Invincible Young Master in the City
Chapter 2050 - 2046: Talking Nonsense Like a LunaticAfter cultivating with Lan Jing, Ye Fan returned to the Pangu Secret Realm with a relaxed mood.
Back in the Pangu Secret Realm, Ye Fan went straight to Heavenly Peak Mountain. As he stood there on the mountain, he felt extremely at ease. This time, his return was due to his subduing of Li Yunhuo, which gave him a deeper understanding and perspective on Heavenly Peak Mountain.
Although the mountain still only had that one divine weapon, Ye Fan seemed to sense an enormous energy hidden there. This energy could destroy heaven and earth, altering all historical rules.
"Perhaps this is the original sin encountered by ancient cultivators. When they created the entire world, they were forced to admit that they too were created by higher-level cultivators, much like the predicament of humans. I can’t imagine what the final outcome for humans will be. Even if not destroyed by Heavenly Tribulation, they might still destroy themselves out of arrogance and pride!"
Ye Fan walked to the ruins of the Li Fire Sect’s mountain gate. Amidst the debris, he picked up several small stones to examine them. Although these stones’ structures were similar to those in the Pangu Secret Realm, he could sense a breath that didn’t belong to human civilization.
"Ye Fan, why are you here?" A voice sounded behind Ye Fan, none other than Pangu.
Pangu is the source of all life, at least according to ancient legends. No one dares to deny Pangu’s status in the realm of spirits. The entire Pangu Secret Realm was created by him, and even the subsequent generations of ancient cultivators were creations of both him and Nuwa. Everyone understands that without Pangu, there would be no intelligent life in the universe.
But Ye Fan also knows that despite Pangu’s exalted status, he was also created by an even higher creator. Pangu himself was merely an experimental subject.
"Why shouldn’t I be here?" Ye Fan turned to look at Pangu. To his surprise, he didn’t find any trace of Fu Xi. It seemed Fu Xi had disappeared temporarily, as though he vanished completely from the world and couldn’t be sensed anywhere in the universe.
Pangu chuckled, seemingly stumped by Ye Fan’s question, unsure of how to respond.
Eventually, Pangu asked seriously, "Ye Fan, where is your master? That man named Zhuo Junwu, is he dead now, or have you imprisoned him?"
"Whether he’s alive or dead has nothing to do with me. Even if he disappeared, you shouldn’t come to me about his whereabouts. If he’s dead now, hasn’t the Heavenly Tribulation already happened?" Ye Fan replied naturally.
Pangu scrutinized Ye Fan, appearing to discern if he was lying, but eventually shook his head. "Being in a mentor-disciple relationship with him, I can’t determine his whereabouts, so I came to ask if you knew where he might be!"
"I can’t possibly know his whereabouts because I was never concerned about them. If you think I should know, that’s just your bias or whatever!" Ye Fan’s tone turned cold, "I think he should have been defeated by you. There are remnants of his aura here. I think you defeated him and kept him imprisoned, fearing an early arrival of the Heavenly Tribulation, worried about him thwarting your plans. So you went ahead and defeated him, as imprisoning him is the only way to prevent the tribulation from arriving early!"
Pangu shook his head, "It’s embarrassing to say, but I tried to imprison him, yet ultimately failed. This man escaped right under my eyes!"
"What did you say?" Ye Fan seemed incredulous, though he already knew the truth.
Pangu was also watching his reaction at this point, as if both were testing each other. Ye Fan knew that hiding things from Pangu would be very difficult, yet he still attempted it, understanding that Pangu was not his ally but his greatest adversary.
His confrontation with the Heavenly Tribulation wasn’t as challenging as confronting Pangu. Pangu was the strongest foe he faced, while the tribulation could be managed through various means.
"Fu Xi and I searched for him for a long time without finding any clues. I thought he had left the universe, yet I know that channel can’t open before the Heavenly Tribulation. If the tribulation already happened, I’d rather believe he escaped. Now his options are simple—either defeated and imprisoned by you or me. Since he’s not in my hands, I’ll only believe he’s in yours!" Pangu finally glared at Ye Fan, as if to say, "You’ve deceived me, Ye Fan."
Ye Fan closed his eyes and said, "This person means nothing direct to me. If you think he’s in my hands, challenge me. If you defeat me, you should find him!"
"I won’t do that!" Pangu shook his head. "Even though he’s part of the Heavenly Tribulation faction, his existence means little to me. I’d rather he were dead, hoping the tribulation arrives early... Do you think I fear the tribulation? Often, I think its arrival serves as a trial of my cultivation. The Heavenly Tribulation cannot destroy me..."
Ye Fan smiled, though the smile was somewhat grim. He didn’t want to listen to Pangu’s nonsense. To Ye Fan, Pangu seemed blind with arrogance.
"Since you’ve decided to confront the Heavenly Tribulation alone, why drag me into this? Is it because you want to emphasize your control over everything as an ancient cultivator?" Ye Fan sneered.
"Remember Ye Fan, you were not used by me, but by your master, Zhuo Junwu!" Pangu said. "Among the ancient cultivators, besides Fu Xi and myself, no one else is your match. You’ve surpassed many legends and might become a sovereign next. But you must overcome two challenges: the Heavenly Tribulation, and me and Fu Xi... If you fully gain Fu Xi’s support, it could be your best outcome, as Fu Xi’s strength is far beyond what you imagine!"
Ye Fan replied, "What do you mean, do you want Fu Xi to collaborate with me? Hmph, you know very well, Fu Xi is utterly loyal to you, even forsaking his woman to support you. Why should I believe he would help me? Simply a fool’s dream!"
