This time, Liu Li seemed to take a longer shower than usual, but Li Younan, lying on the bed, didn’t find anything unusual about it.
After all, he occasionally kept in touch with some old friends by phone, including Jing Chaoyi, and he almost never hid it from Liu Li. She knew that he had these friends.
So, it’s not like Liu Li would get jealous. Besides, Jing Chaoyi was someone he knew even earlier. Back in Xiamen, it was Jing Chaoyi who filmed the videos. Occasionally, she would appear on camera, so Liu Li had long known about Jing Chaoyi’s existence.
At this moment, he couldn’t help but think of Jing Chaoyi’s plan to open a guesthouse. After this trip back, perhaps he would rest for a bit before setting off on his travels again. The next stop should be a change of mood.
In the Tibetan Area, you can see snow-capped mountains, grasslands, mountains, primeval forests, and even deserts, but you can’t see the sea. So, going to the seaside would be a nice experience for the next stop.
Of course, when Li Younan was studying in Shanghai, seeing the sea was quite convenient there, so he was not unfamiliar with seaside scenery. Moreover, his uncle was stationed in Hainan, so if he were to travel to the seaside this time, he would definitely have to think of different ways to make the trip interesting.
Perhaps sailing would be an excellent option.
Li Younan turned over.
But this matter is far more complicated than driving to the 318 Highway.
Li Younan has no experience with boats. Although he now has the skills to steer a boat, issues like how to acquire a boat, how to legally launch it, and where to go traveling are all somewhat bewildering. This matter needs careful planning.
Just as he was thinking this, the sound of water from the bathroom finally stopped.
Liu Li came out wrapped in a bath towel at her chest. She wasn’t wearing shoes, just walking barefoot, and slowly walked to Li Younan.
This surprised Li Younan a bit because Liu Li usually changed her clothes in the bathroom before coming out.
By now, it was getting dark outside. Liu Li sat on the edge of the bed and said, "Li Younan, why don’t you close the curtains."
Li Younan nodded, got up, and closed all the blackout curtains.
Tuantuan and Xuanhuan looked at Li Younan and Liu Li with curiosity.
Liu Li continued, "Put Tuantuan on the skylight, and cover Xuanhuan’s glass cage with a cloth."
Li Younan’s gaze flickered for a moment. He thought about it but didn’t ask why. Instead, he took a cloth and went to cover Xuanhuan’s glass enclosure.
After doing all this, he slowly returned to the bedside. Liu Li was still sitting at the edge of the bed, and the two sat in silence for a moment.
Liu Li gently tied her hair back into a ponytail and said, "Younan, do you think I look better with a ponytail or with my hair down?"
She didn’t look at Li Younan as she said this.
Li Younan turned his head to quietly admire her for a while.
A beautiful woman with her hair tied up versus down is a completely different style, thought Li Younan. Dating a pretty girl is wonderful—just a change in hairstyle lets you experience two different kinds of beauty.
"Both are beautiful."
Liu Li said, "Which one is more beautiful?"
Li Younan laughed, "There’s no such comparison. It’s like you girls liking to buy lots of handbags—"
"I don’t like handbags."
"Uh, I was just giving an example. Maybe you like playing games, like buying lots of skins that match different moods."
"Hairstyles are the same. Your ponytail now gives off a lively feeling, while your hair down makes you look like a princess."
Liu Li asked, "Do you think the two of us are meant to be?"
Li Younan said, "Of course we are."
"But if I didn’t message you first after seeing your video for the first time, would we have never met? Isn’t fate supposed to be about meeting by chance?"
Li Younan stroked his chin, "You’re overthinking it. You weren’t born in the Republic of China era, and I wasn’t born in the next century. That’s fate."
"Oh," Liu Li responded and then scooted further onto the bed, "Li Younan, do you think crows are smarter or owls?"
"Crows are probably smarter."
"Would the two of them get along well?"
"They would."
"I heard in the wild, crows bully owls."
"Not here. If Xuanhuan bullies Tuantuan, I’ll teach it a lesson."
Liu Li suddenly changed the topic, "Why have you never told me, ’I like you’?"
Li Younan froze for a moment, not answering.
There’s no such thing as a flawless person in this world. Although Li Younan often felt vain, knowing that he was not a bad guy even without the system among boys, he also clearly understood some of his own character flaws.
A person’s character is often a double-edged sword. Someone smart may also be more aloof, someone brave may be reckless at times.
People find it hard to truly understand themselves, but Li Younan was aware that when it came to expressing emotions, he had never been very proactive.
In some sense, his personality played a part when he broke up with Yang Ting.
Indeed, he hadn’t told Liu Li "I like you."
But he has never doubted his own feelings.
Li Younan thought for a while and said, "Every night, through the long hours, holding you to sleep, I hope the long night never ends."
