Chapter 1973: Chapter 1973: Rearing Guidelines (14)
"First tell me, where did this come from?"
Shang Qi pointed at the cash spread out on the table.
— It’s mine.
"Where did you get it from?"
— It’s definitely not stolen. Is that okay?
"..."
Chuzheng doesn’t seem inclined to explain. This Little Cat was already peculiar, and now there’s so much cash...
He should be cautious.
But Shang Qi just stayed silent and still agreed to let Chuzheng use his bank card, giving her the password.
Chuzheng asked for a card that wasn’t used often.
Who knew that a message would pop up after payment? Chuzheng was slightly startled when she saw the balance. She’s seen more money, so it’s nothing significant.
But Shang Qi’s trust put her in a good mood.
Chuzheng happily shopped online, quickly spending the one hundred thousand.
You never know what your buyer might purchase.png

After a couple of days, someone delivered things, and the bodyguard receiving them was a bit confused. They hadn’t bought anything...
Shang Qi? The gentleman’s?
The gentleman actually bought something online... The bodyguards found it novel and didn’t dare to open it to see what it was, quickly sending it upstairs to Shang Qi.
"Package?"
Upon hearing this, Shang Qi was as puzzled as the bodyguards, but then had a hunch about who bought it.
"Put it down."
Chuzheng knew the items had arrived and had no interest in looking, directly giving them to Shang Qi.
Shang Qi: "..."
Receiving a gift from a cat... hmm...
Shang Qi curiously opened the box. Inside was a decorative piece which looked nice and seemed to be gold-plated.
Shang Qi took out the piece, hesitated for a moment and still asked: "Did you specifically buy this for me?"
Chuzheng: "..."
If you think so, then it is. I won’t say anything.
Chuzheng stayed silent, so Shang Qi took it as a yes, raised his hand to pat her head, moving away before Chuzheng could get angry.
"Thank you."
Chuzheng: "..." Try patting my head again! I’ll bite you!
Shang Qi removed one of his room ornaments and replaced it with the one Chuzheng bought.
Compared to Shang Qi’s items, this piece obviously didn’t match the room’s style.
Shang Qi stood at a distance, arms folded, and admired it: "Sometimes I really feel like there’s a human soul inside you." So smart, too smart to be a cat.
Chuzheng: "..." Exactly!
Shang Qi only sighed, not delving further into that thought.
-
On the other hand, He Jin and Shang Yucheng were both hospitalized, naturally having no time to cause trouble here.
Besides some of Shang Qi’s work that required leaving, he mostly stayed at the manor, living comfortably with just a cat for company.
Chuzheng recalled something, pushed her phone towards Shang Qi, and started typing after unlocking it.
— You don’t like living here?
Shang Qi glanced at the words and responded coolly with a "Hmm."
This manor was like a cage created by the Shang family, trapping him inside.
No matter how beautiful the cage is, it’s still a cage, and he didn’t want to live in one.
— Then let’s move!
"Move?" Shang Qi was taken aback.
Previously, whenever he wanted to move out, Shang Yucheng would always stop him, pointing at him and scolding him not to trouble the Shang family.
Eventually, he got used to it and didn’t bother with it anymore.
After all, he was alone, living anywhere made no difference.
Here, it at least put the Shang family at ease, and he had nothing against living here.
"Moving, huh..."
Shang Qi murmured, set his book aside, and hugged Chuzheng: "You don’t like it here?"
Living here didn’t make a difference to Chuzheng, but she had tasks to do, and living here was quite inconvenient. Am I supposed to reign as Queen of the Air?
— I think you don’t like it, so we can move.
Her admitting, "I think you don’t like it..." made Shang Qi’s heart inexplicably tremble.
His preferences, his opinions... when did they ever matter?
But this place...
Considering he hadn’t lost control for some time, Shang Qi was tempted.
"Okay." Shang Qi tapped Chuzheng’s nose with his fingertip, gently scraping: "Let’s move."
Shang Qi already owned an apartment in the city; it wasn’t a villa, just a neighborhood with slightly better security.
Since he hadn’t kept a cat before, there wasn’t much for a cat in that apartment.
After having it redecorated, he moved in with Chuzheng.
Shang Qi placed the decor Chuzheng bought, then glanced at Chuzheng and immediately said, "No scratching the sofa."
Chuzheng withdrew her paw reluctantly, turned away with an air of aloofness.
Ding-dong——
The doorbell rang, and Shang Qi lightly tapped on Chuzheng before going to open it.
"Hi!"
Du Pei’s face appeared from behind a bouquet of flowers.
Shang Qi calmly looked at the visitor: "Why are you here?"
"I heard you moved, so I came to congratulate you on your new home." Du Pei squeezed past Shang Qi, self-importantly rummaging for a pair of shoes to change into: "Why did you suddenly decide to move? You refused before, saying the manor was cold and lifeless, like a hermitage. It’s a miracle you didn’t go crazy living there."
Shang Qi: "..."
Shang Qi closed the door.
"How long do you plan to stay?"
Du Pei was shocked: "What, you’re kicking me out as soon as I arrive?"
"You know..."
"Okay, okay, I understand, but since I’m already here, you have to let me have a meal before leaving, okay?"
"..."
Shang Qi didn’t say anything more.
Knowing Shang Qi consented, Du Pei, feeling pleased, asked, "Where should I put the flowers?"
Shang Qi randomly pointed at a spot, and once Du Pei placed them down, he slumped onto the sofa.
Du Pei looked around for the cat: "By the way, where’s your fatty? I saw cat things around."
"Fatty?"
"Yue Ban." Du Pei gestured: "Didn’t you name her that because she’s fat?"
Shang Qi frowned: "No."
Du Pei didn’t mind: "Oh, I thought you named her that because she’s fat. So where’s Yue Ban?"
Shang Qi glanced at the room as Du Pei gleefully started looking for the cat.
"Aren’t you afraid she’ll scratch you?"
Du Pei paused mid-step, stroked the back of his hand, and after a moment sat back down.
"Your cat is too fierce; you need to train her properly."
"She’s not fierce to me."
"..."
Shang Qi had some groceries brought, rolled up his sleeves, and went to the kitchen to cook, while Du Pei opened the wine he had brought.
"By the way, you’ve been quite calm lately." Du Pei sipped his wine, leaning against the countertop, watching Shang Qi chop vegetables: "No issues?"
"Yeah, it’s been fine."
Du Pei eyed him: "You don’t have any new developments, do you?"
Though Du Pei found it a good thing that Shang Qi wasn’t losing control, sometimes for someone exceptionally special, too much calm could be unsettling.
Isn’t it always calm before a storm?
Du Pei suddenly got serious: "Shang Qi, if there’s any problem, you have to tell me."
Shang Qi kept his head down, the chopping rhythm undisturbed, and said in a neutral tone: "I’m fine."
