhere else.'

'This is so damn frustrating.'

The Crimson Blood Old Monster was speechless.

'Without the Bone Dead Tiger to hold up the Burial Land Demon Venerable, they had no chance to escape. Sooner or later, he would catch up and kill them.'

"What do we do now?"

the Crimson Blood Old Monster asked frantically.

The White-robed Scholar gritted his teeth. "Don't panic. Since that Dead Tiger isn't here, we'll go find the Molten Giant Beast. In this entire Demon Venerable Burial Ground, it's the only other one who can hold off the Burial Land Demon Venerable and buy us a bit of time."

"The Molten Giant Beast?"

The Crimson Blood Old Monster nodded. "Alright, let's head to the Molten Giant Beast's territory now. We'll get it to shield us from this calamity."

The pair changed direction and sped toward the Molten Giant Beast's territory.

Meanwhile, Su Mo had crossed several mountains and rivers but still hadn't found the Molten Giant Beast. He asked angrily, "Four-legged Snake, do you know the damned way or not?"

"Er..."

Cold sweat dripped down the Swamp Ferocious Crocodile's back.

'It remembered clearly that the Molten Giant Beast was in this mountain range. How could it be gone?'

"My lord," the Swamp Ferocious Crocodile said, "could you please give me a moment to think?"

"You have three minutes!"

Su Mo said furiously. "If you can't find the right way in three minutes, I'll flatten both you and all these mountains."

"Yes, yes, of course!"

The Swamp Ferocious Crocodile glanced around, lost.

'Which way was it?'

BOOM!

Just then, a distant mountain on the horizon suddenly erupted with a colossal boom, spewing forth massive amounts of fiery red lava that seemed to burn a hole through the sky.

"I found it! It's over there!"

The Swamp Ferocious Crocodile pointed in the direction of the sound, its voice full of delighted surprise.

"So that's the place?"

Su Mo teleported toward the erupting volcano.

At that very moment, the White-robed Scholar and the Crimson Blood Old Monster arrived at the crater and shouted in unison, "Molten Giant Beast, get the hell out here!"

There was no response.

The Crimson Blood Old Monster frowned. "Don't tell me this guy isn't home either?"

The White-robed Scholar nodded, his face dark.

Just then...

A terrifying aura washed over them from the distance. The White-robed Scholar's expression changed drastically. "This is bad! The Burial Land Demon Venerable has caught up!"

"What?"

The Crimson Blood Old Monster's face fell in terror.

'He couldn't understand it. Why wasn't the Burial Land Demon Venerable chasing after Haitiansha and Mo Taishang's group? Why was he so fixated on them?'

'Were they just that unlucky?'

Despair washed over the White-robed Scholar.

'They had expended so much effort to open the Demon Venerable Burial Ground ahead of schedule. They had broken the Ancient Temple Seal and, after so much toil, finally found the Blood Bodhi.'

'And in the end, before they could even harvest it, they'd run straight into the Burial Land Demon Venerable.'

'Not only had all their efforts been for nothing, but now they were going to lose their lives for it.'

'This was the worst luck in eight lifetimes.'

The White-robed Scholar wailed to the heavens, "Molten Giant Beast, you son of a bitch! Where the hell did you go?! Get out here right now!"

RUMBLE!

A loud rumble echoed from within the volcano, and a massive molten monster, shouldering a Wolf Fang Club, charged out.

"Molten Giant Beast!"

"So you were home all along! Why didn't you come out sooner?"

The two of them stared at the Molten Giant Beast, their faces a mixture of surprise and delight.

The Molten Giant Beast was incandescent with rage. Spewing fire, it roared, "Are you two insane? Showing up at my door this early in the morning and screaming your heads off! Are you going to let a guy sleep or not?"

"You were sleeping?"

It dawned on the White-robed Scholar.

'No wonder he'd been shouting himself hoarse and the Molten Giant Beast still hadn't appeared.'

'So the beast was asleep.'

"Hmph!"

The Molten Giant Beast snorted. "You knew I was sleeping and you still dared to disturb me? You must have a death wish! Fine, I'll grant it for you!"

BOOM!

Hefting its Wolf Fang Club, the Molten Giant Beast charged at the pair.

The White-robed Scholar's mind raced, and he quickly said, "Wait! I've come to extend an invitation on behalf of my master."

"Your master?"

The Molten Giant Beast looked perplexed.

Without batting an eye, the White-robed Scholar lied, "That's right. My master wishes to recruit you as his subordinate, to act as his enforcer. He sent us two specifically to inform you."

"Huh?"

The Molten Giant Beast was stunned.

'In the entire Demon Venerable Burial Ground, it was the strongest one besides the Blood Demon and the Bone Dead Tiger. Who would dare try to make it their subordinate?'

'The sheer arrogance!'

The Molten Giant Beast roared, "You want to recruit me as an enforcer? Is that it? I'll kill you two first, then I'll drag your corpses to your master and kill him too! I'll slaughter every last one of you!"

With that, the Molten Giant Beast brought its Wolf Fang Club crashing down.

THUD!

A giant crater was smashed into the earth.

The White-robed Scholar dodged the attack and feigned anger. "Molten Giant Beast, don't be a fool who doesn't know what's good for him! Otherwise, I'll inform my master and have him pound you back into molten rock!"

"Insolence!"

The Molten Giant Beast bellowed, then laughed in a fit of rage, "Fine, fine, fine! You tell me who your master is, and I'll go slaughter him with my Wolf Fang Club right now!"

"There's no need for that. My master will be here himself shortly,"

the White-robed Scholar said calmly.

The Crimson Blood Old Monster pointed in the direction from which the Burial Land Demon Venerable was approaching. "Our master is already here. If you don't believe it, just look."
