Raphael was initially anxious when he activated his Secret Technique and desperately fled.
He was worried that Kong Hua might have a similar method for increasing Speed.
But as the distance between him and Kong Hua widened, his anxiety gradually subsided.
Especially when he sensed Kong Hua suddenly stop, he almost thought his opponent was giving up.
But he hadn’t been happy for long before something terrifying happened.
His opponent’s pursuit Speed suddenly skyrocketed. In fact, "skyrocketed" wasn’t even the right word for it—it was as if he had instantly broken through into another dimension.
His opponent’s Speed had shot up from 25,000 points to a staggering 250,000.
It was a level of Speed he had never even heard of, and he had no idea if any Divine Demon Realm expert could possibly achieve it.
But he was certain of one thing: this time, he was doomed.
At this point, watching Kong Hua charge at him from the distance with overwhelming momentum, Raphael wished he could just die.
What he found most infuriating was that if his opponent had this kind of power all along, why give him hope? Why let him think he was about to escape, only to plunge him back into despair?
Filled with grief and indignation, Raphael began to channel all the Blood Qi Power in his body, gathering it in his arms. As the Rock Giant charged, he instantly unleashed a torrent of claw shadows that filled the sky.
This was one of his signature killing moves: Death Claw Shadow.
He had once used this move to defeat a Divine Demon Realm Late Stage expert in a frontal assault. However, this trump card consumed an enormous amount of energy, so he would never use it unless it was a critical moment.
And this was clearly one of those moments.
As he watched the sky-blotting claw shadows envelop the Rock Giant, a glimmer of hope remained in Raphael’s eyes.
Kong Hua’s Speed was terrifying, but if he could injure his opponent while he was caught off guard, escape might not be impossible.
But in the next instant, the massive, 10-meter-tall Rock Giant displayed an agility that completely defied its size. Weaving forward and backward, left and right, it nimbly dodged its way right through the torrent of claw shadows.
"This is impossible!" Raphael screamed. It simply defied all common sense.
But what answered him was a hard, rocky fist.
BAM! BAM! BAM!
In an instant, Raphael felt five or six punches land, leaving him dizzy and disoriented.
He gritted his teeth, fighting through the dizziness in his head. As his opponent threw another punch, he coated his Sharp Claws with Blood Qi Power, intending to land a vicious counterattack.
But... his attack missed.
BAM! BAM! BAM!
His opponent’s giant rock fists, however, didn’t miss, continuing to hammer away at his head.
Again and again, Raphael tried to counterattack, but without exception, every single one of his attempts was dodged. Meanwhile, every one of his opponent’s attacks landed squarely.
BAM! BAM! BAM!
BAM! BAM! BAM!
As Kong Hua hammered Raphael with one punch after another, he couldn’t help but sigh with a mix of emotions. An opponent of his own Level, yet he was being beaten so badly he couldn’t even fight back.
By now, Raphael no longer even had the strength to counterattack; he could only rely on his Blood Qi Power and the immense Defense Power of his Divine Demon Body to barely endure.
But that endurance would surely run out.
"He’s pretty tough, but it’s almost over," Kong Hua said, a hint of excitement in his voice as he kept punching.
Lin Xinghai, who had moved to the Rock Giant’s back to avoid being targeted by Raphael, couldn’t help but roll his eyes when he heard Kong Hua muttering to himself.
He really wanted to retort, ’Is it that he’s tough? It’s that your attacks are too weak!’
Of course, he only dared to think such things. He had to use both hands to desperately cling to the Rock Giant’s body, just to keep from being thrown off by the sheer inertia.
Finally, after five minutes, once Raphael’s Blood Qi Power was completely depleted and he could no longer sustain his Superpower, Kong Hua knocked him unconscious and captured him alive.
Under the effects of Time Acceleration, those five minutes translated to only thirty seconds in real time.
"I never thought I’d have such a glorious achievement one day—capturing a Divine Demon Realm expert alive in half a minute. I feel like I can brag about this for the rest of my life," said Kong Hua, still in his Rock Giant form. He toyed with the captured Raphael—who had reverted to his human form, his head swollen like a pig’s—and sighed with emotion.
Capturing an expert of the same Level alive was far more difficult than simply killing them.
By now, Lin Xinghai had deactivated his Time Acceleration Ability. He immediately jumped down and stood off to the side in silence, not feeling much like talking.
His hands were still a bit numb from gripping the rock with excessive force. This support role, he felt, was far more exhausting than fighting a battle himself.
After his moment of reflection, Kong Hua seemed to finally remember Lin Xinghai at his side. He looked at him, his face full of awe, and said, "Time Element Superpowers... they’re truly terrifying."
"You don’t even need to mature fully. Even now, any Divine Demon Realm expert with your support would see their combat power skyrocket, putting them on par with the very strongest in the realm."
"But what I’m truly looking forward to is the day you reach the Divine Demon Realm yourself and claim the title of the absolute strongest."
Coming from a Divine Demon Realm expert, this was undoubtedly the highest possible praise.
Moreover, Lin Xinghai could sense that after this display of his power, the other man no longer saw him as a junior, but as an equal—an expert on the same Level.
"You flatter me, General Kong. I will do my best," Lin Xinghai replied quickly.
"Haha, let’s go! We’ll head back now. You’ve rendered a great service this time. I’ll personally put in a commendation for you and try to get you promoted a few ranks," Kong Hua boomed with a laugh, then led Lin Xinghai on a quick return journey.
...
By the time the two of them returned to the battlefield, the defensive lines established around the perimeter of the underground base had already been breached in several places.
It looked like the fighting would be over in another ten minutes or so.
Meanwhile, inside the underground base, Yi Hongliang’s team, with the support of the Combat Robots, had swiftly cleared the final two floors and now had complete control of the entire facility.
In a sense, the battle was essentially over.
Of course, to prevent further casualties on the military’s side, Kong Hua immediately brought out the captive Raphael for all to see. He issued a final ultimatum to the enemy: surrender, and you will be spared.
The armed personnel who had been holding out saw that their base’s strongest expert had been captured alive. That, combined with the intimidating presence of Kong Hua, a Divine Demon Realm expert, was enough. Soon, they began to surrender one by one.
Of course, a few pockets of resistance still held out stubbornly. But after Kong Hua made a few more moves—unleashing his Rock Superpower from a distance to deliver devastating strikes to their positions—those remaining fighters completely lost the will to fight.
Three minutes after Lin Xinghai and Kong Hua returned, the battle was completely over.
All that remained was to clean up the battlefield, but that had little to do with Lin Xinghai.
He went straight to find Fu Yuan and headed to the rest area designated for their special operations squad.
