Inside another solitary cell. Miriel knelt in the center, her white robe pooled around, starkly contrasting the grimy surroundings. Her head was bowed, hands clasped tightly in prayer. Her soft, silver hair cascaded over shoulders, framing her serene face. Despite the fear and filth, she maintained an aura of purity, of untouched light.

"God of Void," she whispered, her voice a trembling thread in the heavy silence. "Lord Caelus, hear my plea. Protect my companions. Grant us the strength to endure. Guide us from this darkness. Shield them… shield Hanry…"

Tears traced clean lines down her cheeks, glistening in the dim torchlight filtering through the high barred window. "I know not the path… but I trust in Your grace. Please…"

Her prayer was interrupted by the harsh scrape of the cell door opening. Startling, her head snapping up, eyes wide with alarm.

Standing in the doorway, framed against the torchlit corridor beyond, was a figure of impossible beauty and chilling presence. Her eyes, those piercing blue eyes, locked onto Miriel.

"Prayers, Saintess?" Lyssandra purred, her voice a melodious thrum that seemed to vibrate through the air itself. "Do you truly think any god hears you in this place? Do you think your god cares?"

She stepped into the cell, the door swinging shut behind.

Miriel rose slowly from her knees, her movements graceful despite the strain. She smoothed her dirty robe before meeting Lyssandra's unwavering stare with surprising composure.

"You are the one," she stated. "You are the source of the evil here. You commanded the creatures to capture, to harm us."

It wasn't an accusation but a statement of fact. There was no fear in her tone, only a profound sadness.

Lyssandra arched an eyebrow, genuinely surprised. "How astute," she drawled. "And how do you come to that conclusion?"

Miriel closed her eyes, her lashes casting long shadows on her pale cheeks. When she opened them again, they held a gentle, almost pitying light.

"I can see it," she murmured. "The aura around you. It speaks of control, of dominance. But more than that… it speaks of cruelty. Of pain inflicted and relished." Her voice dropped to a near-whisper. "You must carry a great burden of darkness inside your heart."

Lyssandra felt a flicker of intrigue. This was no cowering prisoner, only steel beneath the serenity.

"Oh, really?" Lyssandra said, a mocking smile playing on her lips. "A great burden of darkness? You make it sound so dramatic, Saintess."

Miriel didn't flinch. She met Lyssandra's gaze with calm certainty. "It is no drama, only truth, I can feel the weight of your actions. The suffering you've caused, it echoes from you. It must be… painful, to carry so much hatred."

Her expression softened, becoming almost tender. "But do not despair," she continued, her voice gaining strength. "No soul is beyond redemption. Not even yours. There must be goodness within you. A spark, perhaps buried deep, but still burning. Let me help you find it."

She took a small step forward, her hands outstretched, palms up, in a gesture of pure, selfless offering. Her eyes shone with conviction. "Together, we can lift the shadows. God Caelus, is a God of mercy and forgiveness. He offers the way, even to those lost in the deepest darkness."

Lyssandra stared at the young woman before her, utterly astounded. After everything Miriel had endured – capture, imprisonment, the fear for her companions, she was offering compassion to her tormentor? Her captor? It was incomprehensible. Yet here she stood, radiating gentle light, speaking words of hope.

Lyssandra's mocking smile faded, replaced by a look of cold calculation. "Goodness?" she echoed, her voice devoid of emotion. "Within me? "How utterly… naive."

A chilling smirk returned to her face. "Your 'goodness' is a weakness. And weaknesses are meant to be exploited."

Lyssandra tilted her head. "But tell me one thing," her voice dripping with feigned interest.

"What of your companions? Do you see this 'goodness' you speak of within them?"

She circled Miriel like a shark assessing its prey.

"I imagine you do. You radiate that sickening belief in the best of people." She stopped in front of Miriel, crossing her arms. "So enlighten me. Start with the elf. Emerick. What makes him so worthy?"

