The next morning came quietly.

Warm water streamed from the rainfall shower above, filling that section of the bathroom with a soft, steady sound. Steam gathered lightly against the dark glass walls, blurring the view of the enormous bathroom beyond.

Adrian stood beneath the water, his eyes closed as he let it run over his face, and left strands of his hair sticky on his forehead.

He reached for the shampoo bottle resting on the recessed shelf and was just about to open it when he felt slender fingers brush gently across his chest.

He paused briefly. Her naked chest pressed against his chest as the warm water poured over her.

Emilia stepped closer behind him, pressing her cheek against his back.

Her arms slipped around his waist.

"Good morning," she greeted softly.

A smile touched Adrian’s lips.

He turned around. The moment he faced her, his arms went around her waist, drawing her closer.

"Good morning, sweetheart." He lifted her chin gently with his thumb.

Emilia smiled.

She rose onto her toes.

Adrian understood immediately.

He softly leaned down and kissed her.

The kiss was soft and unhurried, nothing like the intensity of the night before. Emilia’s hands rested against his shoulders while Adrian kept one arm securely around her waist.

When they finally parted, their foreheads remained close.

Adrian studied her face. "Did I hurt you last night?"

Emilia raised an eyebrow. Then she chuckled. "Hurt me?" She tried a joke.

"I’m serious, Emilia." His expression was genuinely concerned. "You called me mean when I moved into you."

Emilia laughed again. "Oh, that!"

She wrapped her arms around his neck and gently pulled him down until their faces were level.

"Last night was a top-secret pleasure."

Adrian’s eyebrow lifted. "A top-secret pleasure?"

She nodded solemnly. "Very top secret. You didn’t hurt me. I enjoyed every second."

A smile finally appeared on his face.

Emilia smiled back.

"You don’t have to worry about me." She brushed her thumb lightly along his jaw. "I was fine. More than fine."

His expression softened. "Good."

His hands settled more firmly around her hips, his thumbs moving gently against them. His hand slod under her ass cheeks, and he rubbed on them as the water dropped.

Emilia looked down at his hands, then back at him. "You’re still worried." she noticed.

"I worry about you."

She smiled.

For a moment, neither spoke.

Then Emilia’s expression turned thoughtful.

"I’ll need an indoor massager, though."

Adrian blinked at her, listening.

She smiled innocently. "You wrecked me last night. My thighs still hurt."

His mouth twitched. "I’ll have one brought up." he searched her eyes. "And I’ll make sure you actually rest today."

Emilia narrowed her eyes. "You’re giving me orders?"

"Suggestions."

She laughed.

Adrian brushed a damp strand of hair away from her face. "Are you sure you’re comfortable?"

"Yes."

"Any pain?"

"Just my thighs."

His expression became concerned again. "I’ll take care of it."

Emilia smiled.

"Let me help you with that." She pointed toward the shampoo bottle.

Adrian glanced at it, then at her. "You want to wash my hair?"

"Yes."

He handed her the bottle.

Emilia accepted it, then looked up at him. "You’re too tall."

Adrian raised an eyebrow.

"I’ll need you to squat."

His expression remained completely serious. "There’s a stool." He gestured toward the side of the shower. "And a jacuzzi for this, sweetheart."

Emilia’s expression became thoughtful. She looked toward the automatic stool, then back at him.

"I love it when you call me that."

Adrian’s eyes softened.

"But for now, can we stick to my name?"

His expression changed slightly.

Emilia hesitated. Seeing his expression, she explained. "This isn’t a relationship, remember?"

Adrian said nothing.

She looked down briefly before meeting his eyes again. "And I don’t want my heart fluttering every time you call me that."

His gaze remained fixed on her.

"Every time you say it, I get more comfortable with you."

This time, the words settled between them.

Adrian didn’t immediately respond. Something flickered behind his eyes. He seemed ready to say something.

Instead, he stopped himself.

After a moment, he nodded. "Alright."

Emilia smiled faintly. "Thank you."

He reached toward the wall.

The automatic stool smoothly adjusted itself from its recessed position, rising to a comfortable height beside him.

Adrian sat.

Emilia smiled. "Much better."

She stepped forward, and squeezed some shampoo into her palm.

Adrian glanced over his shoulder. "Be gentle." He joked with her.

Emilia gasped dramatically "Are you saying I don’t know how to wash hair?"

"I’m saying you look like someone who would attack someone’s scalp with enthusiasm."

She laughed, and then placed her hands against his hair. Her fingers moved slowly through his dark strands, working the icy scented shampoo into his hair.

Adrian closed his eyes.

The tension in his shoulders gradually disappeared.

Emilia smiled when she noticed. "You’re enjoying this?" she questioned gently.

"Hmm." He hummed in approval.

She smiled, and continued massaging his scalp gently. The bathroom became quiet again.

Just the sound of running water and Emilia’s fingers moving through his hair filled the silence.

After a while, Adrian opened his eyes when she washed off the last trace of soap away.

"Emilia."

"Hm?"

"Thank you."

She smiled. "For washing your hair?"

"For this."

She understood what he meant. Her hands slowed. "It’s nothing."

Adrian turned his head slightly. "It isn’t."

Their eyes met through the reflection in the glass.

Emilia smiled softly. Then she returned her attention to his hair. "Just sit still."

A faint smile touched his lips. "Yes, ma’am."

Before she could respond, a notification sounded from outside the shower.

Emilia ignored it.

Another notification followed, and then another.

Adrian opened one eye. "Your phone."

She glanced toward the bathroom entrance.

A fourth notification sounded.

"I think someone really wants your attention."

Emilia sighed. "Probably Kylie."

"Go check."

She nodded. "I’ll be right back."

She stepped out of the shower and grabbed her phone from the nearby counter. Her eyes moved across the screen.

Then she returned.

Adrian was still sitting on the stool beneath the shower. "Who was it?"

"Ethan."

His expression remained neutral.

Emilia picked up the towel and wrapped it loosely around herself. "He’s asking if I want to have dinner again."

Adrian said nothing.

She continued casually. "He said lunch would work too, if dinner doesn’t."

Emilia looked at him.

Adrian’s expression hadn’t changed, but something in his eyes had.

"Do you want to go?"

She shook her head. "No."

He watched her.

Emilia turned back toward the shower and reached for the controls.

"I don’t know." She turned the water off.

The sudden quiet made the bathroom feel different.

She looked at Adrian. "It’s strange."

"What is?"

She smiled faintly. "I don’t want to leave."

Adrian’s eyes remained on hers.

For several seconds, he didn’t say anything. His expression softened. "Then don’t." He finally responded.

Emilia smiled. She stepped closer. "Okay."

Adrian pulled her closer from her waist, and made her sit on his lap. Then, he sealed their lips together.
