Invincible Starting From the Nine Dragons Technique

Chapter 300: Making an Exception to Eat a Person

"You?"

Lei Xing looked at Old Monster Feng’s disciple with a strange expression.

’This kid is still too young,’ he thought. ’He doesn’t understand that there’s always someone better out there. If he’s not taught some discipline, he’ll pay dearly for it one day.’

Old Monster Feng said coolly, "Nie Lang, that’s enough. Don’t you see Elder Lei is here? This is no place for your impudence."

"I’m not being impudent!"

Nie Lang pointed at Su Mo. "Just look at him. He seems to be only eighteen or nineteen. I’m already twenty-one—I’m old enough to be his big brother. It’s only right that I teach him a lesson. And as for strength... Hey, kid, what’s your Realm?"

"Early Stage Martial Artist."

Su Mo replied calmly.

Nie Lang scoffed. "What? A grown man like you is only an Early Stage Martial Artist? That’s pathetic."

"You’re calling me pathetic?"

Su Mo asked, a smile playing on his lips.

"That’s right. I’m a Late Stage Martial Monarch, the number one genius of the Celestial Wind Sect. I can crush an Early Stage Martial Artist like you without breaking a sweat. In my eyes, what are you if not pathetic?"

Nie Lang shot Su Mo a disdainful glance before turning back to Old Monster Feng. "Master," he said respectfully, "I surpass him in both age and strength. Is that really being impudent?"

"Hahaha!"

Old Monster Feng roared with laughter. "You’re absolutely right. You surpass him in every way. Compared to you, he is indeed trash."

The surrounding crowd all shot Su Mo mocking looks.

"And we’re supposed to call a piece of trash like that Elder Su?"

"Even if the Giant Sword Sect is just trying to fleece us, they should’ve at least found an old man who looks like a Martial Emperor. What’s this, hiring some trash?"

"They’re clearly playing us for fools!"

The crowd grumbled in dissatisfaction.

Nie Lang said coolly, "Elder Lei, I assume the Giant Sword Sect wouldn’t mind if I helped you teach this piece of trash a lesson?"

"Kid, what do you think you’re doing?"

Lei Xing asked in a panic.

Nie Lang scoffed. "What do you think? I’m going to beat him, grind his face into the dirt like a dog, and expose this charade of him being an ’Elder.’"

"No, don’t!"

Horrified, Lei Xing rushed forward to stop Nie Lang.

However, Old Monster Feng moved in a blur to block his path. "Let the children solve their own problems."

BOOM!

A wave of a Martial Emperor’s might sent the unprepared Lei Xing stumbling backward.

Lei Xing shook his head helplessly. "Old Monster Feng, you’ve made a grave mistake."

"A grave mistake?"

Old Monster Feng sneered.

’Causing a mistake is exactly why I came here today. If possible, I’ll turn the entire Giant Sword Sect upside down.’

’As for Su Mo... he’ll just be a warm-up.’

Nie Lang strutted up to Su Mo and said arrogantly, "Kid with the surname Su, don’t say I’m bullying you. I’ll let you have the first move. I can finish you in an instant."

ROAR!

Just then, a deafening beastly roar echoed, shaking the very heavens and earth.

The concussive force of the sound made everyone’s ears go numb.

PTUI!

Nie Lang coughed up a mouthful of black blood. He looked up, his face a mask of terror, to see a massive, bestial silhouette standing beside Su Mo.

"A Tier Six Demon King... an Ink Flood Dragon!"

Nie Lang cried out in terror.

This sudden turn of events left everyone else in the crowd stunned.

"A Divine Beast? And a Tier Six, at that? What is a creature like that doing here?"

"Nie Lang, run!"

"Ink Flood Dragons are exceptionally vicious Demon Beasts! If it’s targeted you, you’re a dead man!"

In an instant, the crowd turned pale with fright and scattered, fleeing for their lives.

Only Su Mo remained standing in place, unmoved.

Su Mo asked, "Ink Flood Dragon, how long has it been since you’ve eaten a person?"

