Leveling Up by Defiling Milfs

Chapter 198: Ch198: The Man in Black

Daniel gritted his teeth the moment his eyes landed on Klaus. A surge of rage coursed through his veins, so fierce that he nearly unleashed his third form of lightning and struck him down where he sat.

Unaware of Daniel’s presence, Klaus simply nodded along, casually chatting with Bernard.

Then Daniel saw Klaus slip a hand into his pocket, as though reaching for something.

A weapon? A knife?

Nothing.

Klaus simply kept his hand in his pocket while continuing his conversation with Bernard.

But in Daniel’s mind, every movement Klaus made looked like the prelude to an attack.

’Fuck, I’ve to separate Bernard from him?’ Daniel racked his brain. ’Think, Daniel. Think!’

Just then, Klaus rose from his chair and gestured for Bernard to follow him outside.

Daniel turned away at once, pretending to be just another customer minding his own business.

Only after they had left did he quietly trail them.

Bernard and Klaus walked side by side through the crowded street, brushing past pedestrians in the narrow lane.

From the way Klaus subtly steered their path, it was obvious he was leading Bernard toward the residential district.

Daniel glanced up at the sky and hurried after them.

Dark clouds rolled overhead, swallowing the sun, while a cool, moist wind hinted that rain would soon fall.

An idea flashed through his mind.

He quickened his pace, slipped in behind Klaus, then deliberately shoved a passerby walking beside him, sending the man sprawling onto the dusty ground.

*BAM!*

"Jump," he hissed.

In the blink of an eye, Daniel slipped into the stranger’s shadow, disappearing without a trace.

"Ow! Damn it... Who the hell hit me?" the stranger barked, spinning around. Then his eyes landed on the man in the black tunic.

"Oi! Mister. You think that’s funny, huh?"

Klaus turned, clearly caught off guard.

Behind the stranger, several other men stopped and gathered around him. Judging by the way they stood together, they looked like brothers.

"What happened, Desmond?" Armando, the middle brother in a purple tunic, asked.

"Brother Armando, this stupid-looking guy hit me," Desmond said, pointing an accusing finger at Klaus as he rose to his feet, dusting off his once-pristine white tunic, now smeared with dirt.

"How dare you lay a hand on my little brother!" Armando snapped.

"Apologize to my brother. Right now," Leo, the eldest brother — a broad-shouldered, muscular man in a forest-green tunic, growled.

Klaus narrowed his eyes in confusion and lowered his hat a little. "Okay. Sorry," he said in a flat, emotionless tone before turning to leave.

Hearing the indifference in his voice, the three brothers were far from satisfied.

"Brother Leo, this guy doesn’t even sound sorry," the middle brother in the purple tunic scoffed.

"You’re right, Armando," the eldest brother in the forest-green tunic said. "This fool has no respect for our little brother. Come on — we’ll teach this bastard a lesson he’ll never forget."

The three brothers advanced with clenched fists. Three against one. Their numbers alone gave them the confidence to act.

"Oi," Armando said, placing a hand on Klaus’s right shoulder. "Get back here. You haven’t apologized to my—"

*Stab🗡️*

Armando froze.

His sentence broke off.

Only then did he look down.

A small knife protruded from his side.

The rest of his words died in his throat.

"Yes?" Klaus asked, his voice as calm as ever.

Watching from beneath Desmond’s shadow, Daniel felt nothing out of the ordinary.

Klaus hadn’t even flinched.

"Sir, I apologize," Klaus said, raising his right hand.

The eldest brother Leo gave a small nod, his arms still folded across his chest.

Bernard stood off to the side, watching the exchange with a puzzled expression.

The moment Klaus turned away, Armando staggered.

Desmond walked over to his middle brother and lightly took hold of his arm. "Brother? What’s wrong?"

"Ghk—!"

A mouthful of blood burst from his lips, followed by another, far heavier than the first.

"Armando!" Desmond cried, catching him before he could collapse.

The panicked shout drew everyone’s attention. Within moments, a crowd began gathering around the scene.

Leo’s eyes shot to Klaus. With a furious roar, he charged after the supposed attacker.

[ Shadow linked successfully ]

[ Do you want to jump to another shadow ? Y/N ]

Yes.

...

"I’m going to kill you!" Leo shouted as he lunged at Klaus, trying to wrestle him to the ground.

To his surprise, Klaus sidestepped with ease, causing Leo to miss completely.

In the same motion, Klaus drove a kick into Leo’s face, sending blood streaming from his nose. But before Klaus could pull away, Leo caught his leg and yanked him to the ground.

Meanwhile, a crowd formed a wide circle around the fight. More townsfolk who knew Leo pushed their way forward, their fists clenched as they prepared to join in.

’Shit, I can’t just crawl out here,’ Daniel thought.

He rapidly switched from one shadow to another until he reached the edge of the crowd. Slipping out beside the corner of a nearby shop, where no one was looking.

Once outside, Daniel blended into the crowd and scanned the sea of faces for his comrade.

There, he spotted Bernard standing off to the side, watching the fight unfold.

Daniel reached out, grabbed Bernard by the wrist, and pulled him into the crowd, weaving between the startled onlookers.

"Shh... Hurry, let’s go," he whispered.

Bernard turned his head, his gaze darting left and right. "Wait! No. He knows something about my mother!"

Bernard tried to pull free, unwilling to leave.

But Daniel tightened his grip and used his strength to drag him along, his fingers locked firmly around Bernard’s wrist.

"He’s not the man I was talking about," Daniel said through gritted teeth. "I’ll explain later, but right now we need to get out of here."

Meanwhile, Klaus struck again. As he forced his way through the crowd, he stabbed Leo and several other townsfolk with the same small knife, poisoning them before disappearing into the chaos.

One after another, people dropped to their knees, coughing blood.
