The massive chamber remained silent after the final announcement. The seventy-nine disqualified candidates stood frozen in sheer disbelief.

Elder Luo Jianfeng slowly walked toward an ordinary wooden door near the edge of the chamber. He opened the door slowly.

Creak...!!

The door swung inward. The thirty disciples are on the other side of the hundred doors chamber, their eyes widening in astonishment.

They found themselves standing inside an enormous circular chamber. The hundred doors they had just faced was a space which connects to the massive outer chamber.

Every door had opened into the same room. The chamber was so wide that the ceiling faded into a hazy defensive structure high above. The room had simple stone flooring, open space, and the circular ring of hundred doors.

Chen Ming opened his mouth in awe, pointing a trembling finger toward the walls. "So... every door was the correct door?"

"Yes," Luo Jianfeng whispered, nodding calmly.

Lian Nichang stared at him, his voice cracking slightly. "You mean all we had to do was open any door and walk through?"

"Exactly!" Luo Jianfeng smirked.

Huo Ren’s face twisted in agony. "Then what the hell were we agonizing over for an hour?!"

Luo Jianfeng suddenly let out a loud, unrestrained laughter. "Hahahahaha!"

His booming voice bounced across the stone walls. "You were overthinking yourselves, dumb brats!"

The disciples looked at each other with helpless glances. A few looked ready to collapse into tears, others clenched their fists in frustration, and nearly all of them groaned in agony for wasting an hour arguing in groups.

"The doors were never the true examination... What I have expected is your decision to walk through," Luo Jianfeng stroked his gray beard, enjoying their frustration.

He looked slowly across the thirty qualifiers. "Some stepped forward immediately. Some analyzed the environment first. Some followed trusted companions. Some acted on pure instinct or the guidance of their beasts. Some simply ran out of patience. And a few were dragged across the finish line by sheer, desperate panic at the last minute."

No one dared argue. Luo Jianfeng’s eyes suddenly snapped toward Lin Yuan. "You..."

Lin Yuan raised his head calmly.

"Your name is Lin Yuan, correct?"

"Yes, Elder Luo Jianfeng."

Luo Jianfeng folded his arms inside his robe’ sleeves. "Why didn’t you hesitate for even a second?"

The attention of the remaining twenty nine disciples turned toward Lin Yuan.

"Yeah, Lin Yuan. Spill it. We’ve been dying to know," Chen Ming leaned in with a grin.

Lin Yuan scratched his cheek, smiling warmly. "Hahaha... To be honest, I’m probably just the luckiest brat in this group."

"Luckiest?" The crowd blinked, murmuring at a time.

Luo Jianfeng raised a calm eyebrow.

"Yesterday, before the examination began, I went for a walk around the area of the outer sect. While wandering near the eastern ridge, I caught sight of this massive circular hall from the outside," Lin Yuan elucidated to everyone casually.

Luo Jianfeng’s expression changed slightly, and Lin Yuan pointed toward the roof.

"From the outside, the building’s exterior was large. But when Elder Luo led us blindfolded and took the cloth off, the inner chamber with the hundred doors felt far too small compared to the outer building. Since there were no other massive buildings nearby, the surrounding area had to be an outer hall."

The surrounding disciples listened closely, understanding the logic immediately.

"A layout like that meant all the doors likely converged into the same outer hall," Lin Yuan continued, nodding his head. "It was clearly a test of confidence and resolve rather than a puzzle. There was no reason to waste time standing outside."

The silence fell over the hall.

Chen Ming stared with his mouth open in awe. Lian Nichang looked at Lin Yuan in utter disbelief. Huo Ren looked as if he had been struck by lightning. Even Luo Jianfeng stood speechless for a few seconds.

"What?" Luo Jianfeng muttered, his face twisting slightly. "You just happened to stare at the building once yesterday while taking a walk?"

Lin Yuan nodded earnestly. "Yes!"

Luo Jianfeng stared at the ceiling, shook his head, and looked back at Lin Yuan.

"Hahahahaha!" The elder laughed vehemently in amusement. "You aren’t some profound strategist! You’re just ridiculously lucky!"

The whole room burst into laughter, the tension finally shattering.

"Hahaha!" Chen Ming laughed, clutching his stomach. "So that’s why you randomly picked the ugliest door in the room?!"

"It got the job done, didn’t it?" Lin Yuan let out an easy smile.

"I’ve run these types of trials for years, and you evaded the pressure simply because you went for an evening walk," Luo Jianfeng shook his head with a sigh.

"I guess.." Lin Yuan chuckled. "Haha... I suppose destiny was on my side."

"Don’t get cocky, boy."

"Understood, Elder."

"Enough foolishness," Luo Jianfeng cleared his throat, regaining his posture. He looked at the thirty students. "Passing the door trial is merely your ticket to the sect. Red Talon Hall expects results moving forward. From this moment on, you are all fellow disciples under the Red Talon Hall."

He gestured toward the first candidate in line. "State your name, cultivation realm, and your bound beast."

The twenty-one candidates from the outer provinces stepped forward one by one to introduce themselves.

A sturdy boy with short black hair spoke first. "Zhao Minghe. Baby Beast Realm, Peak Stage. Thunder Boar."

A lean young man with sharp eyes followed. "Su Chengwei. Baby Beast Realm, Peak Stage. Iron Wolf."