"Several months!"

The Ink Flood Dragon rubbed its flat stomach.

Ever since it started following Su Mo, it hadn’t eaten any people. It either ate plants or had to hunt wild game for itself. The diet had made it grow thin.

"A few months, you say?"

Su Mo smiled. "In light of your loyal service, I’ll make an exception just this once. You can have some meat."

"Really?"

The Ink Flood Dragon’s face lit up with delight as it stared at Nie Lang, drool dripping from its maw.

Wiping away his cold sweat, Nie Lang forced himself to remain calm. "You, Su! Stop putting on an act! This is a Divine Beast, not your Demon Pet."

"Eat him!"

Su Mo ordered.

"As you command!"

The Ink Flood Dragon approached Nie Lang, opened its vast, bloody maw, and swallowed him whole.

GULP!

The Ink Flood Dragon let out a satisfied burp. "Thank you for the meal, Elder Su!"

Su Mo waved his hand. "Stand down."

The Ink Flood Dragon transformed into a large man in black robes and retreated, standing obediently and silently behind Su Mo.

The sight left the crowd utterly dumbfounded.

"Holy shit, it actually ate him."

"So brutal... It swallowed a grown man like Nie Lang without even chewing. He didn’t even have time to scream."

"That’s Su Mo’s Demon Pet. Su Mo was the one who gave the order."

Everyone’s eyes were now fixed on Su Mo.

Instantly, Yang Bin was scared witless.

He never would have dreamed that Su Mo had such a savage Demon Beast at his side—one that obeyed his every command.

"Uncle, I..."

Yang Bin looked at Yang Bo, trembling.

Cold sweat streamed down Yang Bo’s back as he tried to offer some comfort. "Don’t be afraid. Elder Su is a good man. He won’t hold a grudge against us... Bin, you’ll have to support me. My legs have gone soft."

The two had to hold onto each other just to stay standing.

The memory of how they had boasted, right in front of Su Mo, about taking his head to use as a chamber pot and kicking it around like a ball scared them half to death.

A sharp stench of urine emanated from their trousers.

"Sigh..."

Lei Xing sighed helplessly. "Old Monster Feng, didn’t I warn you? I told you not to let Nie Lang provoke Elder Su."

Old Monster Feng’s face was ashen.

’I considered countless possibilities, but I never imagined he’d have a Divine Beast protecting him.’

Nie Lang had died so senselessly.

BOOM!

The more Old Monster Feng thought about it, the angrier he became. A terrifying pressure erupted from his body. "You little bastard! Tell that accursed beast behind you to spit my disciple out!"

"Can you spit him out?"

Su Mo looked back at the Ink Flood Dragon.

The Ink Flood Dragon shook its head. "Can’t be done. I’ve already digested him."

Su Mo asked, surprised, "That fast?"

The Ink Flood Dragon nodded. "To be honest, Elder Su, we Demon Beasts have very efficient digestive systems. It only takes a few seconds to digest a person. Besides, even if he wasn’t digested, he’d still be dead by now."

"Well, can’t be helped then!"

Su Mo shrugged helplessly at Old Monster Feng.

Lei Xing tried to reason with him. "Old Monster Feng, take my advice. Present your Treasure and leave quietly. You might still save your own life. Otherwise, I can’t even imagine how horrible your death will be."

"Impossible!"

Old Monster Feng refused. "Lei Xing, don’t even bother pleading. I wouldn’t show any deference even if your Sect Leader, Lujiang Qu, came here himself! Not unless you bring my disciple back and kill that accursed beast with the surname Su with your own hands."

"Kill Su..."

Lei Xing’s expression turned glacial.

Old Monster Feng said coldly, "That’s right. If you don’t meet my conditions, I’ll slaughter him myself. Not even the Celestial King could save him then. I, Old Monster Feng, swear it."

"Be my guest!"

Lei Xing said with a bizarre expression.

’Does Su Mo need anyone to protect him?’

’Of course not.’

’What gives the Celestial King the right to protect Su Mo? Who the hell does he think he is?’