Miriel didn't hesitate. Her eyes held a warm glow. "Emerick… beneath his sharp tongue and his… questionable sense of humor," She smiled faintly.

"He is deeply loyal. He jokes to mask his worry, his fear for others. He is brave in ways he doesn't show."

She turned slightly, following Lyssandra's movement. "Nekari, she is fire itself. Not just her speed and agility, but her spirit. She burns so brightly, so fiercely protective. When we were ambushed, she fought like a storm, shielding Rolfe from multiple enemies. She is quick to anger, but even quicker to defend her friends. There is no malice in her heart, only passion and courage."

Miriel's voice grew softer. "And Rolfe… oh, the bear. The quiet giant. He speaks so little, yet his actions are volumes." A tender smile touched her lips. "He shares his food, his strength. He stood before us all when the monsters attacked, absorbing blows meant for the rest of us. He is strength personified, yes, but also gentleness. A protector to his core."

She took a small step forward, her gaze distant as she thought of each of them. "We've only known each other for a few weeks, but… in these dire moments, bonds are forged quickly, deeply. Trust built through shared peril. Respect earned through sacrifice."

Her voice dipped slightly, a hint of color rising to her cheeks. "And Hanry, he is the glue that holds us together. He is steadfast, reliable, unwavering in his duty. He carries the weight of leadership on young shoulders with more grace than he knows. He is kind, fiercely kind. He sees the best in people, just as I do. He protects not just with his sword, but also his heart."

She met Lyssandra's gaze, her own clear and luminous. "He has faith in us, in our mission. He would give his life for any of us. That is true goodness. That is the strength of the bonds we've built. It's a light, a beacon that no darkness can extinguish."

Lyssandra listened, her expression unreadable. The genuine love, respect, and faith Miriel held for her companions were palpable.

She saw the gentle blush that touching the Saintess's cheeks when she spoke of Hanry. She heard the conviction, the unshakable belief in the inherent decency of her friends.

"So touching," Lyssandra moaned, her voice devoid of warmth. "Such heartfelt devotion. Such… purity."

"I know you believe them. Truly, I do." She turned and pulled open the heavy cell door behind her. "Come. Let's walk. And test your faith to see if your 'beacon' holds up against the real darkness."

She stepped out into the dimly lit corridor, gesturing for her captive to follow. Miriel hesitated only a moment, her eyes flickering with apprehension before stepping through the doorway.

"Where are you leading me?" Miriel asked, scanning the stone walls and barred cell doors around.

"Oh, you'll know," Lyssandra replied, her tone cryptic and mocking. "You will see. And then, perhaps, you will understand."

They moved deeper into the prison. The air grew colder, thicker. The stench of damp earth and something muskier, more animalistic, hung heavy. Then, faintly at first, Miriel heard it. A sound that sent a wave of heat crashing over her, pooling in her cheeks.

A guttural, rhythmic moaning echoed from a nearby cell. It was thick, raw, undeniably Emerick. The sound of intense, desperate pleasure.

Miriel froze mid-step, her blush deepening to a furious scarlet. Her breath hitched. She recognized that voice. It was her friend, her companion. But the sounds he was making… they were primal, vulgar, filled with a need which terrified her.

Lyssandra stopped a few paces ahead and turned, a knowing smirk on her face. "Ah. You hear it too?" she cooed. "Our flamboyant archer. He is quite the performer it seems."

She took Miriel's silence as answer. "Curious, aren't you? About what could possibly make such a debauchery sound? Come. See for yourself."

Miriel's feet felt rooted to the spot, but Lyssandra's presence before her was an irresistible force. She managed a few stiff steps, her heart pounding wildly against her ribs.

They reached a specific cell door reinforced with iron bands. Lyssandra grasped the large ring handle and swung it open before gesturing for Miriel to look inside, her smile widening with malicious glee.

The moans grew louder, filling the air.

The Saintess stepped forward hesitantly, peering through the doorway. The sight greeted her knocking the air from her lungs and jaw dropping open in horror.