A broad-shouldered boy tapped his chest. "Han Zhe. Baby Beast Realm, Mid Stage. Earth Ape."

A graceful girl with long black hair bowed slightly. "Mo Yuxin. Baby Beast Realm, Peak Stage. Moon Serpent."

Beside her, a pale, quiet girl spoke softly. "Jiang Ruo. Baby Beast Realm, Mid Stage. Silver Deer."

The line moved swiftly through the remaining candidates slowly.

Fang Zhen — Baby Beast Realm, Peak Stage. Flame Falcon.

Wei Qiang — Baby Beast Realm, Mid Stage. Iron Boar.

Lu Chen — Baby Beast Realm, Peak Stage. Wind Wolf.

Shen Yue — Spirit Beast Realm, Mid Stage. Water Serpent.

Gao Rui — Baby Beast Realm, Peak Stage. Rock Bear.

Bai Ning — Spirit Beast Realm, Peak Stage. Frost Fox.

He Jun — Baby Beast Realm, Mid Stage. Thunder Wolf.

Tang Shuo — Baby Beast Realm, Peak Stage. Steel Falcon.

Mu Qing — Baby Beast Realm, Mid Stage. Vine Deer.

Zhou Kai — Baby Beast Realm, Peak Stage. Panther.

Ye Ling — Spirit Beast Realm, Peak Stage. Mist Fox.

Qin Mo — Baby Beast Realm, Peak Stage. Flame Serpent.

Su Yao — Baby Beast Realm, Peak Stage. Ice Wolf.

Duan Wei — Spirit Beast Realm, Mid Stage. Iron Ape.

Luo Fei — Baby Beast Realm, Peak Stage. Wind Deer.

Chen Yue — Spirit Beast Realm, Lower Stage. Water Falcon.

The twenty-one disciples completed their introductions. Among them were nine female cultivators, each proud.

Luo Jianfeng turned his attention to the nine disciples representing Green Hollow city’s academy. "Now, your turn, brats!"

Chen Ming stepped forward with his face held high. "Chen Ming! Spirit Beast Realm, Lower Stage. Wind-Falcon Beast!"

Lian Nichang followed. "Lian Nichang. Baby Beast Realm, Mid Stage. Wolf Beast."

Xiao Yanrui gave a calm nod. "Xiao Yanrui. Spirit Beast Realm, Lower Stage. Ice-Bear Beast."

A few outside candidates murmured in surprise at the second Spirit Beast Realm reveal.

Chi Ruyan slowly muttered. "Chi Ruyan. Baby Beast Realm, Mid Stage. Lighting Serpent Beast."

Chi Fenglian stepped out next. "Chi Fenglian. Baby Beast Realm, Peak Stage. Boar Beast."

Huo Ren grinned slightly. "Huo Ren. Baby Beast Realm, Mid Stage. Fire Falcon Beast."

Gu Fang Xin offered a polite smile. "Gu Fang Xin. Baby Beast Realm, Peak Stage. Fire Serpent beast."

Lian Mei Lin bowed slightly. "Lian Mei Lin. Baby Beast Realm, Mid Stage. Lightning Boar Beast."

Finally, Lin Yuan took a step out from the line, and the chamber grew more curious to know the lucky brat’s power.

"Lin Yuan." He paused for a brief second. "Core Beast Realm, Lower Stage."

A wave of gasps rippled through the candidates. Even Luo Jianfeng’s eyes narrowed widely in shock.

Lin Yuan smiled faintly, continuing, "My beast is a turtle."

The muffled murmurs lingered between the newcomers. A turtle cultivator reaching the Core Beast Realm at fifteen was never heard. He is a prodigy!

Luo Jianfeng stared at him in silence for a few seconds, thinking to himself that this kid was a walking puzzle.

With the introductions complete, Luo Jianfeng clapped his hands together, the sound echoing through the room.

"Well," the elder beamed. "From this moment onward, you all are recognized as outer disciples of Red Talon Hall."

Chen Ming grinned loudly. "We made it through!"

Lian Nichang laughed softly. "Finally..."

Huo Ren clenched his fists. "Red Talon Hall, here we come!"

"Follow me," Luo Jianfeng waved his sleeve.

The massive inner doors opened, and the disciples followed the elder out into the pathways toward the sect.

After a few minutes of climbing toward the Red Talon Hall, they arrived before an enormous main hall where long wooden tables had been arranged.

There were sets of crimson robes neatly placed across the tables, each meticulously embroidered with a golden talon descending across the left chest in the middle of the flowing flame patterns.

Luo Jianfeng pointed toward the tables. "Claim your official outer disciple uniform!"

The thirty recruits stepped forward.

Chen Ming grabbed his set, holding it up against his chest with pride. "Hahaha! Perfection at its peak. I look like a grandmaster already."

"You haven’t even worn it yet," Lian Nichang stared sideways at him.

"The magnificence radiates naturally, Nichang."

Lin Yuan picked up his uniform. The crimson robes felt cool and durable under his fingertips. He smeared the golden talon stitching, feeling the weight of it.

The days in the academy and the trials were in the past, and now he was standing on the proving grounds of a major sect.

Luo Jianfeng looked across the newly dressed disciples with a glint in his eyes.

"Get your rest tonight in your assigned quarters," the elder instructed. "Tomorrow at dawn, your true journey in Red Talon Hall will begin."
